I mean yeah, but... here me out. A Lamborghini Temerario that comes in unique blue, red, or yellow paint. The Lamborghini emblem has the bull colored red. The Red Bull logo on the side with some stripes. Interior stitching is red, vlue, and yellow. Max Verstappen tests the car to tune more for track driving. His signature is on a plate somewhere in the car. Throw some carbon on the exterior.
Does this not sound like the next big clout chaser car? They'd make so much money. Its the right amount of dumb and interesting.
Lamborghini, the same company owned by Red Bull's F1 competitor factory team Audi? That Lamborghini?
No, no one else is confused as to why that doesn't happen.
Speaking to the degree of competition, I agree with you. But that doesn't change the reality that VW group is a competitor on the grid, and Red Bull isn't going to partner up to boost the brand of a competitor.
On a side note do you know why Audi is going to F1?
They dialed back significantly on their racing programs and dropped support for their TC teams and I believe they are doing it in GT3.
I know several teams who stopped purchasing the Audi R8 EVOs because of how trash Audi was.
No, no idea. I think it made a lot more sense when it was Porsche and not Audi, but the general motivations and machinations of the VW group have always been a mystery to me.
If we’re talking body style, so unbelievable wrong, S197 is far better than both the 550 or the 650. Then look at anything pre fox and those are superior to the S197
I stil daydream all the time about the GT350 - had an opportunity to buy one for $37K right before covid and I passed and im still kicking myself over it.
Its okay, its definitely a fun experience but dont beat yourself up too bad. I had bought mine at that time and it was just a giant headache because it had a bunch of issues.
Killed my enjoyment of the car and just reaffirmed my decision to never buy another Ford again (my first car was a Ford and I had multiple problems and the service department was absolutely trash)
Just what we needed, another expensive Mustang. A manual GT is just shy of $50k with the performance pack pushing it over $54k.
I think what we’re really missing is a stripped down “Club Spec” manual GT that comes in closer to $40k. Hell, you could even sell it with a cheap set of place-holder wheels like they did with the steelies on the base Bronco.
Thought those steelies were on purpose. There's a baby blue Bronco around here with ....baby blue steelies under it. They are body matched, look very intentional.
> just as the Dark Horse was an effective successor to the now-departed Mustang GT350
Was it, though? Isn't it more like a Mach 1 or Bullitt in that it's really just a GT with a few extra performance parts?
The Mach 1 was pretty far removed from a GT. It had everything great from the 350 and 500 but kept the Coyote which is damn reliable. It’s my favorite Mustang of the last 20 years. I still have a deep love for the Terminator but this somehow surpassed it.
The same could be said about suspension and cooling bits on the GT350. It got a modified engine, that’s cool but Ford also chose to nerf its performance by using a flat plane crank with an atypical firing order so it would sound more like a Mustang.
Counterwound springs, lower and bespoke front end, specific MR tuning, wider front tires
Nerfed?
I love my GT350 more than any M3 or GT500 or even a carrera S
If they used a traditional flat plane firing order the engine could have revved righter and made more hp. They didn’t, that’s nerfing the engine [https://youtu.be/RcyMoZoqkPA&t=15m20s](https://youtu.be/RcyMoZoqkPA&t=15m20s)
I never said the GT350 wasn’t fun or a bad car, but the voodoos potential was held back.
That crank isn't keeping the engine from revving any higher. A lightweight crank changes speed more easily, but it's the cylinder heads and valvetrain that allow an engine to make power at higher RPM.
It's the GT350's headers that really changed the sound from a typical flat-plane that uses a 4-into-1 design. If they wanted it to sound like a Mustang, they would have kept a cross-plane crank.
It was so hard to watch the video. There is a cut every two seconds. Every two! It's unbearable. I don't understand how people can keep up with the content when there is a cut after cut after cut. It's relentlessly distracting. I don't get it.
Max *has* stated before that he thinks he could shave a few seconds off the GTD time at the 'ring. I hope this Ford/Redbull partnership and these promo videos are a lead up to exactly that.
The wording the announcer used is the exact same wording used on the Instagram Teaser that Ford Mustang posted.

Pretty interesting.
