What's the best free invoicing and quoting software in the UK?

Hi, I've just set up a small business and I'm looking for some free software or an app that I can make a basic invoice or quote with. Something I can slap my logo on and a description of works. Don't mind if it has ads or if theres options to upgrade to a more premium service in the future, but at the moment I'm trying to keep costs to a bare minimum.
Thanks

How fancy do you want it to be?
You could just set up an Excel template for both and then print to PDF before sending it to customers.

Basic , but phone based ideally. I don't have a laptop with Microsoft Office. Thank you though.

Hey you could try Invoiciz. It’s an app part of Freelanzi: freelance and small business software company ecosystem. It’s very simple to use and mobile first. You can create and send quotes, invoices in seconds, your logo in the document. You can try for free up to 5 clients, 5 quotes and 5 invoices.

I use utequote.com.au and it has a voice to quote/invoice feature that has a lot of free features for the job you are trying to do

I started with pages and numbers templates on my Mac and I could then create new ones on the phone and send as PDFs. Saved them all into a folder for my accounts.
Then there is invoice2go which is subscription. Maybe £10 a month.
I moved onto QuickBooks though which is quite expensive but as I got busier it saved me a few hours a month which made it worth it.

Makes sense. We went through a similar journey started with basic templates, then moved to paid tools as things picked up.
If you ever find QuickBooks getting a bit limiting for quoting or proposals, Zomentum might be worth a look. It’s built more for sales-heavy workflows, with quoting, invoicing, and e-sign all in one place. They recently rolled out a new editor that makes creating and sending quotes super fast, and everything stays organized without needing multiple tools.
It’s around £399 a month for three users, so definitely more of a step up when you're focused on saving time and presenting professionally. But for us, it paid for itself quickly just by speeding up the quoting and approval process.

I’ve actually dissolved and retired now.
But the time = money is on point.
Making money should always be your focus. Sounds like you’re doing great.

Totally understand the need to keep costs down when you’re just starting out. There are some free tools that can get the job done for basic quotes and invoices, especially if all you need is something simple with your logo and a few line items.
That said, if you find yourself needing something more efficient or client-ready later on, Zomentum is worth a look. It’s designed for small service businesses and handles quoting, invoicing, and e-signatures in one place. They recently launched a new editor that makes it really easy to build and send quotes with a professional look.
Pricing in the UK is around £399 a month for three users, so it’s more of a future investment once things ramp up. But if quoting becomes a big part of your workflow, it’s one of the smoother tools we’ve used.

check out this tool. there is a free version that you can use

If you want free, most options are pretty limited in the UK (they usually push you to upgrade fast). That said, I've used Axonaut for quotes/invoices and it's been simple + clean. Not UK-native, but fine if you just need professional PDFs and basic tracking.

Yeah, thats the issue I'm having. There's loads of options but all subscription based. I'll give it a go, thanks

I'd say https://1nvoic3.com it's free without no need for signing up and it's simple. You should try it out. You can thank me later
Immediate-Fun-168@reddit

Have a look at Zoho’s invoicing and other tools.
I got on well with it but did use the paid for services
