It depends what you mean by "sucks ass". Anything he says solely to pander to his audience sucks ass, but if we're talking about right/wrong he's about a 50/50. It's just that when he's right it's usually about something that 95% of America is already aligned on, and he's just acting like whatever he's saying is brave because his audience is accustomed to focusing on the craziest people they can find. In short, Asmongold saying any of his usual dunks is worth about as much as someone like Hassan saying "racism bad". Is he wrong? No, but the statement is so broad and safe that the only people it appeals to are the ones so terminally online that they think the statement is brave.

Example, he's one of the first guys decrying wokeness in media every time he has the opportunity to do so. He's right when he makes broad and agreeable statements like "diversity should come organically." No shit, but you have to be terminally online to think that there are very many people who would disagree with that statement. When you get into the specifics of his claims about this or that, he's wrong as often as he's right. He will claim everything with any amount of diversity is going woke and broke, then worry about whether he was right after the fact.

If the piece of media failed for any reason, he can do victory laps about how it was too woke and that's why the reason it failed. If the piece of media succeeds, he quietly shuts up about it or amends his opinion because he was wrong and his audience wouldn't want to hear him say "OK I was wrong, the black Targaryens were well written and the show was very well received." I think it's pretty easy to say that those opinions suck. They were made only out of a need to pander, and end up being wrong quite often. He has no obligation to be fair or correct himself, and if he did, his audience would tune out.

You can pretty much apply the above blueprint to any of these professional yappers, and any of their usual repeated opinions. Their audience is only there to hear them say "you're right about that thing" while the iron is hot. After that, they're sitting catbird. Doesn't matter if they were right or wrong, the audience got what they came for. They said the thing their audience wanted to hear while the news was fresh.

Sorry for the long answer, it's kind of hard to put these mechanisms into words succinctly. But that's why the people that listen to these guys end up braindead and disconnected with reality.
