Anyone familiar with the JRIDE? RTC won’t work

Adding to this aged thread because it came up in a search engine as I was seeking to solve this problem on my PCjr. I tried lots of configurations to get it to work, and what finally succeeded was powering up the Jr with no battery in the JrIDE, setting the clock, then inserting the battery. The switches were set to the off position.
