This thread is for simple questions that don't warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Please don't post involved questions that are better suited to a [Build Help], [Build Ready] or [Build Complete] post.
Examples of questions suitable for here:
- Is this RAM compatible with my motherboard?
- I'm thinking of getting a ≤$300 graphics card. Which one should I get?
- I'm on a very tight budget and I'm looking for a case ≤$50
Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged.

Looking to upgrade my PC, but unsure of which I should upgrade first between my CPU (AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core) and GPU (NVIDIA GeForce 1660 SUPER). For additional context, this PC is for video editing and gaming. If you need anymore information, let me know and thank you!
TemptedTemplar@reddit
GPU. Prices could skyrocket over the next few months, while CPUs likely will stagnate or fall in price.
AMD actually just announced they're going back to produce more AM4 chips to help meet the demand for cheaper DDR4 platforms in lieu of DDR5 being all sucked up by AI.
$300 or less; ARC B580
$400 or less; 9060xt 16gb.
$600 or less; RTX 5070 or RX 9070
beyond that the 9070xt is usually a better value than the 5070ti. But these might also necessitate a new power supply. ~300w+ tdp
Z4mbieee@reddit
recently got the 9060xt 16gb and now im having tons of issues recording/editing videos and my game is awfully slow
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Z4mbieee@reddit
I installed the latest drivers from AMDs website
I use adobe premiere pro for editing, obs streamlabs for recording, and I was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 1. Currently thinking of returning this and getting a 5070 if I can't manage. I'm really just looking for a decent upgrade from the 1660 Super if anything!
TemptedTemplar@reddit
That would be an upgrade for both game and video encoding performance.
I can't imagine why the game would be slow though, black ops 1 isn't exactly pushing boundaries these days. Are you sure the GPU is struggling with just the game and recording software going? There's nothing else in the background? Or maybe it's the CPU, RAM or disk hitting it's limits first?
And how long of a video file are you recording? I know MP4 files and Premiere absolutely chug when your file is over 4 hours long. Regardless of hardware.
Z4mbieee@reddit
Typically I'll run Black Ops 1, OBS Streamlabs while its recording, and a google doc open when I'm recording. If I'm editing, then I'd really only have Premiere pro open. Is there a way to test the limits of CPU, RAM, or disk?
The file was only 1hr 23 minutes long. I record in mkv. and convert it to mp4. afterwards, but I know I had to changed the codec and that seemed to help stop the lagging while recording.
Another issue I had was my drivers would time out while I was both recording and playing, I found a fix for that, but editing has just been incredibly slower than usual since the upgrade. I just feel sort of regretful in purchasing in AMD card because other people have mentioned its better for gaming and not so much video editing.
TemptedTemplar@reddit
I would just check task manager when you're experiencing issues. The performance tab gives you a decent idea of component usage.
CPU usage can be a little confusing if your CPU has lots of cores. You would need to click into the CPU tab specifically to get a core-by-core load breakdown. Most programs won't scale to use more than eight. Even if you have more availabile.
Downgrades in every way. Better than your 1660, but not as good as the 9060xt should be.
I think something else is at fault here.
Have you tried capping your frame rate? I feel like the GPU may be pushing your other components to their limits. Something you simply weren't able to encounter when the 1660 super was your bottleneck.
Limiting Blackops consumption should give OBS the extra resources it needs.
For Premire pro there isn't much to do here. It's probably strangling your CPU or RAM. Maybe double check the settings to insure that the GPU is being utilized? Perhaps when you removed the 1660 it just defaulted back to the CPU rather than detecting the new GPU.
n7_trekkie@reddit
GPU, 9060XT-16gb
Z4mbieee@reddit
Currently have a PSU with 750 W
n7_trekkie@reddit
Yeah 750 is fine for all those. I wouldn't get any 8gb GPU, so no 3070
redfedric@reddit
Hi! Can anyone recommend me a UPS for my current build
B850 Edge Ti 9800x3d 9070xt Corsair 1000w shift
I saw people saying a UPS with sine wave is the way to go but not sure if the UPSs I’ve been seeing has.
polystyla@reddit
Hello, everyone here seems to have the best knowledge out of related subreddits, so I'll try my luck. Fuck this market, buying a pre built is actually going to cost me roughly the same or less rather than building my own. I'm torn between MSI - Aegis Z2 Gaming Desktop - Ryzen 7 8700F, RTX 5070 Ti 16GB, 32GB DDR5, 2TB NVMe - $1650 and MSI - Aegis R2 AI Gaming Desktop - Intel Ultra 7 265 - 32GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti - 2TB SSD - $1930. Looks like I'll be compromising on the CPU and liquid cooling with a cheaper option, but get a better ability to upgrade down the road with AM5 platform. Is it worth paying less money upfront?
pmjm@reddit
The intel 265 is significantly faster, but probably not "worth $300" faster. As a point of comparison, for $400 you could upgrade to a 7800x3d tomorrow and sell your 8700f for ~$200, which would absolutely spank the Intel system.
AzureBat@reddit
Yeah, get the AM5 one. Immediately when you get it, sell the 8700F and grab a 7800X3D or 9800X3D.
Redditenmo@reddit
If the memory specs are identical, I'd go with the AM5 option.
Ecstatic_Captain_697@reddit
Which is the better choice for gaming?
Ultra 5 245k
i5-14600k
pmjm@reddit
I would go with the 14600k as long as you got it new. Avoid used 14th gen due to people selling their degraded chips.
This would also give you the opportunity to buy a motherboard that supports ddr4 ram which might save you some money these days.
Make sure the first thing you do is update your motherboard's bios to the latest, to mitigate the 14th gen issues.
bestanonever@reddit
Neither, get an AM5 CPU like the R5 9600X, unless they cost an arm and a leg, by comparison.
Best performance, lower power consumption, stable platform, no degradation issues (Intel's 13th and 14th gen), no slower performance than their predecessors (Core Ultra 200 series).
But, if you had to choose between these two Intel ones, I'd get the Core Ultra, for peace of mind.
Ecstatic_Captain_697@reddit
Peace of mind? Because of the voltage issue 14th gen had? I don’t think it affect i5 very much and mobos have had bios updates since then.
I did read though the i5 offers better game performance which is odd, seeing as how the ultra 5 should be its predecessor.
Ya AMD is too expensive for me.
bestanonever@reddit
The upper end of I5s were also affected, like this one. I wouldn't risk it. Even with many BIOS updates, it's still a risk to get both voltage and bad silicon degradation. Not every chip would get it but you also won't know until you have it working for a couple of months.
The new Ultra series has a fresh architecture and it went backwards a bit, when it comes to gaming. In some games, they perform similarly to Intel's 12th Gen, which isn't bad, but that was top dog in 2021, lol. Recent BIOS and chipset upgrades got them some more performance.
On the bright side, no voltage or oxidation shenanigans, better power consumption and it seems to be a more stable platform. Not AM5 stable, but the best Intel has to offer since 12th gen, imo.
Ecstatic_Captain_697@reddit
Thanks for all info bestsanonever I appreciate it. I always thought AMD was a little cheaper than Intel, but for some reason where I live the ultra 5 245k is around $75-$100 less than a ryzen 5 9600x and of course, then the a.m. five motherboard is around $50 more versus the LGA 1700. And by that point, I mean as might as well, just get an X3D chip lol
bestanonever@reddit
Mind you that the Ryzen 7000 series, like the 7700X or 7600 (X) are only about 5% slower than the 9000 series, so they also might be an option.
And the Ryzen 7000 series is already faster than Intel's 12th Gen, even before getting into the X3D Cpus.
cheesehead59@reddit
Hey guys👋 I’m looking to buy/build a pc but I’m on a tight budget of 300$ can yall help me?
pmjm@reddit
$300 is not really doable these days if you want something new. Best you could probably do is to buy a used office pc from eBay (like an Optiplex or equivalent) and then add a used gpu to it. Research the models you're buying to make sure the power supply has capacity or can be easily replaced (ie is non-proprietary).
bestanonever@reddit
That's super tight. Look for used parts or consider getting a console, if this is for gaming. RAM alone would eat half your budget or more, these days.
Dont_Consult_Me_069@reddit
Currently using Ryzen 5 3600 with 16gb of RAM and 1070ti on a B450 mobo. I purchased a 5060ti 16gb recently and thinking about updating the rest of the my system. Would it make more sense to upgrade CPU or RAM?
Budget is around 130$. 200$ if I can find a ram and CPU bundle that seems hard to find in this current market.
n7_trekkie@reddit
You can drop in a Ryzen 5600
Dont_Consult_Me_069@reddit
It is worth to try to get a B550 board? I heard there might be some problem with 5060ti on PCIE gen 3 but from some videos it seems like that might have been fixed

thoughts so far?
planning on getting an oled 4k monitor too
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Make sure you can cool the CPU effectively. The better you can cool it. The higher it will boost on its own.
YuseiFudou@reddit
I put together a list of a new build I want to put together, as I am going from AM4 to AM5.
Here is the list on pcpartpicker.
The RTX 5080 is the only thing I purchased so far from this list and it will arrive in the coming weeks.
The cooler I will just take out from my current build, as well as both my SSDs. All the other parts are brand new. Basically planning to keep everything else in my old rig as a backup.
Still a little unsure on the motherboard, because I've read some people having ethernet issues, but other than that it seems to be very good. And with cases, I just chose one based on some reviews where this has great airflow.
Mainly planning on playing games at 1440p & 120 fps with this build, which my current build struggles with.
Anyone have any thoughts on this build and any suggestions?
TemptedTemplar@reddit
No notes. That's a solid lineup.
With DLSS you could easily exceed 120fps in most games. Some friends of mine have been playing around with Lossless scaling and multi-frame gen, getting stupid numbers like 200fps in Space Marine 2 and over 600 in kingdom come Deliverance 2.
confusion-500@reddit
do these specifications for my motherboard (B550 A Pro) mean that my second M.2 slot will only work with an NVME SSD and not a SATA SSD?
Mission-Path8456@reddit
M.2 Slots: 2 (M2_1 supports PCIe 4.0/3.0 & SATA, M2_2 supports PCIe 3.0x4)
SATA is ran through the chipset PCIe & NOT the CPU PCIe on M2_1 (Slot M2_1 retains full speed)
If SATA drives are connected they will drop M2_2 down to PCIe 3.0x2 or even disable it depending on number of SATA drives & installed port/s.
Note: CPU dependant on PCIe lanes
Protonion@reddit
Yes. First slot supports NVMe and SATA, second slot only supports NVMe.
vasilisaposto2005@reddit
For some reason im getting slow boot times with a gen 5 nvme.
It takes 15 seconds for the screen to go from blank to the black screen with the AORUS motherboard logo (I assume that means bios is finished) but then it stays on that screen for another 30 seconds with the rotating loading symbol on the bottom (I assume that means windows is processing) and then on second 45 asks me to log in to windows.
System is UEFI csm off, I have tried fast boot, fast startup with no decrease or increase.
Event log shows no system boot errors only getting stuff ready.
I tried turning off memory integrity which kept the starting 15 seconds the same but reduced the loading time from another 30 seconds down to 20 seconds (35 total now).
I also tried default bios, no second boot drive selected, turning off every one of the few startup apps i have and much more and just like the fast boot options in windows and bios, they didnt decrease the time nor increase it.
mo0nman_@reddit
I'm upgrading my CPU, RAM and Motherboard on my PC such that I'll have the components below. I'm wondering if my existing 1000W PSU will be sufficient:
Cheers :)
Terakahn@reddit
The only reason to upgrade your psu would be to get newer atx standards. But it's definitely not a need. Wattage is more than enough.
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Overkill really. You'll be fine.
The 3090 can pull a ton of power but with stock settings it will almost never exceed ~350w.
Which is roughly the sum of every other component in the build.
mo0nman_@reddit
Oh sweet. Thanks ! I bought the PSU in 2020 but I think it's platinum rated. That means it should still be fine for another few years right ?
TemptedTemplar@reddit
At least 4 more, if not longer. Once they hit 7 - 8 years old I do pay attention to what I'm doing with the rest of the rig, and I might replace it if I want to draw more power with something like a new GPU. But if I'm staying around the same power draw I will reuse it until it dies or something new comes along.
n7_trekkie@reddit
1000W is fine. What's the PC used for? 96gb of ram really strings rn
mo0nman_@reddit
A mixture of gaming (Tarkov mainly) while multitasking, software development with large compilation tasks as well a running dev deployment environments locally, and a bit of content creation.
One of my CPU cores died so needed a new CPU, which meant new RAM. I didn't feel like waiting for prices to come down since I'm not too convinced they will for a long while
Livid_Cobbler_3213@reddit
So I’ve had the same pc since freshman year it’s a i7-8700k and a rtx 2080 recently it’s been giving me some quirks that have been disappointing me and I’d love to build a new rig before I move next fall. I’ve always been with intel/nvidia just because I was born into it, my dads been building with them for years but the prices man they seem a lil steep. Anybody have a good recommendation for moderate gaming and heavy school work. Not like engineering just processing a lot which is what’s making me want to switch to amd just not sure where to start
Terakahn@reddit
Do you use the pc for anything besides gaming? Do you have a hard budget cap? Desired resolution/fps? You said heavy school work but is that like rendering or anything compute heavy?
I would personally still go nvidia, but depending on budget amd could be better. If you're going 5070ti prices and above I'd go nvidia.
Intel and amd have pros and cons but for purely gaming amd can't really be beat due to its vcache giving it way better and more consistent 1% lows and generally higher averages. But most games are way more gpu bound, so you're really only noticing these things at 1080p.
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Make competing builds and price them out.
https://pcpartpicker.com/
Intels "consumer" level gaming CPU would be the 265k, which can compete with the 7800X3D but consumes a LOT more power to do so. You'd have to jump to a 295k to match the 9800X3D, Intel can barely compete with it.
The RAM and GPU are going to make up the lions share of the cost. But you can use those with either platform.
Terakahn@reddit
How do you guys pick out a psu? It seems like the most obfuscated piece of tech in the whole build.
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Wattage and cable needs. Extra is nice, but not required.
Price
Effeciency ratings
Reviews are the last method used to cut out contenders.
The last time I bought one I had it narrowed down to ~850w but then a gold 1000w unit popped up for the same price as the 850w units I was comparing and I just went with that.
Hachune-Miku@reddit
I just bought a new SSD. My C drive is almost full, so if I clone it to the new drive and then change the boot option in the BIOS, will that work? Will anything break? I plan to wipe the old C drive.
Aleksanterinleivos@reddit
Yes, just make sure you're cloning the whole drive, so the smaller hidden boot/recovery partitions too.
GhostDraw@reddit
Is there a huge difference between nv2 and nv3 SSDs? I want a 2tb storage to replace my 11 year old Seagate barracuda (2tb) but the price hike on SSDs already hurts, since I can see they doubled in price in the last few months, and nv2 is closer, yet still higher by $40, than what an nv3 used to be.
My device likely won't be upgraded during this AI winter, due to a tight budget (it is also a pretty outdated setup, so I'd have to buy a new Pc altogether from scratch)
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
If it's a secondary SSD, not running your OS, either should be OK. If it's for the OS, try to avoid either one.
GhostDraw@reddit
So what should I use for my OS?
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
Something that doesn't use grab bag hardware and flash. Based on PCPP prices, right now, a WD Green SN3000 would be an OK low-end SSD, and the SN5000 would be a good next step up, though it's almost double the price at 1TB.
GhostDraw@reddit
I don't have trusted sellers for the 3000 series, and the ones I can find from western digital from trusted sources are from the sn350 line. Given the gap in performance, compared to the 3000 series, I'd guess the 350 series, despite being half the price and double the storage wouldn't be worth it, would it?
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
Ah, out of stock. The SN350 is OK at 1TB and 2TB. The 480GB and 960GB models are actually pretty bad.
GhostDraw@reddit
This is meant to be a 2tb purchase, so I guess it should be fine
Ethany3k@reddit
looking to get a really good GPU for my current CPU, my GPU right now is pretty bad and looking for an upgrade.
CPU AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core
GPU AMD Radeon RX 6600
if you need for information let me know, Thank you!!
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
Budget?
Ethany3k@reddit
probably under £800, 1k USD
LostTheElectrons@reddit
5070Ti
Ethany3k@reddit
how is that for 1440p gaming
LostTheElectrons@reddit
It is essentially the perfect 1440p high refresh rate card, especially at its $750 MSRP. Approximately 3x the performance of your 6600, and that doesn't even include DLSS or RT performance.
Another option would be the 5080, but that is at least 35% more expensive for only 15% better performance. Often the price is much higher though, with 50%-100% price increase being common.
If you have budget left over, it would likely be better spent on a better monitor. Going for an OLED monitor makes a huge difference for visuals, much more than you would get from slightly higher framerates.
Ethany3k@reddit
do you have a cheaper option closer to 450USD? ill probably get the 5070ti but want to see the differences with paying extra
LostTheElectrons@reddit
5060Ti 16GB would be $429 and 5070 would be $550. Can look up benchmarks to see relative performance in games you want to play, although with RT, DLSS, and MFG it can get a little complicated.
Ethany3k@reddit
alright, thanks for the help
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
With current games, maybe even a little overkill. But, if you have $800 to burn, it and the RX 9070 XT are the best options, and the Geforce is faster.
nroloa@reddit
Your goals (games you are interested in, resolution, ray/path tracing, fps goals etc), your current PSU model and an approximate budget would really help narrow it down.
Ethany3k@reddit
i love games looking nice so ray/path tracing is nice 1440p probably and ill only play games on it. my psu is the Corsair RM750 750 Watt 80 Plus Gold. sorry what do you mean by case models
torbmain123@reddit
How silly is a Radeon VII in 2026?
I currently have an rx580 and would like a moderate gpu upgrade. I have a 1080p 144hz monitor. Instead of buying a budget beast RTX or RX series, I have been considering a Radeon VII. It is a card I have always found to be super cool, both from a design and architecture perspective as well as aesthetically. Besides being a glorified space heater, is there any downside to this? What do you guys think?
n7_trekkie@reddit
Very very silly. RTX 20 series cards still get dlss updates, so something like a 2070 is a much better choice
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Very silly.
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388-2.html
It's out performed by a RTX 3060 which also uses less power and provides more VRAM. Intels budget cards the ARC A750, A770, B570 and B580 would also out perform it.
You don't even need a budget "beast", any modern budget card currently on the market would beat in any test except maybe raw FP32 math.
Yuribu@reddit
I am considering buying a prebuilt gaming pc for the steam frame that I am interested in. I mostly would like to play games like Half Life Alyx, but also No Man’s sky VR and simular games as well as future vr and AA games. Is the pc specified below suitable for that purpose? Price is €1850:
-AMD Ryzen 5 7500F processor, 6 cores/12 threads -Xenith AG400 ARGB cpu koeler -Gigabyte B650 Eagle AX moederbord -32 GB Corsair Vengeance 6000 Mhz DDR5 geheugen (2x 16 GB) -GeForce RTX 5060 Ti videokaart, 16 GB GDDR7 -1 TB Kingston NV3 m.2 ssd -Fractal Pop Air RGB behuizing -650 Watt BeQuiet 80+ Gold voeding -Microsoft Windows 11 Home
TemptedTemplar@reddit
No. That's a €1000 PC with €800 worth of RAM. which is as bad of a ripoff as it sounds like.
Yuribu@reddit
Thank you for your answer! It surprises me though, as in the Netherlands even building the pc yourself does not seem much cheaper if I add the components. Any good tips on where better deals regarding prebuilts are available? Or is it then unavoidable to build it yourself?
TemptedTemplar@reddit
Buy them in Germany if you can take a quick trip. Northern Europe is always gets stiffed with high prices due to the local electronics distributors having functional monopolies.
MlgEpicBanana69@reddit
Hello all, I recently got a second hand PC that has an i5-10600kf that I’ve been looking to upgrade.
I’ve been thinking AM4 since I got a b450 from my previous PC though other than the 5700x, am4 chips have bad availability here
I don’t mind buying something beefier of aliexpress like a x3d but at that point the price with customs ranges from more than double to triple that of the non-x3d stuff so I’m very much on the fence about it
Now ideally I would upgrade to AM5 but it is literally impossible to get ddr5 ram right now, another potential option is to get an 14th gen intel chip with a Z-motherboard since it can run ddr4
For context my current rig has a 3080 and a b460 motherboard (yes I know the chip and ram are locked lol)
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
Don't bother with a 5700X, IMO. Anything less than a 5800XT, or X3D processor, on AM4, will be too minor of an upgrade. A 14th gen will not perform as well on DDR4 as DDR5, but should at least offer a pretty decent performance boost.
redfedric@reddit
Couldn’t find a good priced RAM at the stores near me. Most RAMs were priced at around $300 and would go as high as $500 (converted). I found a T.Force Delta DDR5 CL40 5600 16GBx2 for around $100. Was this a bad decision or will this work for now? I have a 9800X3D, 9070XT, B850 Edge Ti.
BrewingHeavyWeather@reddit
Today, that's a killer deal. It'd be fine, anyway, but you'll especially never notice it with an X3D.
Protonion@reddit
Considering the price difference that's a very sensible choice. Plus with the X3D CPUs the RAM speed makes a smaller difference anyways.
Aleksanterinleivos@reddit
It is slower, but I would nver pay fucking thrice as much for some 6000 CL30 kit, it's not like that's gonna double your FPS or anything.
Plus you can bump the frequency up, I wouldn't be surprised if you get can get close to 6000 without even touching the voltage.
Delicious_Ad_6@reddit
Need help finishing this build
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/zwj2Kq
Main points:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800x3d (550 cad) vs Ryzen 5 9600x (310 cad)
- MOBO: is it a good fit for this build? What about the Gigabyte B850m Gaming X WIFI6E?
- RAM: 2x16 6000MHz CL30 for 480 cad + tax, 2x16 8000MHz CL38 for 380 + tax or 2x32 used corsair vengence for 650 no tax.
Open to other suggestions, mainly for 1080p/1440p AAA story games.
Thanks!
ZeroPaladn@reddit
Strictly gaming - you don't need 64GB of RAM and that shit is so expensive now I would be picking up the cheapest kit you can find.
The kicker is that while the 8000MHz kit is a good deal cheaper, it's also much faster than what's recommended to stick with for AM5 unless you're a fan of manual tuning.
Your range for what you're playing leaves a LOT of questions to be asked around what you're looking to spend in total and what monitor you're pairing with this. "1080p/1440p story games" means you can have your needs met with literally any current gen GPU on the market, to a point. Can you narrow down the games/ideal settings you'd want to play at? Are you looking to lean towards 1440p or 1080p more? Do you already have a monitor you're pairing with this?
Delicious_Ad_6@reddit
Yeah i heard aournd 6000MHz/CL30 is best for AM5. I have a 1080p 27" monitor but im planning on buying a 1440p monitor in the near future (Open to suggestions on these too) so yeah probably lenaing more toward 1440p and for gales like a said most big title AAA story/campaign games (GOW, Dark souls etc)
ZeroPaladn@reddit
If the goal is 1440p story games (probably with higher settings) I'd be focusing on the 5070/Ti and 9070/XT options. The 9600X is a decent pick for all of these, the X3D chips are less important in these kinds of games than racing/sim/competitive titles. If you're doing all kinds of gaming and not just strictly story, the 7800X3D is a nice grab too!
With RAM being what it is, consider looking at the bundles that Newegg.ca and Canada Computers are doing that will help cushion some of the impact of their rocketing price hikes.
Delicious_Ad_6@reddit
Yeah i already got the 9070XT! Just wondering what cpu to pair it with
ZeroPaladn@reddit
9600X if you're strictly playing story games (as those will be mostly GPU bound) or 7800X3D if you want more performance in everything., but there's no wrong answer here.
I also double checked the "bundles" that those sites are running right now and... yeah, they barely exist and they're not putting memory into most of them -.-;; You're on your own.
Delicious_Ad_6@reddit
Thanks! Yeah it's tough :,) What do you of this one? https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/amd-desktop-processors/283326/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d-cpu-asus-tuf-gaming-b850-e-wifi-motherboard-t-force-32gb-d5-6000mhz-cl30-ram.html
ZeroPaladn@reddit
It's.. there. Trying to move down to a 7800X3D, a cheaper board, and marginally more reasonable RAM doesn't net any savings because the bundle is actually not bad for the current market: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/kfJnsp
So yeah, you'll basically have my system :D 9800X3D + 9070XT is a bitchin' combo.
Delicious_Ad_6@reddit
The mother board in that bundle is good right?
ZeroPaladn@reddit
It's fine for what it is - don't worry too much about it!

Thank you!

Look for the RTX 5070/5070ti. Nvidia is the best option for professional work.

Thank you. Is TI worth that much more?

The extra VRAM will help (12 vs. 16GB) in some scenarios and it's a decently more powerful card for gaming as well. If you've playing on a 4K screen I would be looking to the biggest GPU you can afford.

Front mounting an AIO, do you still get issues if COU cooler hose is coming over from the top?
I initially bought a Phantom Spirit 120 for my build, but didn't think things through as I have RGB RAM so the first push fan is raised up quite a bit from the cooler itself. I'm gonna give it a go and check performance however I suspect it will bother me enough to swap it for a AIO eventually anyway.
The case I have (NZXT Flow H5 2024) can only fit a 240mm AIO at the top, therefore to get a 360mm AIO I would need to front mount it and probably run the cooler unit hose over from the top of the AIO. This was always considered bad practise, but I know pump reliability has come a long way in recent times, especially in the cheaper AIO's. On that basis, just looking for some feedback, has anyone done that? Any advice/experiences? Thanks!

Air in the pump is bad, nothing has changed about that.
If you can't fit the front rad so the tubes are on the bottom, you at least want the top of the rad to be the higher than the pump. It's not perfect but it's not as bad as the pump being the highest point either.

Is a li li lancool 207 a reasonable new purchase or should I just reuse my existing Lian Li Lancool II Mesh?
Aleksanterinleivos@reddit
No reason to spend money on a new case if the old one fits your parts and you don't hate how it looks etc.

I'm mostly just that I don't like duct taping over the hole in the front to stop dust, but I didn't know if there were going to be other upsides to switching

Would a noctua nh-u12s be sufficient to cool a 9800X3D?

Yes
