How would the media tell us if there was a dangerous weather situation unfolding?

It’s also been bad in Scarborough, probably not as bad but I almost got stranded at work on Saturday as it snowed for 5 hours after I got there. Making do with what food is in the house as my food delivery was cancelled and I’m not chancing driving. School was shut Monday and Tuesday. Older people crying about school being shut when they still had to go in their day. Despite the fact that taking hundreds of cars off the roads in the morning and afternoon is just safer for everyone. Last snow in November school closed half way through the day and it took nearly two hours for me to get 3 miles home because several cars were stuck and blocking roads. My youngest child’s school is on the same road as the hospital up a hill that is a dead end so only one road on and off it, if cars get stuck they are potentially going to cause problems for ambulances. Had to drop kids to their dad last night, my daughter slipped down our steps. And has fallen over twice this morning and cut herself up pretty badly on the way to school as they are open today as we’ve had rain. Paths are still dangerous as we had three days of heavy snow and -5 temps at night so even with rain there’s still a lot of frozen snow. People calling my kid’s generation soft but my daughter has a bleeding disorder and has cut herself falling. I cannot fathom why people think people should be doing anything but emergency trips when it’s been so bad
