I recently got a SAMSUNG 32" Odyssey G55C Series QHD 1000R Curved Gaming Monitor and I connected it with my ps5 using thr regular HDMI cable can I buy a display port cable that has regular hdmi and hdmi 2.1 to have better image when playing ?? Sorry I’m new to this stuff

PS5 only has a HDMI 2.1 port. You can connect it using a HDMI to DP adapter but it's not recommended. The performance upgrade from DP 1.4 from HDMI 2.0 isn't worth it so you're better off with a proper HDMI cable.

A higher rated HDMI just guarantees higher bandwidth, by being made to higher specifications, in terms of impedance, shielding, and other such stuff. If the current cable works up to the monitor's resolution and refresh rate, then a different cable won't do any good. If you're not seeing your higher refresh rates, though, then maybe an ultra high speed cable could help. But, only if the game also can do it, and those are few and far between.

Ohh ok got it thanks for that

There is pretty much zero benefit for you to get a DP cable over the HDMI that came with the monitor. Just use that one and it should let you run at 1440p 120hz with zero issues for the games that support it.

Ohhhh really wow. I feel stupid yea I was confused cause some said it would offer it and that I would need to buy a DP display port cable. I just bought this monitor because it was on special don’t real know much about these stuff

its a great monitor for sure, I bet your games look really good either way :)
Almost no PS5 games even support 120hz with higher resolutions (more than 1080p) anyways, so I don't think even theoretically you would be missing out on much. Sony did make a few games compatible so they can put "4k 120hz" on the box, but I think its 99% just for marketing.

True and yes games look pretty good on this monitor even tho it’s not expensive

Wont change anything. It will still be held back by the weakest link, in this case the HDMI connection
it would be the exact same except you are using a different port

Ohh wow I see, so what can I do to improve the refresh rate on it? Cause some said I need to have the 2.1 hdmi to have better image

There are different speeds of HDMI cables. If you cable says ultra high speed you have the newest kinds. If not you could try buying one that says it's ultra high speed supporting up to 48Gbps bandwidth for features like 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz and you may see some improvement.

Ohhh ok I’ll try that I appreciate you
