I finally got the email that it will be hitting the dock in 2 weeks plus it going from there to Jersey it will probably take another week or 2 to get here. Besides getting an air pump for the shock and a better seat post, are there any suggestions from anyone that has had one for awhile? Considering i ordered it around thanksgiving I can’t wait 😂. Just trying to get as much information as possible from all the goods to the bad

How do you like the bike I'm assuming you've had some time with it at this point, I've owned some Aventons, juiced, Ecells and am thinking about a Predator...how do you like it?

Upvoted for visibility.
Expecting mine soon as well, got the same email! I’m in SoCal so I’m hoping shipping will be even quicker with less likelihood of damage (I didn't get the insurance). The comment from HypeTime stresses me out, hopefully our batch doesn’t have any lemons. I plan to put a lot of miles on it to replace my car.

😂😂i literally said wtf when he said something because literally I’ve looked and looked and looked and couldn’t find any thing bad on it or them as a company at all. Then ofc less then a month out I see that lol but no I think we should be okay(nothing but positive vibes only). Citizen cycle and electricallwheel on YouTube really stand on the brand in general and they get in detail with the bike in every way that’s what put the icing on the cake after all the research for me.

I have been looking into the overheating issue a lot. The main culprit seems to be the Cruiser/Freedom models actually. In one of Scott Hardestys videos though he overheated either the Scout or Warrior (can’t recall which one). He was driving it hard in the loose sand though that put too much strain on the bike. Once he walked it out of the sand though he was able to restart it and use it like normal.

That’s true now that you’ve said it. Those are the only models I’ve heard so far that have had those issues. If you scroll up human cicada dropped a list of things he was gonna add to his predator which made me do some research on hub sinks. Something I’ll def be doing in the next couple months, it’s just cold here right now and I’m getting some heated gear so me and the bike will be okay for now 😂
stocksareponzi@reddit
Did you get insurance by the way?
Aromatic_Hospital_46@reddit (OP)
Yes I did as I seen some people were having things wrong upon Arrival through the shipping process. I think we will be okay but Im a firm believer in insurance in anything expensive lol
stocksareponzi@reddit
Same man!
Human-Acadia-5109@reddit
I'm also expecting one soon. Here's a preliminary list of modifications I'm planning on:
front fork mount
statorade improved heat disappation
hub heat sink
tannus tire armor and slime filled appropriately sized tube
a car horn
additional running lights + turn signals
front/rear dash cam
2x red rear / white front reflectors for the rim
premium valve caps which match the bike
white front / red rear lights on handlebar end
middle handlebar light pointed at the ground in front of me
a good phone mount
mirrors, only really need the left
2x disc brake lock
white / red light pedals
suspension seat post
my favorite seat
I'm sure there's something I'm missing.
jackssww@reddit
I'm pretty sure statorade only works with direct drive and not the geared hub the wired has. And the hub sinks only work with certain motor types.
My experience flat out is way better than slime have never got a flat with FO. Tannus is more unnecessary weight and cost, especially when the tires that come on this bike are thicker.
And can get a better value dash cam, DJI action 4 for for like 200 bucks. It's close to the best camera quality you can get from a camera that size.
stocksareponzi@reddit
That’s a lot! I plan to just use the Kryptonite Evolution 1090 as my bike lock, I live in a relatively safe area.
Regarding the phone mount, have you done a lot of research on it? I actually have the same one in my Amazon cart right now but I haven’t looked at other brands. (Their cheaper one seemed to have more issues in the reviews.)
Human-Acadia-5109@reddit
I did a fair amount of comparison shopping on the phone mount and have the wired version connected to my Ride1Up 700 series. And the linked version is waiting to be used on a shelf. The predator's has a usb-c charing port so I'm not going through the hassel of wiring in a qi charger.
Reasons why that specific mount: the way it holds the phone leaves most corner and bottom buttons touchable. The additional shocks on the back definitely absorb noticeable vibration. Lastly the multiple degrees of articulation on the mount was really convenient. For a crowded set of handlebars, being able to mount it anywhere on the center third of the handlebars and have the display centered near the frame is quite nice.
If I ever need a third phone mount, it'll be another one of these.
stocksareponzi@reddit
My bad, now that I look at it, I had this one in my cart.
Human-Acadia-5109@reddit
checked amazon because it's been like 3 years since I did my innitial shopping. At that point, the BRVK-whatever was more alone in it's style. It seems to have caught on in the time since then. Maybe somebody else does it better, but the core design being so much more prevalent now than then kinda shows that we collectively trend toward better design over time. This is I think the most I've noticed a previously relatively diverse market rapidly converge.
weed, man
Human-Acadia-5109@reddit
and now we're returning the shelf'd one to get the version that's inexplicably twice the price. I'm sure it's more premium somehow.
don't have kids, kids. more money for fun shit.
Human-Acadia-5109@reddit
oooh, if you search BIKE phone mount you get a lot more of the cheap garbage mounts.
stocksareponzi@reddit
I had that thought too! Thanks for the breakdown!
Aromatic_Hospital_46@reddit (OP)
I just realized. I appreciate you for dropping the link for everything 🙏🏾🙏🏾 you are theee goat
Aromatic_Hospital_46@reddit (OP)
Something I’m definitely saving. I appreciate this a lot. I was wondering some of things I could get for the bike but besides those two things the only other thing I thought about was a phone mount 😂. But I hope nothing but the best for the both of us and who ever gets theirs and puts 500 miles on it 1st come back and let each other know how it’s going💪🏾

I had tons of issues with my Wired. Out of the box the freewheel, derailleur and derailleur gaurd were damaged. Can't really put too much blame as that probably happened during shipping, but it was mentioned as a ongoing issue in a recent interview with the CEO due to issues with package weight or something. Just a bullshit excuse the guy came up with.
I also had to replace the clutch twice. One was bad out of the box with a loud grind. The second was good for a couple of weeks and did the same.
Biggest issue was that it overheated when I went up any type of hill from the start. It didn't even have to be steep. If I babied it, I could keep the temps under 270ish, but any hill would throttle the temp. And riding the bike for over an hour guaranteed the bike would overheat.
Turns out it seems as if both issues are fairly common as Ive found numerous instances of the same problem. Here's just a few:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ebikes/s/5eEsApikHu
https://youtu.be/5eYKuVu9PAw?si=nTiOxH9XMpwIWseq
When I brought up the problem of overheating, I was initially ignored and eventually was told that I was riding it too hard. After I repaired the clutch the second time, I sold it for a substantial loss. I'll never buy a Wired bike again.
stocksareponzi@reddit
Which year/model did you have? Just curious for future reference.
Infinite-Poet-9633@reddit
I don't think those geared hub motors can handle the Watts that the controllers putting out. Maybe if you haven't got another bike considered DIY with a direct drive motor you can push a lot more power to them.
Aromatic_Hospital_46@reddit (OP)
Thanks for your input. I’ve seen nothing but good things about wired but like everything in life there’s always some sort of flaw. I watched and clicked the links you dropped and I appreciate this angle I haven’t seen yet. I’m hoping for the best and I apologize everything you’ve gone and are going through with yours. I hope all works out in the end keep going 💪🏾
HypeTime@reddit
Yeah I read up on it and found nothing but good things about the company. Its the main reason I ordered it. Unfortunately my experience was horrible. Hopefully everything goes good for you. I have a new bike on the way and Im crossing my fingers that this one works out better.
Aromatic_Hospital_46@reddit (OP)
I also have an another dual motor e-bike I started out with called the trafly d2 rs to replace it for putting so many miles on my car too. My problem is I got used to that power fast and I wanted something I would not only need time to really get used to but something I know I can do more when I want but when I want not when I need too
Asphinx7A@reddit
When on bike trails show respect. Turn lights on during daytime rides and always wear a helmet. It’s heavy so go easy and take your time learning and understanding the controller, you’re not in a rush. Put FlatOut in both tires because god forbid you get a flat tire 25 miles from the house and you’ve got to push it, as manually pedaling is out the question. Purchase a bike rack now to get it home. Keep chain oiled and tires always inflated to spec and always do routine maintenance. This is a beast of a machine and not a normal Ebike and is not meant to be toyed with. Always get your head right before riding and never ride it drunk or hungover.

Have you worked out the licensure almost certainly required to use it on the road?
