She was a proud anti-Trump Democrat all the way up until it was more convenient for her to be a contrarian Independent, all the way up until it was more convenient for her to be MAGA.
Idk why everyone is shocked she seems to be devoid of consistent values.
paganpoetbluelagoon@reddit
She shouldn’t run. She has no standards, values or self-respect or dignity.
TheGreenBehren@reddit
The role of DNI is not to conduct foreign policy. Her job is simply to discover and tell the whole truth to the president.
If she resigns or is fired, then, somebody could jump into that role who does not tell the truth. So picture that scenario where POTUS invaded a country based on faulty information, then, compare it to one based on good information.
Which is better for America?
Dukakis2028@reddit
How many times and how badly does Tulsi have to fail you for you to realise she's either useless, complicit, or both?
TheGreenBehren@reddit
Where did she fail exactly? Her job Aa DNI his very specific to summarizing intel, basically.
Did she give bad intel? Because that would be the only way she is allowed to fail.
Tuco422@reddit
She fired people who provided intel that went Trump regime
She fired two top intelligence officials, Michael Collins and Maria Langan-Riekhof, because their report found no evidence that the Venezuelan government was directing the movements or operations of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang in the U.S..
This was the main justification for Alien Enemy act and part of justification of this regime change
TheGreenBehren@reddit
What makes you think that SHE fired them and it wasn’t just Trump who made her fire them?
People who study Trump’s history know he likes to utilize “fall guys” as his lieutenants. He makes the decisions for them, then, if there is blowback then they take the fall. Tulsi has the “Assad patsy” narrative so if anything goes wrong, he will fire her and blame it on that. That chip on her shoulder is likely why she was picked, in addition to the obvious opposition to the impeachment and weaponization of quiet skies.
But putting aside the politics… it’s true. I have personal experience with Venezuelans and Trendy Agua. Whether you are a democrat or a Republican, they are attacking America.
Maybe having people like Tulsi in the room are the difference between another “regime change war” and a “regime change kidnapping arrest” instead. The difference between a 6 trillion sledgehammer and a $100 million scalpel.
The same can be said about the Ukraine and Israel conflict. It could have been wayyyyyy more messy. Some of the conflict is inevitable. So it becomes a question of which tool you utilize for the inevitable outcome. Not whether or not the inevitable is inevitable.
Politics is a Rubik’s cube group project. You don’t just walk into Mordor and change everything. Sometimes your contribution is simply flipping the script, simply changing the methodology, removing the blowback, changing the alliances. It’s not black and white as OP makes it out to be.
beavis617@reddit
I will go with useless!
Accurate-Beyond-9956@reddit
Sat next to her in a café in Moscow the other day. She was having a chat with her bestest friend Assad. She was fuming over that Maduro wouldn't be able to join them at Putins datja next weekend.
IndividualFlat8500@reddit
She is in turtle mode. She is hiding I suppose.
Sithlordandsavior@reddit
She's been disappointingly quiet. I wonder if she's afraid of saying anything because if she does Trump will like nuke Hawaii or something. Or perhaps she is complicit. I like to hope she's just afraid.
Dukakis2028@reddit
How many times, and/or how badly, does Tulsi have to fail you for you to realise she's either useless, complicit, or both?
Sithlordandsavior@reddit
Man, I just joined the sub when she was running for president lmao I don't pay attention except when she got her new cabinet position. I had hoped shed do what she said but so far I'm seeing nothing.
TrevinoDuende@reddit
She turned her back on the base pretty shortly after her campaign
Dukakis2028@reddit
Even if Tulsi Gabbard still has any principles at all aside from her own fame and power, which I personally doubt, what good are these deeply held principles if she's too cowardly to speak out?
Our "potential heroine" just sits back and cowers as Trump and Rubio go off on their illegal war. If she has any respect for the woman she used to be, she should resign in protest.
BlondieTVJunkie@reddit
As a Cubam American, I can promise you that I know more about this and number one we did not invade-- we extracted. this has been done many times in the past for criminal activity, the Venezuela people do not agree with this way of thinking, and the Cuban people do not agree with this way of thinking the history of the oil and geopolitical landscape is far too complex for the statement.
SeasonsGone@reddit
I feel like the thoughts of the Venezuelan and Cuban people, while valid, are not why any of this happened.
catchingtherosemary@reddit
I'm sure a condition of her job is to not criticize Trump on foreign policy. Y'all need to relax. Geez Tulsi has got it rough. Whether or not you agree with Trump's actions in Venezuela you gotta give at least realize Tulsi would not do things the same way as Trump.
OriginnalThoughts@reddit
This is the way I look at it, too. I mean, how could the head of DNI publicly criticize the head Executive, the President? It's better she be in that position to do what good she can than some neocon war hawk or AI slop servant. I'm so curious of what she's done so far in that position though, and what it looks like.
However, I can't say I'm still a super fan of hers. My own political trajectory followed hers, but I'm fully disillusioned with the right and what was supposed to be "America First" (at least the idealized version).
Hoonin_Kyoma@reddit
She’s been conspicuously quiet on all matters foreign policy as of late, or at least what I have seen of her posts. I think she’s been silenced by the administration’s hawks.
PrimeLiberty@reddit (OP)
Yeah this is absolutely a Rubio initiative that she had no say in. Thank you for your votes anti -interventionists, just wait til you see what we have planned for Cuba!
WashedMasses@reddit
If we can topple communist Cuba in an afternoon, I'm kinda for it.
SeasonsGone@reddit
She may have no say in it, but she’s more than happy to facilitate intelligence. It’s not like DNI wouldn’t be deeply involved with this operation.
Panzerkatzen@reddit
Hoonin_Kyoma@reddit
Wouldn’t surprise me at this rate.
Random-Cpl@reddit
“No more regime change wars!”
Boopsk1@reddit
Yet we have no troops in country.....
romerom@reddit
lol you really think Tulsi is behind this? gtfo
bam214_bam@reddit
So alleviating the pain and suffering Maduro is causing his people doesn’t make this the right move? I bet if Biden ordered this he would be the big hero
kenuffff@reddit
We,re invading them for oil is the most low iq take on this. First off the us doesn’t need oil , we export oil. This is more about weakening Iran and by proxy weakening China and Russia our main geopolitical rivals. It’s more about that than anything else. Unfortunately, regime changes are more about weakening larger countries that utilize that regime, as it always has been the revolutionary war in the us was funded by the UKs rivals in a larger war. It forced the uk to pick between the us and India , which they wisely chose India
CuteBox7317@reddit
Trump literally just admitted that America will be “heavily” involved in Venezuela’s oil production.
Trump just pardoned a Honduran drug lord but now captured another
The US has no moral ground to stand up to Putin or China. Right now, Putin can literally invade Kiev and capture Zelenskyy and the he can point to the precedent set by the US.
Weakening China and Iran? China already has footing in the Caribbean and South America. What’s Trump gonna do? Invade other China-aligned countries?
kenuffff@reddit
Ok he can say whatever he wants it’s not over oil
patdashuri@reddit
It’s not only over oil.
PopperChopper@reddit
I’m sorry but if Trump said it was over oil, that is the biggest evidence that it’s not for oil.
Politicians and media are constantly playing hide the queen. It’s the difference between the narrative and the real reasons. Idk if the person you’re replying to is correct, but it’s the best alternative reason I’ve heard other than “oil”.
Case in point, we never invaded Iraq for WMDs. Bush and Chaney knew there were no WMDs. Meanwhile, thats what everyone and the media said for years.
patdashuri@reddit
You’re right, sort of. Trump said oil because it’s acceptable to his base, particularly after he said that Venezuela “stole our oil”. It wasn’t a true/untrue thing. What he didn’t say was that Putin told him to. That Putin now has us in a headlock. Our own oligarchs will never let go of this sheikdom they’ve been handed and they know who could do that. Our MIC will never let go of this “off the ranch” R&D playground, and they know who could take it away. Our intelligence services will never let go of this new Guantanamo, and they know who could close it. And our military will never let go of this strategic gate across the gulf and so close to Panama, and they know who could ruin it.
974080@reddit
It's also about the drugs that have came into America through Venezuela, drugs that have killed hundreds of thousands of people in the United States.
tipper420@reddit
Bahahahaha
bigmt99@reddit
True, Trump kidnapped Maduro to give him a pardon Juan Orlando Hernandez
NoSauceRoss@reddit
Thinking it's about anything but oil is a negative iq take. It's weakening our own selves and no one else
bigmt99@reddit
I would go back to this sub a year ago and victory lap, but the bots have prolly been deactivated by now
jstohler@reddit
Yay! Is America great again or what?
Cholliday09@reddit
You’re an idiot.
