I return them for credit. Its the new returnable bottles.
View on Reddit #75284760

BadDogCharley@reddit

You can reuse them.
View on Reddit #75193562

Special_South_8561@reddit

You'd need a heavy pair of dikes to snip that
View on Reddit #75170139

txgax@reddit

Yes! Always yes. You must save the wildlife.
View on Reddit #75152510

FryTheDog@reddit

Recycle them to a bottle shop, they're extremely reusable
View on Reddit #74907928

NPC261939@reddit

That's good to know. I have a four foot high stack of these sitting around.
View on Reddit #74927932

FryTheDog@reddit

Check with your local bottle shop first, but I drop them off every time I buy something. They use them for mixes six packs
View on Reddit #74947685

NPC261939@reddit

I'll do just that. I'd rather see them used than "recycled" since they'll likely end up in the landfill anyway.
View on Reddit #74972139

Presence_Usual@reddit

the place near me that accepts them (from that PakTech-opi link above) IS a brewery that can reused them.
View on Reddit #75044436

idlehand79@reddit

https://paktech-opi.com/recycle-program/ is a recycling location where you can drop them off.
View on Reddit #74909387

Brewers7882INF@reddit

The tap room by me takes them back and reuses them on the items they sell retail.
View on Reddit #74908084

mac117@reddit

Same and they’ll serve you a free 5oz pour for each one you bring back
View on Reddit #74911603

hoagie_tech@reddit

What? I have about 10 of these waiting to be brought back. Your spot gives a 5oz pour for EACH?!?!
View on Reddit #74911995

mac117@reddit

Yes, but I should amend that they only will give one if you return one with their sticker on it
View on Reddit #74912025

hoagie_tech@reddit

Ah that makes sense. I’d buy into a free short pour as incentive to come back and probably buy another 4pk.
View on Reddit #74913158

PuzzleheadedAbies678@reddit

Free beer? Count me in.
View on Reddit #75008486

Just_a_guy81@reddit

LPT. Buy into a sticker printer instead
View on Reddit #74974587

Cactus-4222@reddit

I have thousands from ordering beer since COVID.
View on Reddit #74942997

AllOfTheSoundAndFury@reddit

The brewery down the street gives me a free growler fill for about thirty of them.
View on Reddit #74938165

dgodwin1@reddit

Damn. I've got nearly 100.... I've got to find a tap room that offers that kind of deal
View on Reddit #74971497

Brewers7882INF@reddit

I’m going to have to tell my taproom to up their game.
View on Reddit #74912369

skaomatic32@reddit

We get a free growler fill for 32 of these !

I recycle plastic. Explain how it might end up in the ocean once picked up by my local garbage company
View on Reddit #74907993

Deep-Interest9947@reddit

Your local garbage company sells it and it goes by boat to china.
View on Reddit #74908288

VinylHighway@reddit

Not according to my research
View on Reddit #74986162

CincySnwLvr@reddit

China doesn’t even buy our plastic anymore. It goes straight to your local landfill. Plastic recycling is a myth.
View on Reddit #74909084

Deep-Interest9947@reddit

My city gave up on our recycling dumpsters altogether
View on Reddit #74909115

Sufficient_Turn_9209@reddit

And may or may not end up dumped in the ocean before it makes it to China
View on Reddit #74908463

Deep-Interest9947@reddit

Exactly
View on Reddit #74908657

psilosophist@reddit

It’s just gonna end up in a landfill anyway. Plastic recycling is mostly a sham. We used to just ship it to China to get burned but they stopped doing that, so now we just burn or bury it here.
View on Reddit #74909291

VinylHighway@reddit

So I don’t need to cut it
View on Reddit #74909838

Embarrassed_Key_4539@reddit

You do, but they don’t
View on Reddit #74908254

-Julya-@reddit

It could fall onto the ground during transfer from bin to truck and get washed into the drains and then to the watershed.
View on Reddit #74908177

Pumperkin@reddit

How many times can they reasonably be reused? I carry a six-pack from the bottom as I don't trust the lock mechanism not to set a can loose unexpectedly.
View on Reddit #74984186

newhappyrainbow@reddit

Those are recyclable but I still cut the old six pack rings even though I live in a completely landlocked state that I’m certain isn’t putting garbage in the ocean.
View on Reddit #74934052

pagan7poetry@reddit

They are not actually recyclable in the US
View on Reddit #74976108

YourGuyK@reddit

I don't see how that could get caught around an animal's mouth or neck.
View on Reddit #74908926

NotYourSexyNurse@reddit

You underestimate the stupidity of ducks.
View on Reddit #74909851

Inc-Roid@reddit

I'll take a duck's intelligence over the average human
View on Reddit #74918310

NotYourSexyNurse@reddit

I don’t know man. I’ve raised ducks and I’m in a rural red area. Their stupidity is pretty much the same for some of them.
View on Reddit #74918935

I don't know what that even is...
View on Reddit #74948930

Fabulous_Brick22@reddit

View on Reddit #74948310

Lastofthehaters@reddit

No, take them back
View on Reddit #74930733

MotherofaPickle@reddit

Oofda. I have put myriad of these in the recycling without even thinking about it. I buy local beer, so I’ll ask around, but I have the feeling I’m going to have to buy a stronger pair of kitchen scissors henceforth.
View on Reddit #74918900

theUmo@reddit

We are saving them to put on top of our unfinished soda or beer cans.
View on Reddit #74917498

polygonalopportunist@reddit

Asking the real questions, these are trying times and we must seek council
View on Reddit #74916677

Own_Picture_6442@reddit

Fuck. I’ve clocked like almost 3k different beers on Untappd. I’ve recycled a LOT of these. Now I feel bad because I never thought to cut them like the soda plastics
View on Reddit #74914911

gerrysaint33@reddit

You can send them to my friends brewery
View on Reddit #74914767

a-ha_partridge@reddit

Show up to the beer store with them and load them back up
View on Reddit #74914231

Dear-Discussion2841@reddit

No? I'm actually so glad to learn via this thread that they can be reused, I'll be asking around in my area for who can take them.
View on Reddit #74911481

sobeitharry@reddit

Our brewery takes them but we do cut them into circles to use a caps in the summer to keep flies out of cans. Great for the pool.
View on Reddit #74910900

Conscious_Drawer8356@reddit

I always give them back before I leave the brewery or Farmer’s Market. If purchased in a grocer I save them to give back a brewery
View on Reddit #74910870

SteveEcks@reddit

I worked at a brewery, we just took them back. Tons of customers would bring them back for us. We would organize by color, clean and sanitize, and they were good to go again. Some get a lil worn out, then become recyclables.
View on Reddit #74910718

larryfamee@reddit

2 cuts across from each other, nipping the center thing outta there in the process. Safe!
View on Reddit #74910546

Klutzy-Delivery-5792@reddit

No. Take them back to the beer store (or weed store if it's an infused beverage).
View on Reddit #74910215

I do and let my cat smack them around the kitchen like they’re hockey pucks.

View on Reddit #74909314

I use them to mix small amounts of paint for my miniatures but I didn’t realise they can be recycled for a deposit. That’s good to know!

I take mine back to my local fave brewery, they're always happy to get them back to reuse.
View on Reddit #74908869

kl1n60n3mp0r3r@reddit

Nope. Just recycle. Some breweries will give you a deposit for them and you can get I back when you return them.
View on Reddit #74908354

Some of the breweries that use these will take them back if you return them to the package store.
