Reputable Air Duct Cleaning Companies

We are moving into a house that had deferred maintenance for years. Not sure how many years the HVAC was not working and I find myself needing to get the ducts cleaned. I'm looking for a good reputable company that anyone has used. Some of the vents show visible mold.

would you mind sharing who used to clean them?

They didn't do a good job

6k is wild and it is definitely good that you walked away from that. A lot of these duct places are just scam in a van setups. Since you just moved in definitely check the dryer vent too because people always obsess over the HVAC but ignore the lint in the walls which is a huge fire risk. I had 1st Choice Residential handle ours when we moved. Jeff is a vet and super honest and they do the vents and fireplaces way cheaper without the upsell nonsense

ngl 6k is absolute insanity, glad u didn't pay that. most of those hvac duct places r basically just "scam in a van" ops. if u just moved into a place with deferred maintenance, make sure u actually get the dryer vent checked too—everyone cleans the hvac but forgets the lint buildup in the wall which is a legit fire risk. i used 1st choice residential (1stchoiceresidential .com) when we moved. jeff is a navy vet and super honest... they do the dryer vent and fireplace stuff way cheaper and don't try to pull that 6k nonsense. gl with the move.

I used Space Air Duct, they cleaned 6 air conditioners at my house and I really liked their service. They came quietly, cleaned quickly, and left everything spotless as if they were never her

I used a local guy last month who was great. I can find his info if you still need it?

Visible mold on vents is definitely a sign you need deeper inspection – you may need professional air quality testing, not just cleaning. Also check if the company offers a warranty.

Don't can anyone in here dropping their own business. 90% of duct cleaning companies are garbage. Be very discerning.
Saying this as someone who owns my own AC company.

We used ZeroRez Dallas amd had a good experience with them

Whats the ballpark cost for that?

Depends on the size of the house but we have a ~2500sqft house and the cleaning alone was ~$500 IIRC and then we added a fogging of the handler and cleaning the actual motor fan. Both of those were ~250-300 each.
I think our all in cost was around $1200

Thanks
