Companies that help get your CDL

What companies will pay for u to get your CDL, and get u home every weekend? I've got 4 years of experience OTR, but I didn't renew my CDL 7 years ago, and want to get back in the field.

It's not the worst thing to get your CDL with a company, but you will probably have to agree to run for them for a while, usually at least a year or 120,000 miles, something like that. The better ones pay you while you're training. If you say where you are (like state or region) people can maybe give you recommendations

Any knowledge you can give me for starting out and avoiding OTR contracts? I am located in California/Bay Area if that helps. I am trying to avoid CR england... thanks in advance. 🫡

Are there any companies based in Minnesota

WIOA grant. Prime trucking, Schneider

This. Google WIOA. If possible, try to avoid getting your CDL through a company.

But say I do get my CDL on my own, companies that get u home daily AND pay decently want RECENT experience as well, so would going through a company kind of knock out 2 birds with 1 stone?

WIOA Grant. Or Pay for it yourself. The last resort is going through a company.

WIOA?

With 4 years of previous experience, don't waste your time with the OTR mega-carriers. Look into LTL companies like Old Dominion, Estes, or ABF. They have 'Dock-to-Driver' programs where they pay for your CDL school while you work the dock, and you're home every day or at least every weekend.
Since you already know how to handle a rig, you'll breeze through it. Avoid the OTR training companies unless you want to be stuck away from home for 3 weeks at a time just to pay off the tuition.

My 4 years of experience is basically irrelevant now. It was from 2014-2018.

how old are you?
what is your medical fitness?
are you just looking for like a drop and hook or an athletic position that touches the freight?

I'm 32, I'm not nearly the athlete I once was, but I'm in good shape still (6'3" 185 lbs), and I'd be fine with either.
