In my job it's really obvious if you're not putting in much effort. Plus, I get paid commission so it's in my interest to try and make my projects successful. I produce conferences and I then have to fly out to run them, so if it's not produced well I only hurt myself 😂

I think I will be mostly splitting my time between trying to keep my job during the massive redundancies my employer announced just before Christmas, and trying to decide whether this is actually a sign from life to get out of there and find a new job whatever happens...

I don't really remember much of the first few months due to being spaced out on pain meds so I have no idea what I did then. After that, I read a lot, watched a lot of films, listened to a lot of music. I was fairly limited due to not being very mobile or being able to sit for much longer than 10 minutes at a time. Part of me feels like I've been off work for about a month but another part feels like it's been 10 years.

Got diagnosed with osteoarthritis at the start of the year and, after a long time of ignoring leg pain (as you do), ended up bed ridden and needed a hip replacement. Had the surgery at the end of May and had a few ups and downs afterwards, needing a lot of physio and some follow up procedures. Recovery has been made more difficult by osteo in my feet and knees progressing. Things are much better than they were but I think this is the start of a downward slope where all my joints start peacing out.

We're being outsourced, should be TUPE'd over to someone but the tender hasn't even gone out yet. We're in limbo. I do like my job up to a point but I'm also thinking about going for another job. The trouble is I'm getting on now and even if someone wants me, my joints are shot, so long standing jobs are not going to work for me. Also, one of the team is retiring in March and not being replaced, we're a team of (should be) 8 who work 24 hours a day in shifts. One person down really affects us so the overtime will be awful. We're all reaching burnout as it is. I'm not looking forward to this year at all.

Started working in retail/sales in May after promising myself I'd never return. Needs must and all that. My plan is to leave the job and go back to freelancing/self employment if I can. I'm going to try and hit it hard; reach out to contacts and potential clients, revamp my portfolio/website, maybe do an online course or two. I miss working from home so much.

Probably go for the promotion I've been saying all of last year I don't want. And then given our new contract and open season on overtime just work the summer out as much as I can manage. It's gonna be hell at times with 60+ hour weeks but I've things I want and if that means just throwing this summer away to get them then so be it. I've always the winter to look forward to when our work dies off.

Strange one really. Have always looked to progress in my current job to find my ceiling. However I am currently working in a team that is all great people and I enjoy going to work with them. The trouble with this is we are seen as outperforming the other groups so there is rumbling of splitting us up to try and bring levels up in those other groups. The next step up will be away from them and lots more headaches in terms of managing a large group with varying degrees of professionalism. Not sure whether to accept my lot and just enjoy where I am or continue to push and personally achieve more but not enjoy it so much

Self employed, got around a years worth of work ahead of me, plan on dragging it out as long as possible. Client isnt too bothered on timescale, means he gets to spread payment over a longer period. Gives me a chance to focus on other things in my life as well as work

Bare minimum. A colleague left a few months ago and they told me I had to cover her workload until a replacement was hired. Now they've decided they're not recruiting, so I'm stuck doing two jobs for the same pay as before. I should probably be looking elsewhere, but I don't have the energy to deal with all that right now.
