What’s one very British way you usually spend New Year’s Day?

Slobbing out around my parents with the kid, we're having a nice beef dinner tomorrow and we usually spend some of the morning watching other countries NYE celebrations on YouTube - tonight is only reserved for London's! Me and kid will probably go for a stroll and/or to one of the football courts for a bit of a kick around together. Evening is reserved for a movie or a few things he likes on YouTube before bed. (Though we are getting bedtime arguments now because other kids laugh at his bedtimes we have set, as they all seem to go much later than he does even on school nights. He's a grumpy, argumentative little so and so if he stays up late and the kids 'laughing' always complain about being tired, are off school, sick and look knackered all the bloody time. 2am bedtime - I think the fuck not.)
