Should I get a 1080p monitor or 1440p monitor for my RTX 5060 build?

I got this prebuilt off of Costco on a deal for $860, and don't really know what kind of monitor to pair it with

What monitor to use for graphic card 5060
Fragluton@reddit
I'm going to say 1080P as that is a pretty low end GPU and not sure what CPU you have. So i'd go the lower res to keep the framerate up a bit.
PitifulEvidence5897@reddit
Fragluton@reddit
What is low end then if the 5060 isn't? I say it's low end, you say it's not. The performance and specs speak for themselves. 8GB isn't enough for AAA titles at 1440p, that's just facts. Plenty of reviews show the fps tanks. 8GB is the definition of LOW these days.

The build has an Intel Core Ultra 5 225F

Yeah i'd go with 1080P, there is nothing wrong with 1080P gaming. Yes 1440P is nicer, but the hardware needed to run it is higher. I only went to 1440P this year. Previously I was running 1080 ultrawide 144hz and it was great for my online FPS. It really does depend what you want to play though.
Frosttidey@reddit
Also depends on what he's playing. Older games will run just fine at 1440p.

If I have an i9 tenth gen and rtx 5060 should I use 1440p
Ok-Friend5911@reddit (OP)
I would, but the 8 gigs of vram in the 5060 is truly what holds the card back, but if you prefer visuals and just a better experience then go 1440p and don't look back
frodan2348@reddit
The 5060 is not capable of providing good performance levels for 1440p in modern, demanding games.
If you want to play modern AAA games, the experience will be better at 1080p. The 5060 will not provide enough performance at 1440p.
If all you play is older, less demanding games, then 1440p will be fine.
Monitors have gotten VERY cheap in the past few years, so don't worry about the "future-proofing" aspect of this.

What do you think for world of tanks?

Look up benchmarks bro.

1440p is the sweet spot now days, and it became the standard for gaming. Go for 1080p if you play competitive games such as PvP fps, where you need more than 180fps. Otherwise don’t worry, you will be able to play at smooth 100+ fps at 1440p with medium settings and any games (: still playing smooth 100+ fps on 1440p, with a 3060 12gb.

1440p wont hurt anything to be future proof

What would be a good amount of hz to have with it?
Sad_Spring9182@reddit
If you do go 1440p (which your card will struggle with many games and you might have to put the graphics settings and resolution down which won't look as good as native 1080p), 60-144hz would be plenty for that card. Next is deciding between tn vs isp vs va. I recommend ISP for best clarity and balance but not so great darks.

1080p. While you could play some games at 1440p, it's going to be a compromised experience and there will be plenty of games you're just not going to get playable* at that resolution. The RTX 5060, especially with its 8GB of VRAM, is just not a 1440p GPU.
*I admit, "playable" is entirely subjective. You might be perfectly fine with 30-ish fps, low graphical settings, and the occasional stutter or slightly noticeable input lag.

Would a 24 inch or 27 inch be better for 1080p?
StompsDaWombat@reddit
Ideally, you want a 24" monitor for 1080p because you get better pixel density which makes the image sharper. But, depending on how good your vision is and how close you sit to your monitor, you might not notice a major difference if you were to get a 27" 1080p monitor - when gaming, anyway, but text is going to look slightly worse on a 27" 1080p monitor.
Equal_Magician_546@reddit
If you really want to jump to 1440p you can always lower graphics settings and play with mixed settings. You’ll have to rely on upscaling technology and it’s gotten pretty good compared to years ago. You can definitely find a 150-200$ 1440p 27 in 144hz+ monitor. Monitors have gotten very affordable and helps future proof you setup once you decide you want to upgrade your prebuilt.
