New driving licence after name change - how long?

Does anybody have any recent experience of submitting the D1 form to DVLA for a name change, specifically how long did it take to get the new licence back? I read on the gov website it takes up to 3 weeks, but wondered if anyone received it more quickly/slowly in practice.

How long did it take in the end? I stupidly sent mine not recorded and it’s been 2 weeks. Over the phone they said they can’t tell me whether it’s been received or not, so worried it’s now lost and they’ll force me to pay for a new one.

How long did it take for yours to come back in the end? I'm currently going through the process now so trying to gauge if i'm just being impatient lol

get on the phone to them - did you post your application tracked? They lost my last one before I gave them the tracking then it magically got sent to me not long after

I applied via post to change my V5 and driving licence when we got married and it took less than 2 weeks from post to receipt

Often much quicker. Not a name change but my last change was back in about a week.

Thanks, was that a postal application?
