Broke off day 2 of 7…
(LW Aurora, 2.5 years of 7/7 schedule use)
Anyone have any feedback on this TravelPro? Says 23.5”. Think I’ll get dinged for certain carry on restrictions?

Unfortunately the Aurora bags had to cheap out somewhere to be the affordable line.
The LW Stealth are significantly better and don’t chance any resistance on the handles, where the Aurora feels like you’re forcing it to move.
Just buy a better LW bag or a BR bag. The Aurora handles suck, and that style isn’t going to be any better on the TravelPro.

I bought the LuggageWorks Maverick 18 months ago and it’s been an absolute piece of shit bag.

Funny enough, I had my stealth premiere handle break on month 2 of using it. But customer service was so nice, they shipped me a whole new bag for free. So far this one has been holding up for 2 years

Great to hear. I’ve had my Stealth bag since back in the day when they were issued to us by AA. My son actually has it now, but that bag has been beaten to hell, all the metal is bent, the side pouches have been sewn back on, rips repaired, and the handle is twisted AF after some dumbass ramper threw it over the side of the jetbridge without the velcro loop being secured around the handle.
LW makes a good bag and they stand behind them. I just swing into Crew Outiftters when it needs something.

Must've just been a manufacturing defect. Good on them for covering it.

LuggageWorks is straight up garbage now.
Grand-Jacket-8782@reddit
You bought their cheapest product… I’ve had my LW Stealth for over 5 years and I’ve never had to replace anything on it. And it’s been through some pretty serious abuse.

Time to move to a 2 wheel Briggs and Riley.
KaJuNator@reddit
This is the way.

Luggageworks...until it doesn't. I hated mine. It needed wheel replacements every 2-3 months and the zippers started breaking while the ink was still wet on my ATP certificate. I was so glad when the rampers finally broke the bottom plate because it gave me a reason to ditch that turd.

Thank you. I half figured it was a ‘send it in’ thing so didn’t even bother looking. Reckon this will get me through til I find more permanent betterment

The great thing about travel pro is a lot of the parts are replaceable.
sykotyctendencies@reddit
Travelpro is junk. Had one and it lasted 3 months. I've had my LW Stealth for 12 years now and aside from replacing wheel bearings every few years, it's been solid
latedescent@reddit
First time I’ve ever heard this. Going on 6 years with one and it’s been perfect.
Independent_Nose_949@reddit
That LW is garbage, but the stealth one with a metal handle does just fine. You got the cheapest one and paid the price like many of us did.
homeinthesky@reddit
I’ve used travelpro for the last 14 years. Never had any issues with them. First one lasted 12 years, second one is two years in. Unless I’m on a crj700, never had any issues with overhead bin space.
tailwheel307@reddit
I think everyone with a standard size crew bag has issues in any CRJ if the closet is already full.
espike007@reddit
I have a complete set of TravelPro and they’re very solid. I have the flight crew elite models, not the cheap stuff you get at Nordstrom Rack or Marshalls.
Maclunkey4U@reddit
A little speed tape and you're good as new. Plus more aerodynamic.
LockPickingPilot@reddit
Strong bag is strong .4 years of RJs and 4 years of mainline. Only a bearing went out in all that time
flighty-foodie@reddit
I ditched my LW for this exact bag and I absolutely love it. Way more storage, love that it expands. I had doubts about the removable J-hook at first but I have never had an issue with it and I actually quite like that I can take it off for personal travel/gate checking/etc instead of my old LW that was just screwed into the frame.

I was looking at different airline restrictions and some limit at 22” and worried I might catch some grief. I’m charter so I wind up on various airlines getting to and fro. You don’t think it’d be an issue?
flighty-foodie@reddit
This is actually the only suitcase I own (NYC apartment problems, lol) so I use it for both work and personal travel. I’ve never had anyone mention it at all traveling in or out of uniform, nonrev or paid ticket. But YMMV of course
flighty-foodie@reddit
My airplane has flight deck storage, but I’ve fit it into CRJ/E170 overhead bins no problem.
CaptMcMooney@reddit
It's a feature, reduces weight by eliminating parts
