Personally, I would have preferred a subwoofer like the one Poco makes rather than a gimmicky fan; otherwise, I’d be worried that the noise from the fan might spoil the experience with this product, or worse still, make you regret buying it...

These guys just want publicity. This feature is practically only needed by 0.001% of users.
Mobstarz@reddit
Ik denk dat het percentage wel hoger ligt, wie zou nou niet meerdere dagen willen doen met telefoon zonder op te hoeven laden?
Tenelia@reddit
It’s always funny to see how we laugh at this in China, but westerners think this is fantastic
guigr@reddit
Pretty sure all the people not laughing at a active cooled active phone are in this thread. Noone sane can take that seriously
arahman81@reddit
Fantastic specs...sucktastic support. I'll stick to the Steam Deck for portable high-def gaming. And a Samsung phone with guaranteed updates.
VenditatioDelendaEst@reddit
Pretty sure most of the west thinks gaming phones are silly too. We want either Apple's alien technology, or the minimum viable F-droid-and-5+years-security-updates option.
El-Shams@reddit
why so?
Sorry_Soup_6558@reddit
Never will be able to buy it in the USA
harbour37@reddit
Is honor banned in america? Hauwei sold them awhile back and always was a separate company despite the designs being very similar.
Sorry_Soup_6558@reddit
They don't sell phones in America so it doesn't matter
They don't support American bands they do not have warranty support in America etc basically not worth buying a possible $600 paper weight
dystopianartlover@reddit
Um... ive used them in the US. They support many american bands just not all. The phones work fine in the US with 4G, they even support a few American 5g bands.
Sorry_Soup_6558@reddit
Yeah but they don't support all 5G bands so I don't even want to bother to use something that doesn't support 5G at this point, if it was 2020 maybe it would be okay but it's not 2020 and it's a $600 phone.
I'm not going back to 4G, as good as LTE-A is, low band 5G is super important for Nationwide coverage at this point.
KitsuAccalia@reddit
The honor magic 8 pro I think literally only supports 1 5G band and only a couple of 4G ones :(
dystopianartlover@reddit
I guess i can get that, the places i live still have minimal 5g coverage so its not even a benefit for me lol. But you can just check the bands a specific device has on kimovil to see if it supports your carrier. Its not actually consistent for many chinese brands, some models have no 5g support in the us, and others have complete support.
theregoesmyfutur@reddit
any notewrothy companies products offer full support?
dystopianartlover@reddit
Motorola, including their china only, not every model, but they normally have good or great band support in the us. Theyre basically the same as samsung but with less bloat and ~20p cheaper
theregoesmyfutur@reddit
How does this compare to laptop batteries, anyone able to eli5
EndlessZone123@reddit
10k mah is around 37Wh. Laptops are usually around double that. But a phone soc and smaller screen means screen on time is similar.
NotFixingYourPCAgain@reddit
Thought the title was talking about windows runtime...
harbour37@reddit
Or windows RT

Leaving Apple in the dust!
Thetaarray@reddit
As an iphone person I hope this makes Apple push their cooling further. I really enjoyed seeing the boost the 17 got on thermals and performance, and another jump like that would be incredibly exciting.
-protonsandneutrons-@reddit (OP)
\^\^ That is pretty impressive, even after the nearly 40 WHr battery in a smartphone weighing 229g.
MysteriousBeef6395@reddit
i was about to say, i wouldnt wanna give up water resistance for active cooling
