Is the (RTX 5060TI 16GB ) Good enough card?

How is this card? I mainly play on the ps5 pro, but i was thinking I wanna build my own gaming pc and have seen this card at reasonable price point. Reviews on YouTube seem mixed about it calling it weak etc i guess my question is how future proof will it be especially for new releases years to come.
Additional_Air779@reddit
Yes, it's a cracking card. I have one. It replaced my old RTX 2080 ti and is quicker, cooler and quieter (and much smaller.
Nikla3310@reddit
Im thinking of doing the same but i have a 2060 super so it will be a bigger upgrade than yours. Did you change the psu? I dont think its necessary since it uses much less wattage but im curious if its necessary.
ju2au@reddit
I upgraded to a RTX 5060Ti 16GB from a RTX 2070 Super.
It was a big upgrade, much improved performance and runs much cooler.
The old RTX 2070 Super uses two 8-pin power connectors while the RTX 5060Ti uses only one 8-pin. So, there's no need to change the PSU as the power draw is much less.
OneCopperPipe@reddit
What was the rest of your platform like? I also upgraded from a 2070 Super but see mostly minimal gain other then the percentage usage, I have 32gb DDR4 and an I9 10900F with a 650W PSU
ju2au@reddit
Ryzen 5700X3D with 64GB DDR4 RAM and 750W PSU.

Thanks.

Thank you
NervePerv@reddit
I upgraded from a 1650 super to the 5060 ti it was such a good upgrade
sticky-semicolon@reddit
Hey. What's your CPU and PSU? Because I also have a 1650 with my i7 10th gen.
mrthekicker2@reddit
I just replaced my 2060 ti with this card and loving the upgrade
-Kyphul@reddit
Coming from a 2070. Good upgrade. Can run most games on ultra 1440p 60fps. But i also dive into 4k ray tracing at 30fps. Decent performance
UserNameTaken-01@reddit
Is that before DLSS tweaks, or with all the DLSS bells and whistles?
-Kyphul@reddit
I’ve experimented more with the graphics card and right now I pretty much run all games I want at 4K/60fps using DLSS 4.5 performance preset, even with ray tracing.
Path Tracing however is still really demanding. Hovering between 27-30fps at 4K using the DLSS 4.5 Performance Preset
But DLSS 4.5 Performance mode is legit a beast. No reason not to use it
UserNameTaken-01@reddit
Much appreciated. Sounds like a good card for the money.
Visual-Acanthaceae97@reddit
It will last you for a lot of years if you plan on playing in 1080p.
l0nglivethefighters@reddit
Im on the same board as op, can i ask which cpu to get? Just for further clarification, I'm planning on ray tracing on 1080p if that helps.
Visual-Acanthaceae97@reddit
With current ram prices, i'd stick to a DDR4 platform so AM4 or LGA1700. 5700x3d would be amazing if you can find it at a decent price. 5800x or Intel i5 13600KF would also be nice.
Weak-Show9692@reddit
Is ryzen 5 5500 goood to pair with this 5060ti 16gb card bro? My place selling prebuilt pc with this combo for dirt cheap price.
Im tempting, i never had a pc and a console player.
DramaNo2222@reddit
Holy bottleneck
Morphick11@reddit
I did the same thing. I did it just before the prices went through the roof and couldn't be happier now. It's nothing overly fancy but it gets the job done and I can play most games without having to worry about performance.

Do you still have available links ? Looks like the way for me right now.
Crazy-Philosophy-530@reddit
i have i7 14700kf With the 5060 ti 32 gb DDR5 cyberpunk runs at 120-140 fps with DLSS shii is peak on 1440 high settings i get around 80-100 fps
Tricky-Appointment-5@reddit
I have a 5600gt, would that be fine for this card?
Visual-Acanthaceae97@reddit
Yeah, it will be fine.
Djtrickyyy@reddit
I play ultra on everything in 1440p max frames
sticky-semicolon@reddit
Hi. I have an i7-10700 and 650W PSU ? Is it capable to handle 5060 ti 16GB ?
Visual-Acanthaceae97@reddit
You could run into a small cpu bottleneck but nothing terrible, and yes, a 650W PSU is perfectly fine for this combination.
Mydomainuserone@reddit
Old thread but I own this card, also a 5070, I would get the 5070 unless you need the extra vram, it's about 30-40% better all the way around. That being said, 12g of vram is cutting things close if you wanna play cyberpunk, alan wake 2 or other heavy path tracing games. In 1440p the 5070 runs out of vram in those games. While 16gigs is enough.
Comfortable-Aide6814@reddit
Late response: The 5060TI 16gb is very good. I have it and I play comfortably at 1440p at high to ultra settings. It is a very good card.
Sea_Literature_7190@reddit
Yeah, it is. But if your budget allows it, you can pay an extra 60€ and buy the 5070 12GB VRAM, which has more fps and is more powerful.
kmkm2op@reddit
It's actually stronger than the ps5 pro performance wise, even more so in raytracing when digital foundry compared it (so not just going off raw performance but real game comparisons). If you account for the nvidia feature set like dlss, you'll be pleasantly surprised by how great your gaming experience can be.
Pc gaming also has many great benefits such as modding, it's a fantastic 1080p card and a competent 1440p card. It'll definitely last a good while but if you want a premium experience which includes high refresh rate 1440p gaming, you will need a higher tier card.
Acceptable-Ad-3451@reddit
I own this card and 1440p ultra at 100 fps is possible in most games without frame generation. The old 60 series is 1080 line is a bit redundant with all the bells and whistles nvidia are adding.
xs4all4me@reddit
Just my 2 cents.
I recently upgraded my 2 boys PC to Ryzen7500F PC, with 32gb RAM, they only game in 1080p on 200hz monitor. Pretty solid card, there old PC was an old Dell Optiplex with GTX 1650 cards, huge upgrade.
drkiklop@reddit
excellent card i have it and i play all games on max settings on 1440p resolution
ChoriStorm@reddit
I play with that card at 1440p and high settings at 90-120fps depending on the game. So yeah, great card.
Mountain-Interest795@reddit
You think I can play apex legend with the same settings ?
ChoriStorm@reddit
Hell yeah.
Mountain-Interest795@reddit
That’s good to hear!!
Nnyan@reddit
I am building new PCs for my girls and they picked a tiny SFF case. Heat/cooling/air flow are challenging so while I was looking at getting 5070s when I tired a friends in the case I decided it was a no go. I went with the 5060 Ti 16gb.
PossibleAlienFrom@reddit
Just wanted to ask, did you get the card? How is it? I'm on the fence between the 5060ti and 5070.
m3551xh@reddit
I have one in my secondary rig dude, the Gigabtye Eagle 5060 ti 16gb factory overclocked. This is a surprisingly a really good card and I say it's more than enough for 95% of gamers out there. You may be able to find a good deal on one like I did. Half Life 2 RTX was completely unplayable on the rtx 3060 12gb oc that was in this computer previously. I was getting over 110 fps at 1440p and without dlss on the new 5050 ti 16 gig. So basically a night and day difference from a 3060. Just don't get the 8gb variant of the 5060 ti.
ThatBlackGuy_2525@reddit
i played the last of us part 2 on mine at 1440p High/Ultra graphics. With framgen i was pushing 70fps, without frame gen you're dreaming of playing on ultra but my experience was phenomenal
alikapple@reddit
You can find a MSI Shadow 5070 3x for $489 and it’s a pretty huge jump for a pretty small price jump
MundaneConcert7890@reddit
Just depends on game and resolution you’re trying for.. 1080p only . Yep np good to go.. 4K nope.
As someone that came from console to pc.. it’s a huge difference.. but I came from ps2.. so this was years ago.. I started pc gaming in the early 2000’s
Own-Indication5620@reddit
IMO it's not that great, given that at 1440p without VRAM limitations it will perform only slightly better than a regular 5060 which is much cheaper. I've seen the 5060 selling at times for $250-$300, meanwhile the 5060 TI I've seen selling for $430-$460 in some cases. At the same time, I've seen the 5070 selling for $489-$520 or so which is way more powerful than both a 5060 and 5060 TI.
So all in all, it's not a terrible card, but generally a bad value.
MichiganRedWing@reddit
Happily playing my games on my 3440x1440 ultrawide. Gained roughly 10% more performance by running 3050MHz core/31Gbps Memory.
Sea_Perspective6891@reddit
From what I've read it's 29% better than a 4070 12GB & I use a 4070 for 1440p gaming without much issue. What people probably complain about is how it's generally bad value for what it is but in this tech economy it's probably hard to complain about value especially if you can get a 5060 for a good price.
TortieMVH@reddit
The 4070 is faster than a 5060ti.
gpowerf@reddit
Absolutely good enough. It is worth keeping in mind that YouTube and Reddit are not the real world. Many reviewers have tested every card available and tend to obsess over specifications rather than everyday experience.
If you are coming from a PS5 Pro, an RTX 5060 Ti will feel very capable. It outperforms both the PS5 Pro and the Xbox Series X, simply because it is a strong GPU in its own right. A 5060TI will last you quite a while.

Thanks everyone I appreciate it

Using dlss and frame gen x4 on most games (I mostly play single player games.) I get on average around 100fps in games with settings maxed out.
Considering my old GPU was a 1660s I bought during covid lockdowns, I'm thrilled.
beirch@reddit
It's ~50% faster than the APU in the PS5, so if you're playing on a 4K TV now, you can expect ~50 fps in the games you get 30 fps in on your PS5. Or 90 fps in the games you get 60 fps in.
The upside of PC gaming is that you can customize settings how you want, and use less or more upscaling. So you can theoretically squeeze even more performance out of the GPU if you sacrifice some visuals.
If you're on a 4K TV and you're happy with playing at medium settings and varying degrees of upscaling, the 5060 Ti 16GB will likely last you 4-5 years.
If you're on a 1080p or 1440p PC monitor, it can last you longer. At 1080p the CPU quickly becomes the bottleneck, depending on the types of games you play.
MerryMarauder@reddit
I have it and with Frame Gen and Dlss it so far performs well, I usually use frame gen 2x seems to have no latency problems. Supersampling allowed me to get the right config to run helldivers with good settings on a rock solid 60 fps at 1440.
Leather_Librarian986@reddit
It’s weak compared to really high end expensive cards but it is stronger than the ps5 pro and is a good card for most people!
_therealERNESTO_@reddit
It's a bit faster than the graphics card in the PS5 pro, with better ray-tracing and upscaling. It will last you with issues through this console generation.
