I consciously decided to watch Yesterday's Enterprise as first. Thereafter, I saw The Best of Both worlds, then family, the I continued watching the then current airing from season 4 on.
Crewman Q would have been hilarious. The senior staff will be in the observation lounge and he comes in to vacuum the carpet and offer his unsolicited advice. Also he leaves Worf a book from his trolley.
The very first scene of TNG I saw was also a Q episode,

I came in when Q was talking abou amino acids forming proteins. I must have been like 6 or 7, but I remember being fascinated by it and I went to school the next day and got a biology book and read about the origins of life
The book actually says it was most likely underwater near thermal vents. Still fascinating

First tng episode I saw was something with lore in it. Also one of my first intros to the "evil twin" trope

Q was also supposed to be a one off character who was way more serious then they saw how skilled John Delancey is at improv
