That sounds about right lol it's holding up with my hopes and dreams while I argue with NAPA dudes about "no this car isn't in your system, just sell me that Z32 hose please"
The heritage program had so much promise but in typical Nissan form was executed horribly. Last time I looked through the parts catalog it was seriously nothing useful. Virtually no drivetrain parts.
That and the fact that it's mostly getting hoarded by "scalpers", especially blocks and such, makes it very difficult to access some of these parts, and I don't even need GT-R parts
The Nissan juke had a nismo and it had a nismo RS version too with a manual. If an enthusiast drove it I'm confident it would exceed their expectations.
They are fun cars to whip around.
Loved my 6MT Nismo RS - it was way, way more fun than it had any right to be. For the first year or so of owning it, seeing the reaction of having a friend pop open the door and see Recaro Sportster CSs inside was also quite funny. I agree, more enthusiasts need to get in one and give it a spin - they are honestly the closest thing the US ever got to the RenaultSport hot hatches which they shared a driveline with.
The Juke Nismo RS didn't seem half bad at the time. Hardly anything else in the segment had even close to decent power compared to the standard Juke. A standard 187hp was a ton for that segment, where stuff like the Honda HR-V had 130hp. The Nismo widened the gap to 197hp and the RS had 215hp.
The next closest thing was the Mini Countryman, and you had to spend thousands more on a 208hp John Cooper Works just to beat the standard Nismo.
I have a juke SL with all-wheel drive and I absolutely hated it when I inherited it but 14 years later it's never had any major maintenance still running and I've beat the shit out of it there are times when I'm driving it and I'm having way more fun driving it than my ZL1
It's got a neater awd system than it needed. Not many vehicles that cheap had torque vectoring. Among Nissan/Infiniti, it's probably the next best thing to the GT-R's setup.
The 2L with that awd setup would be killer.
It had that "problem" where you could only get AWD with an automatic; anything with a stick was FWD only.
Also it was like 15-20 HP over the regular Juke I think?

[RML](https://strikeengine.com/rml-motorsport/) did the engineering work and [Severn Valley Motorsport](https://engineswapdepot.com/?p=28179) built them. It was just called the Juke R, no Nismo.
Yeah there’s one down the street from me. The dude is leasing it. I don’t think he likes it enough to keep it based on our discussion. It’s probably fun to drive but the Nissan badge and design just doesn’t do it for me. I used to love Zs back in the day.
I absolutely adored the Z32 models. That was a perfect car to me, and I got to drive a few of them and just worshipped that car. When the 350Z came out I test drove one and was so disappointed that I bought an RX-8.
My experience doesn’t support the “triangles bad” narrative. This wasn’t last week. It was 2004 and the car was new and under warranty. Other than replacing spark plugs at like 30K intervals there were no more maintenance or reliability issues than your Subaru will have. Gas and oil were cheap then, so that’s kind of a non-issue. And it was incredibly livable. It could actually seat 4 adults and had twice the trunk space of a Z. Miata Crew Cab is an accurate description.
I love it! I have the base sport trim with manual and I use it as my daily and it’s fantastic at it, I’m always looking forward to driving it. You can definitely tell the bones are from the 370z but I don’t think it matters, it puts a smile on my face every-time.
I went and checked out Armadas and saw the Armada Nismo in person. It’s almost a slap in the face that they’ve give a 6,000lb truck the nismo treatment.
Sentra Nismos are sick. They came with a manual option, revised dampers, pilot sport all season tires, nice accents. For a Sentra it’s pretty cool. IMO they should stick to sporty and dynamic vehicles to be nismos. I know they do the Armada thing to print money, whatever.
A maxima ser or nismo and bringing back the 6spd would be amazing. The newer vqs are plenty fast enough as is with a bit of exhaust/intake tuning mated to a proper well ratio'd 6 spd again would make it a really hot car. In the late 90s/early 2ks the sentra spec v and maximas were some of the hottest cars nissan made, it's sad seeing what they've become.
I would love if they released the following:
New GT-R with a Turbo V8
New Skyline. with a Turb straight six
New Z Turbo. Turbo V6
New 240 SX. Dont know, but maybe EV?
Must admit, very slim chances of all of those ever coming back.
Just looked at their page and wow, the top tier is over 400hp.
I wonder how much higher it can go tuned.
Weird that you only hear about the S.I.N.O. (Supra In Name Only) and not more about this Z.
Roughly 600hp on e85 if you change / tune everything other than the turbos. Realistically 500 on 93 and Boltons / tune.
It’s more of a grand tourer stock and it is a revised older platform. But it has a manual and a mechanical handbrake, and one of the last true Japanese sports cars that are still being made. It’s very much a driver / experience car to a sense, the auto is faster.

If they wanted to troll everyone, they'd make it a 200hp RWD hybrid coupe for $30k. Honda would be annoyed because it undercut the Prelude. Toyota wouldn't like someone beating them to the hybrid sports car segment. Drifters would like the instant torque. It'd probably be divisive but it'd be a flex.

As someone who has owned a GT-R, the V6 is *plenty*. Mine was a 2012 and it was a fucking rocket ship. Definitely would love to see a new version though, not just a facelift. Maybe something less comically expensive.

Unironically, I would want a Sentra NISMO to return.
The original B17 generation Sentra NISMO was alright as a competitor to the Civic Sport and Elantra Sport, but it couldn't hold a candle to spicier compacts like the Civic SI, Golf GTI, and Fiesta ST, which is why I looked for a FiST after test driving a Sentra NISMO years ago.
If the engine and the transmission have the right stuff, I could see this being a good way of re-entering the spicy compact market, but I imagine they're actually gonna go the route of selling some variant of the higher-end Skyline as the basis for a new NISMO car, which I wouldn't mind, either.
Sentra NISMO? Nah, bring back a proper Sentra SE-R Spec-V! In a modern context it'd be a competitor slotting between a CTR and Civic Si. There are currently no cheap sports sedans (RIP WRX prices) so if they made one, it'd probably do extremely well.
Given how most of the JDM NISMO models are nothing more than red stripes and firmer shocks, including NISMO versions of last gen Serena minivans and Leaf, I wouldn’t hold my breath. Unless you are really looking forward to a Versa NISMO and a Leaf NISMO.
