Body in median at Parker/Central

Did anyone see the body splayed out in the median around 5 PM? Looks like this gentleman was un-alived, as the kids say. His arm was halfway out into the lane, and cars swerved to avoid running over him. I was stuck at the light a few cars away, and from my POV, I couldn't see him breathing. I called 911, and the dispatcher said they had received many calls and emergency services were on the way. I tried to remain calm for my kid's sake in the backseat, but I was/am really shaken up.

Most likely was just sleeping. Homeless will do that a lot at bridges or intersections where they set up shop. I see it all the time

He wasn’t sleeping in the heat of the day either no coverage. There was lots of honking and he wasn’t moving.

When I was younger, we were headed down Parker and saw a man laying on the ground wedged between a fence and a tree right by the road, looked completely limp. Concerned it may have been a dead body, we did a u turn and my dad got out to check on the guy. He was very drunk and somehow passed out right there. He raised his head and arm mumbled I'm alright or something then went back to sleep. You'd be surprised the places and positions a drunk person can sleep.

The Parker overpass above 75 has long been an epicenter for roadside panhandling, though not as bad as it was years ago. It is close to the Parker DART station where large numbers of homeless congregate. If the guy was on the median, it is possible that he was asleep, passed out, or intoxicated. I would not assume anything worse. If he had been hit by a car, then vehicles would have stopped and people jumped out to assist at the moment it happened. I see homeless guys in various states of consciousness along the DART corridor on a daily basis. It is not unusual to see guys laying on the ground, especially along Archerwood and behind nearby stores.

He was splayed out like a chalk outline. And that’s an extremely dangerous, busy intersection. No one in their right mind would put themselves at risk getting out there.

Im glad you called for an ambulance here is why: when I was a rideshare driver for a while, I had passed a homeless person sleeping in a small shopping center off Forest Ln in Dallas. I thought nothing of it, as it is not uncommon over there. About 30 minutes later I drove past the same spot and saw emergency personnel there with a tarp over the guy's body.

There was an older gentleman that was being treated by cops for what I assume was heat exhaustion a few weeks ago. Maybe it’s the same guy

this was a younger guy...maybe in his 30s? had a black t-shirt and grey shorts.

I had lunch earlier around 2 at chuys and there was a heavily drunken older gentleman walking on Parker and 75. He walked towards the exit on south bound Parker had several bottles with him. Then walked back towards east.
