Fraudulent Company! I loved my Story Bike! At 240Km, my battery defaulted. I thought a simple call to the company would quickly resolve the issue. The only contact point on their website is a an email address. I wrote twice before I rec'd the response, "Have sent to our IT team." Nothing since then despite repeated emails. I had to do some internet snooping to get a phone number and address. I've called and left msgs and have written them. It's going on two months of SILENCE!
It didn't take long to understand something was off. I went to BBB and saw a complaint filed in 2/26 that mirrored my experience exactly (F rating on BBB). This individuals bike was still under warranty and still no response from company despite months of efforting.
There are no replacement batteries offered for sale on their website!!
I was duped, I admit, by their claim of donating one bike for every one purchased and by the picture of Oprah riding one of their bikes.

Every frank Story Bikes review should end with due diligence. Here’s yours:
Brands that answer these crisply tend to support customers well after the sale.

Did you end up getting this bike? I’m looking at it myself and interested to hear from someone who owns it…

I did, but it’s currently on a ship in the ocean. So I don’t have any information about it yet.
Delivery has been delayed by a month after a long delivery time to start with.

Did the bike ever arrive?
NoAppeal@reddit (OP)
Yes! Finally around 3 weeks ago. So far so good, mostly ride it as a regular bike and haven’t used the battery to much. However coming back home after a big meal and big hills the motor has been a life saver.
The pedal assist tops out around 20mph. So far we love it.

Are you finding you get decent range with it?
NoAppeal@reddit (OP)
That’s the thing, we have not really checked the range yet. It rides like a 10 speed so haven’t used the battery much. We used it for about 5 miles and it didn’t show any drop of battery. We are guessing about 20 miles?
TestSubject5kk@reddit
What range did you end up getting if you remember? I just got a (used) commuter which is also advertised as 40 miles, but the battery was pretty low after only 16 miles and I'm wondering how much of that is degradation or very generous testing for the product listing.
