People here who've been on Naked Attraction, how was it when you went back to work after your episode aired?

This is what has always got me the most about the show, which I love BTW, but how do your colleagues respond if they've seen you on telly in the buff? Is it awkward?

I will be careful what I say here because I don’t want to out the person (or my own identity for that matter) but I knew a guy from my old workplace who went on the show to more or less, improve his confidence - I know. He didn’t say much about the process of getting on the show but the chat he gave on the show was completely ridiculous, quite unlike who I knew him to be and the person he paired with in the end made 0 sense. Obviously, after “the date” at the end of the episode, they chatted over text for a bit before she cut off all contact so it was a complete waste of time for him. Naturally, him being on the show got around our whole team at work who tuned in to watch. At first he played up to the attention but those of us who were close to him could tell it made him feel very awkward. Within weeks he had left our team to relocate to another one within the same company. This is when I lost touch but from those of our colleagues who were still in contact with him, it didn’t take long for news of the episode to find its way around that team too. I left the company we both worked at and noted on instagram a few months later that he had deleted all his posts and his display picture. He would occasionally post a cryptic gym picture of himself every now and then over the next few years with some random caption before deleting it sometime later. A couple of years back I discovered through a string of Instagram posts that stayed up, that he had left the UK entirely, moved to continental Europe, was married and had a kid. In the end, I am glad my colleague got what looks like a happy ending but I can’t help but wonder whether appearing on Naked Attraction prompted him to leave the UK.

I worked with a guy who went on the TV show Man Oh Man! If you’re not familiar it was basically a show where a group of blokes lined up in front of a pool and a woman had to publicly reject them by pushing them in. He was on the very first show and also the very first one rejected (based at this point in the show purely on looks), he stopped working at the pub soon after.

I find it weird that people consider the show body positive (and that is the way the show tries to present itself too) when they are literally rejecting people based purely on physical attributes for most of the rounds. They try to make up other excuses for rejecting people but you can usually tell who they're going to go for most of the time and they're usually conventionally attractive. It's an inherently superficial show at its core!

I have two experiences to share. Occasionally, I send messages to participants from the reality show. I am an artist, and sometimes I like to use the human body as inspiration to create original characters. I always ask for permission beforehand, so I start the conversation that way. In some cases, these messages turn into deeper conversations. Some people have told me that they keep their participation in the reality show private and avoid telling acquaintances to prevent embarrassment, but that their lives continued normally after the show. The second experience is personal. I myself once tried to apply for the program, and I admit I went quite far, even though I am Brazilian. However, at a certain point, they started asking for several documents that I couldn’t provide, which made me lose motivation and give up. Even so, the entire process was professional and respectful, and I felt very comfortable throughout. I don’t know if it was because I fit a certain type they were looking for or due to a lack of participants, but everything seemed very easy and straightforward. Honestly, the process was extremely fast.

Not me but I know someone who went on it She applied when she was going through a ‘social media/ reality tv/ influencer’ phase but the show didn’t air until around 12-18 months later. She was the main person in her segment (so the one choosing out of multiple men). By the time the episode was airing she had grown up, got herself a new job and moved on from that part of her life. Her new job was working in a primary school. When she got the email to say her episode was due to air she contacted channel 4 and pleaded with them not to air the episode as she had this new career etc but they basically said you signed a contract so that’s that. The episode aired, she got let go from her job at the school and had to change career path. Not much else came from it and overall I think she regretted doing it

Oh this reminds me of when they did one of the roving bus episodes and visited the a local shopping centre for people to pop in with their problems. Sooooooooo I didnt end up going on the show BUT i applied, got accepted, had two interviews and backed out at the last moment. To give you a timeline - I applied as a joke at 9pm on a wednesday in 2022, after my friend tagged me on facebook saying "you wouldnt apply" so i did. One question was "what could you bring to the show"..... my reply "im like DHL il bring you a great package" 9am the next morning they were on the phone to me, asking for a quick interview.... 1.5 hours later they asked me to be on the show as the front runner (so the person getting interviewed rather than a tube guy) Questions were asking about myself and my body, what i find attractive in a girl (personality and looks) and if i have any preferences/would i date a disabled/trans person. A second interview was arranged via zoom with a guy and girl, this though i was interviewed naked. I had to stand there while being asked some very intrusive questions about my past relationships. At one point i mentioned that one ex was ginger and my friend used to call her the one who got away. Towards the end of the interview, they had "determined" that I now must be seeking a ginger girl because of that ex. This i didnt like. Lastly i had a psychological evaluation and he brought up some important things relating to what OP has asked. I was asked how i would feel being naked on TV, i was told that i could face bullying because people could legally saved my naked image and share it around as it was from a tv program. Although i was cleared by the doctor, i wasnt comfortable doing it anymore. I sat down with someone in work (i still work at the same company) and i told them what the doctor had said. Now i have no problem being nude in front of people (i used to do nude work while at uni) and am comfortable with my body. But it was how the tv producers twisted my past to create the illusion i wasnt over my ex and needed to find another ginger girl. So in the end i backed out saying for covid reasons i couldnt make the filming. I had never actually watched the show until after i rejected the offer, but after watching 2 episodes i agree that they only seem to want to bring on REALLY weird people sometimes (which i like to think im not) I would have liked to see what it was all about but at the same time, glad i didnt go on.

New 20-something guy in the marketing/social media department for a big B2B event - good looking young lad, clearly works out, posts gym shots on his socials etc. Decent enough worker, fits in well with the team & clients. I was working for an airline in the CEOs office when one of the air stewards for this airline had apparently informed HR that he had applied for the show, and that the production team had pics/ video of him naked wearing the uniform (or at least, the tie / hat and nothing else). Cue the meltdown in head office, with the legal team running around trying to work out what they could do, global PR trying to write scripts for every executive on what they should say when this was going to air, etc. CEO himself didn’t give a shit but it was a hell of sight to watch the blood drain from everyone else’s faces

Worked with someone who went on as the participant selecting his date so he had a LOT of screen time. He very wisely timed a 6 month sabbatical for straight after. The abuse he got on Twitter while it was on was outrageous. Still, he got that same abuse as soon as he came back to work. Really unlikeable guy and I took great pride in not letting him forget how much all his potential suitors clearly hated him. I’m another “got accepted but changed my mind” story. Friend said I wouldn’t dare do it after she saw an ad so I did. For a call a few days later from a very lovely producer talking about how I was just what they were looking for and all that. Had a couple interviews, eventually got cleared to go down for filming, but you have to be available for a whole week if I remember right and I couldn’t get time off work at the time. Not been on it myself but I used to work in a huge hospital, over 10,000 staff, a staff member was on it and everyone knew. Naked attraction isn't the same as only fans. People watch it and openly discuss it, not only fans. Only fans is for wanking off and for some people some as a way to have some form of "romantic connection" (very very heavy lifting being done on those quotations there). Naked attraction is also a dating show, there's no sex, nobody is wanking themselves off. It's done about as tastefully as can be done for terrestrial TV. very very different. If someone in an office brought up so and so was on it, many would go and watch it.

If my co-worker was known to have gone on Naked Attraction, why would I go and watch it? Like, to see their genitals or chest size? For what end other than to just wank or something.
