Jobs with built in communities

What are ways to move to a new country and have built in communities for expats? As an american I know the military and foreign service have built in communities when moving overseas. These are more extreme examples with housing and shopping built in and can end up with people not interacting with any non-americans. I am more interested in a social community, likely with other expats, but maybe not. What are other examples of how you could move to a new country and fall in on some sort of community? large corporations, international schools, ngos, universities?

A friend of mine is an Art Teacher and has worked at International Schools in Indonesia, Japan and Costa Rica for a couple of decades teaching IB Art. There’s a community of international teachers that sort of move from branch to branch of the same International School and they get to know each other in each location.

Plenty of places in Middle East and parts of Africa where you are basically living in a compound/gated community with lots of other expats. Not really my cup of tea but I know others who love it. Married couples with young kids or older working expats seem to do well in these situations. Singles or childless couples, not so much.

I did TEFL in China and in Turkey and each position came with a flat and a flatmate. This person was my built in first friend. In China, all the teachers lived in the same apartment complex, two to a unit, there were six of us in total. We were on different floors but we would go back and forth visiting each other pretty often. It was fun, kind of like being in a dorm again.
