For those of you with ai max+ 395 mini pc that have experience or no bias hate with mac computers: Would you recommend a max 395+ to someone where it currently or are you thinking of switching to or back to mac?

I would ask: what's your preference Windows 11 and Linux vs MacOS? That's the primary question you should be asking. If you're fine with all OSes, then ask yourself, will the software I want to run, run on the Apple ARM chip either natively, via Rosetta (which will be going away in the near future), or via something like Crossover? What's your budget (Apple ain't cheap)? There is no perfect solution only what people are willing to compromise on. In my situation I went for the Mac Mini M4 Pro 64GB, a fully kitted out version, it cost an arm and a leg, but probably one of the nicest experiences I've ever had with a computer (besides the iPad and my Steam Deck). I didn't want to run W11 as my primary system anymore, nor would Linux be able to offer what I need for work as my primary system (without running a Windows VM). I also needed a Mac anyway to support clients on, the 64GB was primarily for running VMs, but also it being able to run the 70b DS model quantified was a nice bonus. So today my primary computer is a mach, while still having two mini PCs, one running W11, the other Linux. Those get turned on when I need to do something on either x86 Windows or Linux. Overall, the low power consumption of the Mac Mini is fantastic, and it's incredibly powerful for the small formfactor, en extremely efficient! If you want to go the Mac route I'm not sure whether it's wise to buy a M4 now or wait for a M5. Apple might also increase the prices, but the M5 is even more powerful... As a computer either will last you at least 2 years, I even suspect you could easily do 5+ years with either of them. The question is, can you do the LLMs you want for the next 2+ years... That's not something I would dare to speculate on, and I have no idea how realistic your expectations are.
