Who is the Gen X equivalent of Bob Dylan?

Who is our generation's equivalent of Bob Dylan? Someone who is both of our generation (1965-1980, none of this late Boomer or Xennial nonsense) and representative of our generation. Someone who has had a huge impact and influence both musically and lyrically. Someone our parents wouldn't understand. Kurt Cobain, patron saint of Gen X, is the obvious choice, but I'm thinking of artists who are still with us and still making music. Could easily have been Kanye, but he's been yikes since 2016. My left-field choice is Stephen Malkmus, but I could be persuaded to say Trent Reznor or possibly Jack White or Richard D. James (Aphex Twin, even though he lacks the "lyrically influential" part).
