Shit, I didn't. He had them on a monthly delivery. He was giving them out as it's "too much for me"

I even took some with him.

His entire personality started changing in June. My last text to him was October 3rd telling him I loved him but he needs to listen to the doctors. He was in two separate mental facilities. The second got a court order to medicate him.

He got out of a mental health facility on the 19th. Never told me few was out. Spent his last 10 days making sure his end of life was taken care of. Ensuring documents were easily located.

The last text I received was "Fuck off. Forever. "

We grew up together and I'm 41.

The last 3 months absolutely was not him. He was caring, loved music. We did fowling weekly. (It's a Detroit thing)

It's fucking FAST how much he went from talking about a trip to see Billy Strings. To telling me to seeing incoherent ramblings painted on the walls of his home.

So yeah, I'm generally pro drugs. I think it should be legal to smoke weed on my 34. But to act like there's absolutely zero risk is immature and dangerous.

I was a Daily smoker, heavy in fact. 2016 I quit to get my CDL. I’ve puffed a few times here and there but never anything regularly.(I hit a fucking vape pen a bunch of times and went to target 2 years ago and I just wanted to lay on the floor I was so bombed 😂, this dispensary legal shit is so wild compared to what I used to smoke buying bags off the street lmfao)

Even now that I am an Owner/Operator I still must remain in a drug testing consortium. Stupid fucking rules. I remember when i first quit im like “yeah it’ll be legal soon enough” It’s been almost 10 fucking years.

It isn't always a need for people, just a habit. When i smoked i had no idea what it was doing for my body. The moment I quit to truck drive my body freaked out, I gained weight like crazy, my skin went haywire with baaad acne, and I could hardly sleep or if I did I had crazy vivid dreams. 3 years later I still get crazy vivid dreams.

Weed isn't some cure all for sure but people that have addictive tendencies will make anything addictive. I didn't have an addiction but I did use it as a crutch, and it worked for me. I wish I could still smoke instead of drinking which 100% can be turned into an addiction and will kill me.

I don't even get how me explaining my personal, first hand experience, could be seen as me trying to convince an absolute stranger on the internet of anything. Weed is not the issue itself, but people are. Simple as that.

And my guy, I would 100% still be smoking right now if I didn't choose to stop to be a truck driver. Is me leaving clothes on the floor bad for my body or mind? That's how smoking weed was for me. I didn't need it to live, I just decided to be a trucker and immediately quit.

Hair test typically go far back as 90 days (3 months). Never heard of that 6 month one, unless it's a body tests. That one is 12.

I passed my hair test by quitting. Then waited three months or so , hair cut. Then waited another 3 or so months, and I got another hair cut and beard cut.

If you’re a girl, then I would wait the 6 months or so. Hair grows around half an inch a month and they usually cut off or just test the first 1.5 inches from the base of the scalp

Very few places hair test. You can Google search and find out which places do. Lots of truck drivers smoke weed. I don't, because i don't want to lose my CDL.

But if I ever become an owner operator, I'm definitely smoking again. Or if I find a really good job that I know I'm never leaving.

Trucking and drugs, and i would argue alcohol as well, don't mix.

Get clean, go take a follicle test after your sure you can pass to verify, most good cdl schools will drug test you as part of the entrance requirements.

Go get your cdl and stay clean till you retire. Trucking isn't like normal driving, a drunk driver in a truck can cause a small mass casualty event.

And you do want to go to a proper trucking school, there are already far to many bad truck drivers and there is more to know to be a good and safe driverthan just how to pass the cdl exam.

Here's one for free, being able to find and identify good jobs and companies to work for and applying yourself to move up the food chain is just as important to your trucking career as knowing how to operate one.

Hey for a starting company, try something like Tyson. Very simple job, you truck around frozen/refrigerated chicken. Benefits are good and pay will increase with your experience. For otr, I had 3 years experience and got paid .61 cents a mile. I've made very good money with this company and have been treated well. Of course this is my experience. However in orientation they had people fresh out of school that they hired. They do hair follicle testing and urine testing.

I work for a small local company and I get urine tested about once a year. I did have to also do a random breathalyzer last time. I’ve never had a hair follicle test.

You will at least be piss tested just to get your CDL. You will need a med cert and that part comes with the test.

Physicals do not do drug testing.

FYI, I smoked every day for many years before I got my CDL, not a lot in volume, but daily.

If fail any tests , in lots of cases you become uninsurable , which means you’d never be able to ever drive a commercial vehicle if can’t be insured.

Trucking has kept me clean and free for 10 years now, though I had a ironic twist in finding cheap housing at a weed farm for a while 😂.

It's not worth your license to play around with drugs, it's more than just you out there and you need a clear head at all times.

I stopped smoking/ingesting THC for about a year and half before I got my CDL just to be safe. I smoked fat everyday for 6-7 years working at a dispensary in Cali. Exercise, sweat it out for 3-4 months and you should be okay.* (Depends how much body fat you have and how heavily you smoke.) Also, hair follicle testing is a bit expensive for employers so urine test is most likely what you’ll get for pre employment. And yes you have to fucking quit like yesterday.

The FMCSA requires random drug and alcohol screenings.

Any sort of damage or injury (even if someone hits you), the insurance will want a drug test.

Most employers require screening.

Health card screenings as frequently as the doctor requires.

You get pulled over in your personal vehicle while dirty and get your cdl suspended.

Of course there's an irony here because alcohol is also a drug (perhaps the most dangerous/harmful), but no testing for that.

I was in the same position as you before I got my CDL. Before I started CDL training classes I was smoking about 2 g to 1/8 every single day. My advice to you is quit now and go to school. That will give you at least 2-4 months of time to get clean. I can't speak for everyone but the school that I went to did urinalysis for the DOT physical so you should be fine to at least get that done after about a month of abstinence. I got my first company dot test (with Swift) 4 months after quitting and I was completely fine. That being said I do take good care of what little hair I have left. I use good quality shampoos and all that so that may have affected the results. The other side of that coin is there are companies out there that will only random test you if you get into an accident or get some sort of traffic infraction. I'm not saying to smoke right after you get hired btw. It's just an observation.

To sum it all up I would quit as soon as you can drink a lot of water and cranberry juice just to be safe and look into shampoos that work well for getting THC out of hair if you are still worried about your drug test results.

Don’t fix around like some drivers here do. Don’t be that moron that gets popped for it. God forbid you ever get into an accident and they start to investigate and find out you weee an active stoner. You will be in prison and on the news and your career permanently damaged or gone.

New Drug testing rules go through the ClearingHouse where any failure gets reported. Hair follicle testing tends to go back 6 months with the truck companies that use it. FMCSA’s Hutcheson tells senators she wants to close ‘loopholes’ in trucker drug testing Companies that do use hair testing (nearly all of the training companies) have been pushing for it to be the standard.
