Lots of companies went bankrupt during the Biden administration so don’t act like this is something new. Every President has dealt with people losing their jobs or businesses going under.
Majority of those layoffs have to deal with A.I and other technologies that are eliminating the need for more employees. It’s the changing of times. Trucking companies will either expand, downsize, change freight routes or types of freight hauled to adjust to an always changing freight market. I’ve been in this industry for 25 years and trucking companies going bankrupt is nothing new.
It doesn’t really matter which sectors the lost jobs came from. This is bad for the economy overall. Lost jobs = Shrinking economy = Less goods to transport.
It doesn’t really matter what sector the job losses come from. I guess whatever fits your narrative right? Where were you when people lost their businesses and careers because Biden was forcing people to get vaccinated or lose their jobs? Where were you when businesses were on lockdown during the Biden administration and weren’t allowed to open? You act as if Biden didn’t have job loss during his administration.
You’re full of crap. The employment rate 20 years ago was 64.70%( highest in 2000. Today the employment rate is 63.6%. The facts don’t lie. It’s almost as good as it was 20 years ago.
All Trump has to do is just expand the federal government like Biden did, create more federal jobs and just wash it all away, right? Y’all are so Trump deranged it isn’t even funny.
I haven’t mentioned any politicans, just facts. You repeatedly deflect and rationalize. This country now has fewer job opportunities and costs have not gone down.
Inflation was 2.5 times higher when Biden was in office than when Trump served his first term. Those are the facts that you seem to not want to accept. Inflation was 21% when Biden was in office and in Trump’s first term it was 8.6%. What happened to that Inflation Reduction Act passed by the Democrats to lower the cost of inflation? How’d that work out for ya?
59K manufacturing jobs lost in the last nine months. Those were all jobs making things that trucks hauled. I remember distinctly the many people here telling me that trucking was going to boom once Sleepy Joe got out of office. What happened?
The economy doesn’t change overnight. Inflation was 2.5 times higher than Trump during his first presidency and because of that, it leads to taking years to correct.
I was told numbers noone had ever seen day one. Everything cheaper day one. I mean sure my pharmacy pays me hundreds of dollars each time I refill now that prescription costs are down 500, 600, 700 percent, but that's not enough in this amazing economy. At least the Ukraine war was ended the day he got the nomination and the Epstein files were released like he promised am i right?
Maxwell was being tried and appealing the decision so they couldn't release evidence related to her case.
Aside from that your right, if they had the ability to and didn't then fuck those guys. But guess who all ran on the promise to do it AND now has complete control of the government and still is fighting tooth and nail not to.
And that is somehow excusing the Republicans from doing so right now how? Instead of trying to find someone else to blame how about you honestly answer me why it is they are refusing to do so right now? However to your point if the Democrats controlled everything and could have released the files but failed to do so then fuck those guys in particular as well, however, their failure doesn't excuse the current failure especially when promises were explicitly made by multiple people in the highest level of government to release the files.
Well using logic, if the Democrats didn’t release or leak any damaging evidence against Trump then that means there wasn’t anything damaging enough to release in the first place. Don’t forget the fact that the Democrats leaked Trump’s tax returns so don’t think for a second they wouldn’t do the same with anything regarding Epstein.
And for a third time I ask you how does that in any way relate to them not doing it right now? If there's nothing damaging to Trump or other Republicans then they should be climbing over themselves to push this stuff out and prove that the Democrats are a bunch of idiots. If Trump is innocent then why is he trying so damn hard to keep his proof hidden? I've never seen an innocent man work so hard in his life to remain looking guilty.
Who fucking cares? It’s only deranged people like you that care about it. Once again, the Democrats didn’t release it so the Republicans don’t have to either. That’s the way politics works. When it does come out, you’ll see that you’re an idiot that believed the hype and got lied to once again. If the Democrats thought Trump broke the law with regards to Epstein, why didn’t they investigate Trump and indict him like they did all the other many times and go after him? Because they couldn’t bc nothing was there, otherwise they would’ve done it. You’re a fool.
Well clearly you do or you wouldn't be arguing with me.
Deranged people like me who are against child rape and want to see justice done, gotcha. If the trafficking and rape of children makes me deranged and not you, does that mean your for it?
Dems didn't do it so Republicans dont have to is such a lazy cop out that excuses everything. "OJ Simpson got away with murder so why am I in jail?!"
"That's the way politics works" and thats why our politicians are such crooks and embarrassments, because people like you with this mentality allow them to continue.
I'll be an idiot who believed the hype and was lied to, like everyone who voted for trump?
If the Republicans thought the files would exonerate trump why aren't they releasing them to prove his innocence? Because if there's nothing there they would have done it.
You're a fool.
This is fun seeing what excuse you'll use next instead of answering my question directly. Wait are you a bot or a goof from another country like Nigeria like all those Twitter accounts?
You're right he doesn't have to prove his innocence, but why wouldn't he want to? Why is he trying so hard to maintain this look of guilt? If everyone thought you were a child rapist and you had a piece of paper that proved you weren't are you telling me you would keep it hidden under the bed? And yes he's guilty in my eyes I think he's a horrible human being and a disgrace as a president I'm very happy to admit that.
Why are you throwing around so many accusations and insults at me? Is that all you have to lean on since your arguments are so weak?
The files were under seal and it would have been illegal to release them (remember a President caring about legality?) But thanks for showing that your totally serious takes on the economy are nothing but a smokescreen to cover for Trump's bullshit.
When have the Democrats not broken the law or leaked info? Remember the Roe vs Wade decision that was leaked by a Democrat. Remember when Trump’s tax returns were leaked by a Democrat. I could go on and on but it wouldn’t matter, you’ll just believe anything that fits your narrative and doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You’re just a waste of time.
Idk what that has to do with the Epstein files? Obama actually had sixty dems to get the ACA passed without bipartisan support. Biden just had fifty, ten republicans were never going to vote on legislation to release the files to slander their own party. The idea that Biden could have released the files is bad faith or propaganda for smooth brains lacking a basic understanding of how congress functions. It’s just another fabricated braindead talking point like how Obama and Biden will take the guns or any other that would never clear the senate while Trump does it with an illegal EO and has his ATF kicking in and arresting his voters who wouldn’t turn over their bump stocks lol
The only people that care about the Epstein files are people who hate Trump and are too stupid to realize that there’s nothing damaging in there that’s going to hurt Trump. The Democrats would’ve released it or leaked it anyways bc they’re just as mentally deranged as you are. That’s my point. Nothing to see. It just riles up the idiots. The Democrats leaked the Roe vs Wade Supreme Court decision which is illegal, do you honestly believe they wouldn’t do the same with the Epstein files? Get real.
You’ll be proven to be an idiot when it gets released and there’s nothing there. Just like the Russia collusion bullshit all you braindead morons fell for.
Asking questions is what sets us apart from animals, you’ve had ample opportunity but here you are with another assumption. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows what to expect at this point but that’s ok, the legislation will be there for the next administration to use ;)
Always looking for excuses to justify your opinion, right? If Biden was so great, why didn’t he win the election? Why didn’t Harris win the election when she was anointed the candidacy for President? Do you honestly think that idiot Harris would’ve ran the country better than Trump? Get real. Just like illegal immigration, we have to clean up the mess that Biden created and it takes time.
Hit dogs holler, thats a lot of yapping for someone that doesn't know what they're talking about. I'm sorry cold, hard facts are difficult for the dumber part of the political population
There's been almost a decade of facts. All the hand holding has resulted in yall voting for a convicted rapist after he fumbled the handling of a pandemic. You clowns are incapable of learning
Over time, yes. The giant pool of cheap drivers leaving the industry due to bankruptcies, regulations and enforcement will be good for professional drivers.
Fake news, America is Great Again! We are feared by our enemies and admired by our allies. Boys envy us and girls want to date us. A chicken is in every pot and the good ol days are here again! /s
Why’s it Trumps fault that the company was mismanaged. They’ve been nicknamed “Crash and Roll Stunt Team” for the last 20 years. Maybe you should seek some help for your Trump Derangement Syndrome?
Can’t argue with a incel like you. Stick to those dating subs and trying to find “ways to increase girth during sex”. Good luck with those problems buddy. I’m rooting for you.
I sure am getting 2007 vibes here. Crazy Regarded Super Truckers has been around for a long time, that tells me that the huge supply chains of Mondalez, Unilever, Walton's are forecasting lower demand.
We’ve had an oversupply of capacity in the market since 2021. The shady carriers operate with impunity, and the legacy carriers are running out of cash to keep running.
I f**king knew it! I left them not even 2 months ago because something felt so off. Got with a local company. Home everyday, off 2 days a week. Easy work, consistent good pay. Thank God I left when I did
I am reaching out to Capacity Solutions drivers today to inform you of a change in our business.
What’s happening?
As you likely know, today’s market has been particularly brutal on solo, one-way OTR van operations, where since 2023, low rates have been paired with rapidly rising transportation costs.
Because of this market, we have made the difficult decision to redeploy those assets from Capacity Solutions to other parts of the business and end fleet operations in Capacity Solutions. This will result in a reduction in force for employees who work on these operations, including both drivers and driver support team members.
What does this mean to me?
Your current position is being eliminated as part of this redeployment. However, no employees are being let go today. Today begins a 60-day period to manage next steps and help you explore other opportunities with CRST.
An HR representative will contact you later today to provide you with more information regarding this change and how it will impact you.
Other driving positions: Our goal over the next two months is to offer each impacted driver the opportunity for other positions across CRST. We continue to hire company drivers and engage independent contractors across the company, including Dedicated, Specialized and Flatbed. A career advisor will be in contact with you in the coming days to discuss these opportunities.
Regardless of your future decision, your employment and any applicable benefits will continue through early February.
Expectations for the next 60 days: We don’t expect any immediate changes to workload, but we will work together as freight adjusts. As always, our top priority is to safely deliver consistent, high-quality service and maintain customer trust throughout this transition.
What does this decision mean to Capacity Solutions?
Over the next 60 days, Capacity Solutions’ one-way, solo OTR fleet operations will be redeployed to other parts of CRST.
All team drivers and routes will be transitioned to Dedicated Solutions.
A portion of solo drivers and routes will be transitioned to Dedicated Solutions.
All remaining solo routes will be transitioned to other business units or eliminated.
Going forward, Capacity Solutions will focus on its growing brokerage operations.
While there will be a reduction in force in our driver support team, those positions are also being given 60 days notice so they have time to prepare for their next career decisions.
We’re here to help
First and foremost, your safety is most critical. I know this change is significant. Please take the right amount of time for you to be prepared as you head back on the road and do not hesitate to reach out to your leadership or Human Resources to address any questions or provide guidance as we move forward.
Here is the email they sent out to all the drivers.
Not really. It's a federal law called the WARN act. The law says if they don't give employees a 60 day notice of a layoff, then they have to give them 60 days severance pay. This is for companies of at least 100 employees.
This market really shines a light on which companies have been and still are being grossly mismanaged. It’s nowhere near as bad as it was during the 2023-2024 slump; I am able to consistently pull $10k weekly gross driving a reefer. Some companies are able to survive. Some are managing to THRIVE. Then some are forced to cut back operations or shut down altogether. If one is struggling to make it and the competitor continues expanding its fleet then I’m sorry to say the market isn’t the issue. The days of any clueless moron buying a truck and hiring a driver, then sitting back collecting easy paychecks are gone. Now it requires precision, intuition, and aptitude, and we are seeing which carrier heads have no business being in the trucking industry.
This is a very accurate comment outside of the fact that it ignores the impact of mega carriers and lack of antimonopoly regulation - and by extension, a lack of a free market - in the inudustry entirely
It doesn’t ignore that fact, it fails to recognize it because it is largely inaccurate, or an overstatement at best. Megas are not some behemoth conglomerate - it’s just as vicious up there as it is down here. Megas have not been immune to the trough (look at Yellow, or at the headline of this post). It’s just that some of them are ran by competent people, and others aren’t. My comment wholly addresses this very fact.
I drive locally in Atlanta mainly just box trucks and smaller loads, i get asked about what its like yada yada. Always warn against it. No one does enough research because they’re always shocked when i mention things like insurance and upkeep of the truck lol
10 Roads shut down just a few days ago. CRST was mostly known for being an OTR company, so this is huge news. The job market is about to look ugly because hardly anyone decent is hiring during this time.
10 roads shut down?? Man I thought they had all those usps contracts. Thats crazy. I’d say that other contractors could pick up those contracts but I think the post office would just cut the routes heavily. I work as a driver for usps now and it’s pretty great having a bit of protection from the union.
10 Roads kinda did that to themselves by relying solely on the USPS as primary contract, and when that went away they didn't have an immediate backup plan.
CRST has confirmed a partial shutdown of its over-the-road (OTR) trucking operations in response to the challenging market conditions, resulting in the reduction of nearly 200 trucks from its Capacity Solutions OTR fleet The company plans to redeploy approximately 100 drivers to other growing areas of the business, while the Capacity Solutions brokerage service, its customers, and assets remain unchanged This move marks a significant reversal of strategy, particularly as it unwinds recent investments such as the acquisition of Texas-based BCB Transport in late 2023, which added over 300 trucks and increased CRST’s fleet by about 10% The OTR services previously provided by BCB Transport, including dry van, refrigerated, and flatbed one-way capacity, are now being discontinued The decision follows earlier cost-cutting measures, including employee layoffs at its Cedar Rapids headquarters in August 2025, which were attributed to an ongoing industry slowdown in the freight market CRST, a major U.S. transportation provider based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, employs approximately 4,082 drivers and 4,362 trucks, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and also works with roughly 2,000 independent contractors
It’s nothing new. Some companies go bankrupt, some downsize and some expand. This is trucking. Every business has to strategize and adapt or they’ll go under. Every single President has had to deal with this including Obama, Biden and Trump.
Writing has been on the wall for a while now I think. They had mass layoffs this summer and I've heard they aren't hiring and current drivers are not getting miles. I think they even did a pay cut and froze raises drivers were due for. Anybody still there better cash out any vacation time and start looking for a new job sooner than later.

This must be the greatness I heard was coming a year ago.
HerburtThePervert@reddit

We’re here to help First and foremost, your safety is most critical. I know this change is significant. Please take the right amount of time for you to be prepared as you head back on the road and do not hesitate to reach out to your leadership or Human Resources to address any questions or provide guidance as we move forward.
Here is the email they sent out to all the drivers.

If you work for them, better start finding another company asap. Job market is going to be flooded.

These other companies are in the same boat.

Yeah, might be time to get hazmat and find something local on the Texas coast.

That 60 day window is exceptionally considerate in today's corporate landscape
bulldog522002@reddit
Not really. It's a federal law called the WARN act. The law says if they don't give employees a 60 day notice of a layoff, then they have to give them 60 days severance pay. This is for companies of at least 100 employees.
pkfloyd66@reddit
Correct it’s not considerate it’s the law
blincluc@reddit
AKA if we have to pay you for 60 days you might as well work
LegendOfEffect@reddit
Might explain why they have dumped like 8 loads on me all going like 120-200 miles apart
ChiTruckDGAF@reddit
Didn't they have a huge problem with rape along their OTR trainers?
LegendOfEffect@reddit
That might explain why there was a big No Means No sticker with the Human resources number on the dash of my truck

Now it requires precision, intuition, and aptitude, and we are seeing which carrier heads have no business being in the trucking industry.
knucklesuck@reddit
This is a very accurate comment outside of the fact that it ignores the impact of mega carriers and lack of antimonopoly regulation - and by extension, a lack of a free market - in the inudustry entirely
denyskaiser@reddit
It doesn’t ignore that fact, it fails to recognize it because it is largely inaccurate, or an overstatement at best. Megas are not some behemoth conglomerate - it’s just as vicious up there as it is down here. Megas have not been immune to the trough (look at Yellow, or at the headline of this post). It’s just that some of them are ran by competent people, and others aren’t. My comment wholly addresses this very fact.
SycoJack@reddit
Yellow was deliberately sabotaged. I wouldn't really compare it to companies that failed due to incompetency.
RoundCube1220@reddit
I drive locally in Atlanta mainly just box trucks and smaller loads, i get asked about what its like yada yada. Always warn against it. No one does enough research because they’re always shocked when i mention things like insurance and upkeep of the truck lol

Hm, it’s almost like the economy has been tanking since the spray tan took office?🤷♂️

10 Roads shut down just a few days ago. CRST was mostly known for being an OTR company, so this is huge news. The job market is about to look ugly because hardly anyone decent is hiring during this time.
Helios-21@reddit
10 roads shut down?? Man I thought they had all those usps contracts. Thats crazy. I’d say that other contractors could pick up those contracts but I think the post office would just cut the routes heavily. I work as a driver for usps now and it’s pretty great having a bit of protection from the union.
oasuke@reddit
Yeah 2 days ago. It's get you're union because most contractors get fucked royally.

Roughrdr@reddit
10 Roads kinda did that to themselves by relying solely on the USPS as primary contract, and when that went away they didn't have an immediate backup plan.
