Portable tire inflator update
Posted by icodyonline@reddit | Truckers | View on Reddit | 32 comments
For all you people upset about me asking about a battery powered portable tire inflator. I found one. From 100 to 110 psi takes about six minutes. Good for low tires. It might air up an empty tire, but I don’t know. But it’s good for those that need a few PSI.
It’s the called the EtenWolf S7.

Thank you! I was contemplating on buying one but 6 minutes is way too long. Thanks!

An air hose hooked to your truck will do that in in 20 seconds.
CleanSeaPancake@reddit
The fuck it will, I used one of those often and it takes closer to a couple of minutes
HowlingWolven@reddit
Two is four less than six.
CleanSeaPancake@reddit
It's also 100 more than 20 (in the same units)
And you don't have to babysit
HowlingWolven@reddit
I don’t have to babysit my air hose either, I’ve got a milton chuck.

Maybe, but I don’t wanna carry around a 20 foot air hose. Then you have to wrap it up, it’s all nasty and dirty.
Waisted-Desert@reddit
They're usually 50ft hoses so you can reach the trailer tires. But not once in 25 years did I think to myself, "I hate having this in my sidebox."

Bro, 6 minutes to go 10psi? I can go 10psi in 20 seconds with a gladhand air hose.
Imagine trying to inflate 8 tires 10psi each.
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
Imagine having to carry around a wet, nasty and greasy 20+ foot hose taking up space.
derpmcturd@reddit
Imagine sitting for 48minutes to get 8 tires up to par. Imagine.
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
Imagine staying warm for 48 minutes while you’re airing up the tires and not having to sit outside waiting for it to fill up, multiple checks to see if it’s at the right psi and then having to wrap up a cold, wet, nasty hose. Imagine.
jek39@reddit
these are good for track day or overlanding
HowlingWolven@reddit
Six minutes to push a truck tire 10 psi? You played yourself, bro.
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
Not really… just set it and forget it. Turn it on, get back in the truck where it’s warm and it’ll shut off when it reaches the set PSI. Don’t have to carry around a 20 foot hose, don’t have to worry about the hose being dirty or wet and nasty.
HowlingWolven@reddit
I have a jockey box for my hose and my air chuck is one of those that you can lock on. What’s your point?
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
I literally told you the point. Do I need to point it out for you again?
“Don’t have to carry around a 20 foot hose, don’t have to worry about the hose being dirty or wet and nasty.”
HowlingWolven@reddit
Not once have I ever been concerned with whether the 16 metre hose in my tool box is wet or nasty. I’m glad you like your little temu compressor, but I think you played yourself.
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
Someone’s upset they have to lung around a 20 foot hose.
HowlingWolven@reddit
Whatever ya say.
vfittipaldi@reddit
At first i thought i red that wrong. To inflate 8 drive tires would take 48 minutes.
hotdog11inch@reddit
Why not use the air compressor on your truck
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
Because I don’t wanna have to haul around a 15 or 20 foot hose. This, you set the psi at what you want and it will automatically turn off once it reaches it.
scottiethegoonie@reddit
Yea this is the real reason. I have the glad hand connector and 50ft of hose. It takes up a bunch of space and is dirty as hell from being dragged around.
Stacemranger@reddit
Strap it to the platform on the back of the tractor.
mindsunwound@reddit
I carried around one of those stupid gladhand inflater things for years, used it once.
Responsible_CDN_Duck@reddit
Their marketing seems very scammy.
A 5psi change seems an odd spec to focus on.
Shouldn't it handle 40 not 16?
Reviews claim it struggles to inflate to 40psi and is prone to nosel leaks, so it's interesting you claim to be hitting 110psi.
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
I’m only adding about 10 psi, and semi truck tires are about 40 inches in diameter. Almost twice what they recommend. The tires I filled were between 101 and 103 psi. I inflated them to 110 psi. Each tire took about six minutes. I was able to inflate 6 tires before I needed to charge the battery. It took 3x longer to inflate one semi tire by 10 psi than it does a normal truck tire at 5 psi due to the amount of volume a semi truck tire has.
nastyzoot@reddit
6 minutes a tire? That's a bit ridiculous.
icodyonline@reddit (OP)
Not really, set it and forget it. Get back in the truck where it’s warm until it finishes. Don’t have to fumble dirty hoses

Nice to see a real-world test on one of these battery inflators. We keep a portable compressor on our service trucks for quick top-ups; even a cordless unit can be a lifesaver when you’re out in the boonies and just need to bring a tire back up before limping into a shop. That said, nothing beats shop air for proper seating and inflation during routine PMs.

That’s a slick little pump! Beats using your lungs. Thanks for the update.
