OTR Questions for a Newb

Hello Drivers, I like many I’ve seen say over the years here decided to leave my office job to get out and get my hands a little dirty. I was in transportation logistics for a while so I got to talk to a lot of ya’ll over the years and that’s what put the driving bug in me.
Is there anyone here that is fitness oriented? I’ve recently been going to the gym pretty hard and know it’s easy to eat fast and not so healthy on the road but I’m wondering if anyone has a routine of actually getting to a gym. I’ve seen some talk about getting an e-scooter and I’m not sure how realistic it is to bobtail around. I got myself a set of resistance bands and a couple dumbbells but I’d like to be around others to stay motivated if possible.
For those who watch (stream) tv in their sleeper or play console games, do you use a standalone hotspot, mirror from your phone, use Starlink? Though Elon’s setup isn’t realistic for me at this time.
Last question - one of the things I really looked forward to as a driver is listening to podcasts / music throughout the day. Now I’m learning that touching your phone is fireable. I’m imagining my phone getting stuck or I want to skip a track. Am I getting bounced if so?
I appreciate all of y’all who’ve already shared about what you do and how you do it and for any insight you can share with me with this stuff that’s bouncing around in my brain.

I use tmobile home wifi on my truck. Signal is pretty good almost everywhere.
As far as my phone. My truck has android auto. I just download all my podcasts etc before I start driving.

Starlink is the best you'll get hands down. You might not be able to bobtail everywhere but unless your in the middle of nowhere you can probably Uber to a gym or get a folding bike, scooter, skateboard, one wheel. You can use your voice to change tracks and stuff now adays if you don't mind yelling at your phone

Hah, that’s what I imagine it will come down to. I get tired of hiding the fact that I’m crazy, may as well embrace it 🗣️I Appreciate the share.

I'm a pc/vr gamer. I could get in better shape with the VR headset if I had more room, but for now it keeps the atrophy away.
I have an at&t phone and a visible phone with unlimited data, when one has a poor signal, the other usually works. I use pdanet+ for the hotspot which works well with the computer, I have it side loaded on the VR headset. It will make it appear to the service provider as regular data so it won't count against the hotspot limit. The visible phone has unlimited hotspot, but it's throttled unless I use pdanet.
At first I tried mirroring my phone to the TV, and using several USB C to HDMI cables, it just never worked out for me back then, I stream on the computer.
I tried a couple of Bluetooth media controllers from Amazon, stuck them on my steering wheel over worked well, but broke. The other would disconnect, and when I pressed a button it would minimize the track on media player on the phone when it reconnected. It eventually broke too🔨 so your mileage may vary.
My truck's stereo has controllers on the steering wheel, but the stereo's Bluetooth codec sucks hard, I have to use a separate Bluetooth receiver going into the aux port in order for the music to sound right. Maybe I'm a snob.
Streaming will eat data fast, you might consider a tablet for vegging out, mine is like $20 more per month for unlimited data.

Thanks a lot for all the info! I usually use a Bluetooth connector as well, have for many years. Never heard of the steering wheel controller setup. Great info on the data, the tablet route makes a lot of sense for me right now.
