Does Lemon Lime & Bitters exist in the UK ?

Absolutely random question from an Aussie 👀lurking , I was reading a post about drinks that are uniquely Australian 🇦🇺 So asking a Brit, when you go to the pub can you order a Lemon Lime & Bitters, l ?? Yep tonight I’m asking the big hitting questions 🤣 🤣

It's just lemonade, lime cordial and bitters. I would expect most pubs to have that combination, though you may have to explain it.

See bitters is a standard item at a bar/pub in Australia, sounds like it’s not as widely used in the UK then

Oh it's everywhere in like, BAR bars or anywhere with a cocktail menu that isn't all pre-batched. But most pubs would rather have 30 flavoured gins. That being said, if I'm in a pub I'd probably get a real ale of some kind instead 90% of the time. But it is annoying when I feel like I've had enough since ango and soda has always been a favourite """non"""-alcoholic drink.

I'm in London, I would say 90% of bars will have angostura behind the bar. You'd be hard pressed to find it in a more traditional pub with their focus being more on beer, but definitely common in bars

I'd say a really traditional pub probably would, because bitters has got to have been popular in some drink at some point in the past. It's the trendy craft beer places that won't.

Wetherspoons didn't have it when I was managing for them, and they serve cocktails (of a sort), so your quaint village pub isn't going to have it either.

Respectfully, you can say that, but it isn't correct. How many traditional pubs do you know that are slinging classic cocktails? Craft beer places (with their focus being on beer) wouldn't typically stock it unless they have a cocktail menu.

This is the thing, you tend to have to explain it but most places will have all the required bits. Having lived in Oz for a year I can confirm it is an excellent drink.

I was about to post that you can pick up the Bundaberg version at larger supermarkets but having just quickly checked Sainsburys, Waitrose and Ocado that might no longer be the case. You definitely used to be able to! A pity if no longer sold - I agree it's good stuff. I think you'll struggle in pubs. Unless you're around Earls Court.

Yeah you can order it. A pub I worked in had a button on the till for it. Just make sure you put the bitters in last because Angostura foams loads.

I've never had all three together but I've had lemon/lime and lemon/bitters. I'm pretty sure you could order it easily.
