I Spent the Last 2 Years Creating the Most Authentic Xennial Radio Station & App I Could

About ten months back I made this post about the Xennials radio station I built as a passion project. Since then, the amount of global support and feedback from fellow GenX and Xennials has honestly blown me away.

A lot of people told me they loved the retro jingles, movie clips, and deep-cut 80s/90s tracks… but they really wanted an option with no ads. So I spent the last year building exactly that.

There’s now a completely ad-free version of the Keep Laughing Forever Radio app
(Alongside the regular free version.)

For anyone who missed the original post: the whole idea behind the station is to recreate that actual 80s/90s radio feel... real retro jingles, movie quotes between songs, and those forgotten tracks most retro stations and spotify etc never play anymore.

One minute you will be jamming to Roxette or Def Leppard, the next you hear the Mentos ad or Doc Brown yelling out "88 miles per hour!" Fun times.

Turns out starting and running a radio station is way more work (and red tape!) than I ever expected, but the community response has made it worth every bit of it.

If you want to check it out You can grab an app and start listening here.

Also, if you have questions about making your own station, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned!
