Ladies, what are we doing with our faces these days?

Besides scrunching them in irritation over everything haha, I mean what issues are you having because of peri and what products/care are you using?
My skin used to be problem free. Now I’m struggling with redness, darker blotches, and uneven texture like little divots and bumps and overall not smooth. I’ve been mostly using niacinimide, and Paula’s choice BHA, some HA, and briefly tried retinol, (not all at once though) and nothing seems to help.
A_moodycrab77@reddit
I use a Makeup eraser cloth to wash my face at the end of the night. Lately, I’ve been using Kiehl’s ultra face lotion and then the midnight recovery oil. I change up my lotions every so often. For daytime, I use the L’Oréal revitalift serum with a hyaluronic acid. Retinol makes my face break out, but it’s great if your face can tolerate it.
weeziefield1982@reddit
Wash with face wash at night then just water in the morning. Put a little lotion on it and go.
library_wench@reddit
I’m just the opposite: Definitely in peri but my skin hasn’t been so clear and smooth in a few decades! Even my rosacea is manageable these days.
Now my hair…that’s a different story altogether. 😒
juniper3411@reddit
Same. Skin is fine but my hair is soooooo thin!
GentleFacePalm@reddit
I had the same problem. Turns out I was severely Vitamin D deficient. Started taking Vitamin D daily and within a couple months the thinning and gobs of hair fallings out stopped. My hair is back to being thick and healthy.
I highly recommend getting a blood test to check your Vitamin D levels. I have to take 10,000iu per day, as instructed by my gyno, but that is a really high dose, so please check with your doctor before just starting to take it. It helped me a lot!
GentleFacePalm@reddit
Lol, why did I get down voted? This method worked for me. Blood tests confirmed both my deficiency and my recovery with taking Vitamin D. I clearly stated to talk to your own doctor.
So, seriously, can someone explain why they downvoted my comment?
Gloppydrop_@reddit
Not only did you make sense, you shared what legitimately worked for you, how dare you!
DirtRight9309@reddit
i did that with the same results and a year later it started falling out all over again ☹️ stress is anfucker
Stop_Already@reddit
Make sure you’re taking vitamin k, too. If you don’t, that much vitamin D can cause damage to your arteries & heart.
juniper3411@reddit
Will definitely look in to that! I get my blood checked fairly frequently because I have GI issues and some lingering possible autoimmune issues.
Church_of_Cheri@reddit
Vitamin D gives me heart palpitations. Doctors kept putting me on it and it made me worse. I’d ask them, why is my vitamin D low if it’s fortified into so many food products (cereal, milk, pasta, etc), plus your body is supposed to make enough with just a few minutes of sun a day? They couldn’t answer, turns out it was food allergies and inflammation. Getting that figured out got my numbers normal, but it didn’t help my hair, that was hormones, PCOS is a bitch.
FinallyKat@reddit
I had low vitamin D and my doc explained there are (kind of) two versions of your body processing D and I had to make certain I was eating certain foods together to allow me to break it down and use it properly. It was annoying, but I followed a better diet and it is normal now
MistressM7997@reddit
Me too.
library_wench@reddit
Same. 😞
Weird_Squirrel_8382@reddit
What's going on with your hair?
gyrlonfilm6@reddit
I have been having eczema dry skin around my kids and under eyes. I think its my makeup. Time for a change. I started using Jamaican black castor oil to moisturize.
hunterglyph@reddit
Off topic, but I read this post title with one letter different and it was hilarious.
Switchbladekitten@reddit
Feces? Because I did that too 😩
PuzzleheadedAbies678@reddit
Well we are all of that age where colonoscopies are necessary.
Otherwise its ...poop in a box and mail it off
So kinda relevant with one letter off
bitsy88@reddit
I had to do the home still sample thing once and when I filled the prescription to get the sample cup, I forgot it in the car and someone stole it. I'm sure they saw a prescription bag and thought they scored big and I still cackle thinking of how disappointed they were when they opened the bag and only got a stool sample cup 🤣🤣🤣 even the pharmacist laughed when I told them what happened and why I needed another.
Olivia_VRex@reddit
Completely different scenario but I ALSO stole someone's poop. Accidentally.
The same company that administers cologuard also performs genetic testing on tumors. I had a mastectomy and was waiting on these results ... when a package with this company's information shows up at my front door labeled "human specimen".
I thought the hospital accidentally mailed me my own boob, so I put the box in the fridge and spent all day frantically trying to reach the lab coordinators...only to find that the tracking # was for a cologuard sample.
Turns out this was an *outgoing* package of poo from my upstairs neighbor.
Switchbladekitten@reddit
It’s my poop in a box, girl!
Fawners@reddit
Still use noxema, and then age perfect creme. Morning and night.
SJSsarah@reddit
I do try to remember sunscreen, not immune to sun damage at any age, lots of facial lotions have SPF in them. Otherwise, let it be free.
BoysenberryFairie@reddit
Cerave cleanser, Philip Thomas Roth Vitamin C Face moisturizer and Philip Thomas Roth Pumpkin face mask a few times/week. I also did laser treatment a few years ago to treat acne scarring and I think it helped with my skin overall. Also, lots of water and a good Omega-3 + Turmeric supplement. I'm not a sun worshipper either and have always used sunscreen.
When it comes to skincare though, it's all so unique to the person. I've tried so many things but have found that less is better for me.
orangepaperlantern@reddit
I used to do a full face of makeup every day. Now I just fill in my brows and do mascara. Younger me would have been shocked that older me would go out bare-faced, but I’m used to it now and if other people have a problem with it, fuck you, this is what my face looks like.
TheVexingRose@reddit
I have been battling acne like a teenager for a year now, and it occurred to me somewhat recently that I haven't updated my skin care or make up routines since my wedding, 16 years ago. I tried looking up some new skin care routines for women above a certain age, and I am convinced the women making this content are housewives of rich husbands. The price tag alone on all of these products is absurd, and who honestly has the time? I have a house full of kids. I'm lucky to shower once a day. Now I have to have time to let things bake on my face? I don't know what half these words mean, but apparently I need serums and toners in addition to moisturizers, exfoliants, pimple patches, eye masks, eye cream. This feels absurd.
CuriousRiver2558@reddit
Don’t forget that whatever you use on your face you should use on the backs of your hands!
CuriousRiver2558@reddit
I get tretinoin from my dermatologist and mix it with some basic nice cream. I use a daily moisturizer with SPF but I forget most days. But honestly I often forget to do either.
Snugglebunny1983@reddit
Don't really do much with mine. Just wash it with soap and water, and pluck out my chin whiskers when they start getting out of control.
No-Calligrapher3043@reddit
Having a pair of tweezers I leave in my car for chin hairs was a level I wasn't ready to unlock yet, but here we are lol
AgentOrange1717@reddit
I make my own soap so I formulated a bar specifically for my face and wash with that and water every morning. When I get an occasional breakout close to my period I use a Clean & Clear spot treatment and that’s about it.
No-Calligrapher3043@reddit
Fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes forced me into changing up my makeup routine. I switched to a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation which helps tremendously. I want to try a chemical peel and/or microderm but it's so expensive and I have a hard time spending money on myself...
Mandze@reddit
I bought some of that Korean stuff made from snail slime and it feels great. I mostly just wanted to try it because it sounded weird, but now I am a snail slime evangelist.
Outside of that, I continue to use the same moisturizer I have used for 20 years.
Ggface36@reddit
I was doing great with oil of olay, healthy eating, water and exercise. Then chemo aged my face 15 years in 5 months. Now I use olay, olay regenerist, snail mucin and hyaluronic acid, retinol, collagen lotion but none of it has helped smooth any lines or wrinkles
Astrazigniferi@reddit
Soniclear facial brush in the shower, Clinique green facial cleanser, prescription tretinoin every few days, and Clinique yellow facial lotion or Herbesque cold cream, depending on how dry the air is. Sunscreen in the summer or if we go out of town (Seattle). The tretinoin has done an awesome job reducing both fine lines and breakouts and costs like $16 from the pharmacy, rather than the non-prescription $80 retinol cream my friends use.
I also drink water, don’t smoke, spend most of my time indoors, and have fairly oily Italian skin, so I’m starting from a good place.
CourtAlert8679@reddit
I used to have a whole ass routine that took forever and cost thousands because I wanted to “age gracefully.”
Then I had a consultation with a doctor who recommended a little bit of Botox and Clear + Brilliant laser treatments. My skin is now better than it was in my 30’s (maybe even my 20’s) and all I use is cleanser (Kiehls) moisturizer (the purple Drunk elephant one) and sunscreen (supergoop Glow Screen) Yes the Botox is expensive and so is the laser but the Botox is only twice a year and the laser lasted 3 years. For the amount I used to spend on spend on products and the makeup I used to wear to cover my melasma I’m about even and I save a shit ton of time.
If you’re on the fence, just do it.
DirtRight9309@reddit
how much is expensive? asking for a friend lol. like ballpark per year
CourtAlert8679@reddit
Well to be clear, I go to a plastic surgeon and I’m sure that it can be done cheaper at a med spa or even a dermatologist. I just feel like a surgeon has a more comprehensive understanding of the contours of the face and the facial muscles than a nurse injector or even a dermatologist. It was very important to me not to end up with one of those shiny frozen immobile Real Housewives of wherever faces, lol.
For Botox it’s about $800 give or take depending on how many units. Twice a year so let’s say $1600 a year. The laser is about $500 per treatment, but the last time I had it done was almost 3 years ago. I did a series of 3 (my melasma was pretty bad) I had a choice between a Fraxel laser or Clear +!Brilliant. The C+B is not as strong and requires more treatments but I liked the minimal downtime and recovery aspect so I went with that. A fraxel laser could probably have done it in one go, but you’re looking at a week of not leaving your house for fear of traumatizing small children, lol. The C+B you have redness and slight discomfort similar to a bad sunburn for maybe 12 hours, then you are kind of back to normal except that your face will be really dry for about a week. The skin will start to peel a bit but nothing terrible. Dark spots will get darker for a few days and then slightly scab up and when you wash your face it will look like there are coffee grinds in your sink. It’s actually very satisfying imo 😅
DirtRight9309@reddit
this is so helpful thank you!! 🙏🏻
cowboybluebird@reddit
Seconding the laser. Worked wonders for me. Fast, nearly painless.
CourtAlert8679@reddit
I was really skeptical that it would make much of a difference but I also appreciated my doctor’s conservative approach. I had gone through a really stressful time taking care of my terminally ill father, in addition to the stress I spent months eating nothing but takeout and food from a hospital vending machine, gained a bunch of weight, etc. Then he passed away and I got really sad and lost a bunch of weight. I looked so haggard that doctor could have tried to sell me a damn head transplant and I would have slapped down my credit card.
When she said all she thought I needed was a little Botox and a laser I was kind of like “I mean I guess we can try that first and then you can sell me a head transplant…”
But the laser was amazing. One day of feeling hot and uncomfortable, one week of dry peeling skin….then 3 years of clear, smooth bright skin. I’m going back in January to do another.
MistressM7997@reddit
Can you do the laser treatment if you spend a lot of time in the sun? I have a convertible that I drive with the top down every chance I get. It's my "me" time, and it saves me thousands in therapy bills. I'm not willing to give up my solo drives in the sun, but the melasma makes me want to cry when I look in the mirror.
searchingforglow1@reddit
I also like the sun but try to do lasers in the winter if possible. I notice that if I spend more time in the sun without a huge wide brim hat and being very conscious of the sun, then the lasers work less optimally and you might notice more spots appear or the ones you have darken quickly. I would try to stay out of the sun for that week right after you get a laser, and then if you need your "me" time after, then wear a thick layer of SPF, sunglasses, and wide brim hat. It's not a foolproof method, but the best solution I found for myself.
CourtAlert8679@reddit
I’m not a doctor, but my understanding is that you can still go in the sun, but it might make your results less than stellar. I would definitely recommend a hat and good sunscreen on your drives if you want your results to last.
Loquacious-Jellyfish@reddit
Botox, BBL, and Moxi laser has been great for me. Gotta invest in a good sunscreen to protect your skin too!
CourtAlert8679@reddit
My problem is melasma, which is definitely made worse by the sun but also heat can trigger it and I’m a hot yoga devotee. It’s the only exercise I enjoy and I refuse to give it up. If I have to go every 3 years to get my face refinished like an old coffee table, so be it.
Loquacious-Jellyfish@reddit
I bet that having an exercise you like keeps you looking great! Especially because hot yoga isn't outside in the elements. Keep it up!
The_Dutchess-D@reddit
It's so cold and dry... dry air is my skin's nemesis. So... I'm constantly refilling my humidifiers with distilled water. I'm only rarely washing my face and when I am, I'm using a gentle cleansing milk, and not overdoing it with washing because it dries it out. As soon as I finish washing while it is still wet, I spray the Beekman 1881 Milkshake toner with hypotonic acid on my face and then go directly ontop of the with Dr. Rosa Day Cream (it is thick) to create a protective barrier. It is great with skin that is prone to redness.
And I'm drinking SO MUCH water. Even when I'm not thirsty.
And then Tretinoin a couple of night a week before bed, for the cellular turnover etc.
Morriganx3@reddit
Humidifiers are wonderful! I didn’t realize til a few years ago how much difference they can make.
I also don’t wash my face with water as much in the winter; I mostly oil cleanse instead. I’m using a homemade shea butter - tallow balm followed by The Ordinary Argireline and then Vanicream for sensitive skin. I also usually use a tinted SPF.
killer_sheltie@reddit
Wash every few days and moisturize with a hypoallergenic lotion. That’s all folks.
KristinJ78@reddit
Moisturizer with vitamin C and retinol, and a light serum with collagen from Spoiled Child. Wash what makeup I do wear off with dove daily. (Literally, usually just tinted moisturizer with spf and a finishing powder. Some neutral eye shadow to add depth)
Imnotonthelist@reddit
La Roche-Posay is the best cleanser I’ve ever used, no exaggeration. This exfoliator is super-fine and doesn’t dry my skin- I only use it like once a week.

DirtRight9309@reddit
i use that trader joe’s rose water to stick my frownies on lol it’s great

These days I have more hair on my face than my legs. Seriously my mustache grows down the sides of my lips and I have two thick patches of hair on my chin and stragglers down my neck. I was using a razor but getting bumps so i switched to an electric razor. I can’t remember the last time I shaved my legs but I’m shaving my face twice a week. Otherwise just washing with face wash and hoping for the best.
searchingforglow1@reddit
I fear that Paula's Choice BHA might be too strong for you? It works great for some people, but seems to be very irritating for others. I would start off with a gentler acid product like YSE Beauty's exfoliating pads (these are gentle enough to use every other day like I do or even daily if you wanted to), keep up with a great retinol product like Maelove's moonlight serum (start using this like 2x a week and then you can increase usage), and continue using a niacinamide product to help with the redness.
Ineedavodka2019@reddit
I use niacinamide and retinol at night. Vitamin c serum and spf 30 lotion in the day. I also have under eye serum and am using grande eyelash and brow for my thinning lashes and brows. The vitamin c helps with dark spots. I also like how it smells.
CaliSinae@reddit
daily: red light mask, tret, vitamin C serum, Augustinus Bader rich cream, Noto SPF
a few times a year: VI peels, Vbeam laser
ZoeCat7819@reddit
How do you like your red light mask? I just ordered one the other day and am excited to try it out.
CaliSinae@reddit
I like it, I think it’s working but I have to use it everyday or somewhat consistently in order to see that it’s doing something
ZoeCat7819@reddit
That’s good to hear! Yeah, from what I’ve read, these devices need to be used consistently in order to see results. Which makes sense.
lightstarangelnyc@reddit
Lasers and facials - the first laser I did was for my rosacea; will need an annual top up but I try and go for facials every 2-3 months. Otherwise it’s serums (vitamin c in the AM, retinol in the PM) and sunscreen.
Throw-away17465@reddit
I was told by a dermatologist that i had great skin.
I didn’t know you could be a blind dermatologist.
No, i have a bunch of bumps that are essentially permanent zits, they are pores that are clogged forever. I could get an abrasion therapy to essentially grind them all down for the low low cost of $2300 (not covered by insurance) but for all that i’ve just learned to live with my Lovely Lady Lumps.
MaraScout@reddit
I like The Ordinary for skincare products, and they even have a really nice, sheer foundation in a pretty inclusive color range if that's your jam.
BugEquivalents@reddit
Korean skincare has been the biggest game changer for me. I also struggled with redness, texture, large pores, hollow under eyes.
Not all issues are 100% corrected but greatly improved.
NakedAndAfraidFan@reddit
I’m taking Slynd (a non-estrogen birth control pill) for irregular periods and it’s helped my skin. I used to get hormonal breakouts and now they’re rare.
For cleansing my face, I use an oil based cleanser first and then a “regular” cleanser afterwards. After I apply the regular cleanser to my face, I use a wash cloth to gently exfoliate.
I use a moisturizer with SPF for day time and a thicker moisturizer at night. My skin looks 100x better when it’s not dry.
ateacherks@reddit
AM - Vitamin C serum, moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup (if wearing)
PM on Alternating Days - Tretinoin or glycolic acid exfoliating pads both followed by a thick moisturizer
The_White_Devil_69@reddit
You gotta stick with retinol for several months to see any real results. Other than retinol, I use vanicream cleanser and moisturizer and that’s it. Drinking water like it’s my job helps keep my skin healthy and youthful, and regular exercise does wonders.
Shaydee_plantz@reddit
I want to use products but my skin is so sensitive. I wash with dove sensitive bar and moisturize with Vanicream.

Cerave cleanser. And I moisturize with aquafor and sunscreen in the daytime when I can remember.

Love CeraVe cleanser and resurfacing cream, but my skin is going through extremely dry cycles (around my mouth and lips and eyelids are the worst), for which I alternate CeraVe with Aveeno for sensitive skin. Note: I'm careful to keep the resurfacing cream off my eyelids and mouth. I feel like I can't drink enough water. Sigh.

natali9233@reddit
Derma-planing. It helps with those bitchy little chin and upper lip hairs, and it helps A LOT with removing excess dry skin that keeps those bitchy little hairs from becoming ingrown. It’s both gross and satisfying. The little derma-planing tools aren’t expensive either. I do that once or twice a week followed up with my normal daily routine of Byoma Jelly Cleanser, Thayers Milky Toner, Neutrogena Hydroboost moisturizer, and then Cosrx Mucin Power Essence to hold all the moisture in. I never thought I’d be the kind of person to have a multiple step skincare routine, or that it would involve slathering snail mucin on my face, but my skin has never looked better in my adult life. My skin is dry and sensitive and this combo seems to work well/doesn’t make me break out.
childerolaids@reddit
Cosrx BHA toner, snail mucin, and snail mucin moisturizer during the day. Cosrx retinol, snail mucin and aveeno eczema cream (yeah, on my face) at night. R&D of this routine cost approximately 7 years of my life and 9 million dollars.
ailish@reddit
My skin is one of the few things that I won the genetic lottery on. I had very little acne as a kid and now I don't really need any products for my face. I just use regular lotion and that seems to be good enough.

Funny you should ask. I’m getting a fully ablative CO2 laser done on mine next Friday. I’ve been terrible to my skin all my life- time for a reset! Been waiting like 6 years for this. I’m ready! I just wanted to add that I used to have no issues with my skin, my minimal routine worked quite well. Then I had a baby at 41 and all went downhill. It took me a while to figure out what I needed to do but I am now committed to a milky wash after my tea tree wash. In that milky wash, two drops of organic frankincense. For toner I alternate a milky hydration and one for clear skin. In the morning I used Trader Joe's gel moisturizer with frankincense and at night I use their night time mushroom cream with frankincense. My skin isn't better than ever but it's fine again finally and that is a relief. It will probably change again and then I'll have to figure something else out but for now I'm glad that battle is over.

Tretinoin and sunscreen. I get random compliments on how glowing my skin is.

Discoloration, wrinkles and acne I can deal with, but fucking HATE having hirstutism. Especially now that the hairs that pop up are now grey. I shave that, but I wish I could get waxed instead.
Now, facial stuff I wash my face with Dr bronners tea tree or good molecules pineapple powder, I cycle around using AHA serum, hyaluronic serum, discoloration serum or vitamin c powder mixed in the hyaluronic. I pat on a little bit of softened raw Shea butter on my eyes and lips.
I like Eos shea body lotion because it's not tacky on my skin, something that gives me the ick.
I also drink water, take my vitamins, collagen and eat my vegetables including way too many avocados, but avocado toast with fried egg white and tajin rules.

I'm 50 (X/Xen i dint know), still have periods every month- sometimes for over half a month. 🙄😬 I have some wrinkles and get dry skin if I don't keep it moisturized. I'm always looking for a new serum though as I love them. What's your favorite? 😊

I'm doing the same stuff you tried really. I keep meaning to add vitamin c but I'm scared cause people say it either smells like hot dogs or costs $200. I also love some strategically placed neurotoxin. I'll never do lasers again unless I can be asleep for them.

Light Botox, retinol when I remember, sunscreen and that orange stick of soap for teens.

I have never had any kind of “skin care routine”, and I actually feel like having a skincare routine does more harm than good

I'm a dude, I live at higher altitude so use a daily face cream with 15spf. I don't want skin cancer, I cover my arms up with long sleeves if I'm going to be outside working, or sun screen if I'm not. same with legs, but pants instead of sleeves. the sun is the enemy, protect yourself from it while spending time out in it.
Tiny-Reading5982@reddit
15?? I would maybe try a 50 ... just to be safe.
aroundincircles@reddit
That’s just what I put on daily, if I am working outside, I put on real sunscreen. Don’t need 50 just to walk from the house to the car.

The relatively cheap Gold Bond overnight moisturizer with retinol got rid of my dark spots(melasma) in about a month or so.
For moisture without retinol, I use Eucerin Roughness Relief, it has 10% urea in it and it’s like taking an eraser to your fine lines. It literally works after one use.

I might not be the demographic you're looking for but aside from a brief stint when I was 21 and when I've worked in theater... i don't use anything on my face regularly. In the last 15 years I've worn makeup ~twice a year.
Currently having few issues aside from occasional zits (like wtf, I thought we were only supposed to get those in our youth???)... every so often I'll use some apricot scrub on my face and that's about it. Oh, and chapstick.
My main face issue is... these damn facial hairs 😭😭😭 i hate them.
Tiny-Reading5982@reddit
I wash it when I shower. I use some face stuff 3x a week usually before work. Sunscreen daily.. I got a rx for some dark spot cream that I just ordered today.

Go to bed early. Moisturize.

My face started breaking out and now I'm on spironolactone. Game changer! Plus Azelaic acid and CeraVe gel moisturizer, and my skin is way happier now. Smoother and softer texture after feeling kinda "thick" and greasy.
Go see your dermatologist if you are able. I went thru the same as you... nothing OTC was making a dent. It's likely hormonal.
MisRandomness@reddit (OP)
Yeah mine is for sure hormonal, I’d love to see a derm!

I have gotten a lot of dark blotches recently (aka melasma), any tips appreciated! My skin has been pretty problem free most of my life tbh, other than dark circles (hereditary because of my eye shape, had them my whole life) but I’ve embraced those at this point lol

Musely the spot cream. Fixed my melasma right up.

I’ve been mostly a Clinique user for years and still am. I remove makeup with their balm and wash with their liquid facial soap. I sometimes mix it up with the Korres Greek yogurt facial soap if I need a little extra exfoliation. At night, I alternate between (i.e., switch every other day) the Ordinary’s .5% retinol in squalane (cheap and good!) or Clinique’s turnaround overnight moisturizer (not cheap but good!). In the morning, I usually just wash with water followed by Maelove’s Glowmaker vitamin C and E serum and Clinique’s dramatically different moisturizing gel plus Elat MD’s UV clear sunscreen (pricey but soooo good). I usually have some of the Clinique all about eyes from a bonus, which I will tap on my eyes or other dry spots when I occasionally get winter dry skin. For my body, I feel like I’m dipping myself in a vat of cerave every night haha.

Tretinoin and botox. The tretinoin is really effective for what I think you're looking for, but you have to be patient. It takes about a year to see the full effects. My dark spots have significantly faded; even my partner has commented on my improved complexion quality and they usually don't notice these things.
Other than that, I use drugstore skincare products: Thayers Hydrating Toner, Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, and Biore UV Aqua Rich SPF 50 (daytime).

I wash and use toner and that’s about it. Can’t find an eye cream that doesn’t irritate my eyes and make them water. Considering Botox but not sure yet.

Haven't hit menopause yet (afaik), but I've always had acne issues because naturally oily skin and hormones are stupid. I've also always had ghoulish dark circles. Runs in the family.
I started using peppermint castille soap, and it's helped a lot. Moisturizer, but I wipe any excess off with a towel. Makeup for splotching and uneven colors.
coffee_and_physics@reddit
I have added retinol and sunscreen to my routine.
