Just want to start cooking Asian food especially Japanese and Korean, and looking for a few good shop/store where i can get those ingredients. I barely see anything intresting in Auchan, Tesco etc. Thanks!

trust me, QQEXPRESS is the best choice

Why would mainstream supermarkets like Auchan sell Japanese and Korean ingredients in Hungary? There are many specialist shops selling those in Budapest, all you need is a Google search. Even if you simply walk around the city centre, you will see those shops.
tzalay@reddit
Auchan has an international section and they carry some (albeit limited) stock of japanese, Korean goods (and Chinese, Thai, Italian, french, Greek, Mexican, English, American, Turkish, Arabic (mostly NA) and whatnot.

That's fine - I was reacting to OP saying 'I barely see anything interesting in Auchan' etc. No shit Sherlock, Auchan in Hungary does not have a huge selection of Korean and Japanese food.
tzalay@reddit
Well, there's a definite difference between "Why would mainstream supermarkets like Auchan sell Japanese and Korean ingredients in Hungary?" And "does not have a huge selection" I was calling your attention to this difference, No shit Sherlock...

Flavours By India is pretty central and may cover some of needs, albeit they focus on different cuisines.
Also Jégcsapretek/Daikon season is upon us, those can be found in normal supermarkets too.

Lehel Piac also has a couple of good Asian stores.

X. District is the local chinatown. The most known spot is dunapanda but there are quite a few more smal shops nearby. My favorite is Can Huong in Fuli plaza

There’s a great Asian store on rakoczi Ter
regibegi@reddit
I liked that too, especially that they sold stuff with huge discounts close to (or after) best before date

Dunapanda is a bit far away from the very populated part of the city, but there's a vast amount of asian ingredients there. Also there are a few very small asian shops, look it up on google maps - but I warn you, they're very small and they might not have what you are looking for if it isn't a very common ingredient.

There’s a pretty big one in Campona too. I think it’s the same shop that opened in mammut

A new shop is about to open in Óbuda Mall

Dunapanda and KKJ are the two go-to places.
bacondesign@reddit
There's a shit ton of asian markets, stores all over the city. I'd suggest using google maps.
szty1@reddit
KKJ Asian Supermarket has a pretty decent selection at reasonable prices, especially for Korean food. It's quite far from the center though.
Grouchy-Chocolate270@reddit
They have a smaller one in Duna Plaza (at Gyöngyösi metró station)

There's a new place on Damjanich on the park side.
There are more, but those are the three I frequent the most - off the top of my head.

Other than Dunapanda this one is more central, specialised more towards Korean and Japanese groceries.
