Trailer expires tomorrow… has this ever happened to you guys?

My trailer was inspected December 1st, 2024, meaning it expires tomorrow. So, I’m stuck in New Mexico in the middle of nowhere… has this ever happened to you guys? And if so, how did y’all fix it?

Well, proper pre-trips would have caught this a month ago and you'd have plenty of time, but failing that, google the nearest truck maintainence shop, then call and ask if you can get an inspection done. Is this a serious question?

Picked up a loaded trailer with an inspection sticker that expired last month. Load is gonna be late. Maybe they'll tell the other drivers to do an actual pretrip but that shit is not my problem. I took it to the nearest terminal and sat for a bit while they did the inspection.

Lmao, at almost every company I've ever worked for we've had expired inspections sometimes up to 6 months old

Are you sure? I keep seeing people say “if it doesn’t have the day” but mine does. It has the first day.

You're not stuck, you can move the trailer. Worst case scenario that can happen is receiving a violation for it, but it's not OOS.

You can finish this job and get it to a shop. If the office schedules the inspection anywhere in the next day or so it'll be fine to drive it till then

If it only has the month listed on the inspection, you're good till the 31st.

An inspection sticker is valid for 13 months if it doesn't have a day in the date. So that sticker is considered valid until the 31st. Tell your company about it, they need to get it in for its annual.

If your inspection only has a month/year such as 12/24. You have until the end of the month.
