I’ve been doing uber for 3years now. I’m interested in saving some money to get my CDL to start getting more money. I don’t care about being far from home, I want to know your experience guys.
I live in Tennessee, any good schools or companies for scholarship, entry level salaries, company with no experience requirements, advices for me, ANYTHING helps. Thanks :)

I got my permit and went thru Knight Transportation cdl academy. I didn't want to pay out of pocket. Put the year in and pay off the school debt. J Honestly you'll probably be making what you make now for the year.

So, you went for school there and worked for them to “pay” for the license. ?

Worked for them to pay for the schooling. Don't matter if you leave or not the license is still yours

Great! How much did you make at the beginning? Were you working local? How much you making now with experience?

Started at 47 cents a mile, Refrigated otr, didn't see a check bigger then 750. Left after 6 months and to swift 52 cents to mile. Came back to knight at 8 months exp, because I hated swift. 53 cents a mile

How much is that per week? I’ve seen a lot of trucks with signs looking for drivers and paying +2.5k weekly. I just get in touch with Total Transportation. They said that they will cover tuition and pay me 1.5k - 1.8k weekly. But I have to stay 12 days outside and 2 at home. What you think?

Knight- Swift owns total, wouldn't be a bad thing to be in their circle. I make between 800 to 1200 otr

Oh, you'll care being far from home when your dispatcher and grumpy shipper are fucking with you, and messing up getting miles for your week.

What exactly do you mean?
