Skywest pilots

Greetings all, I am an aircraft mechanic (16 years) and it is my understanding that skywest pilots are non unionized but still have a representative council setup. If that is indeed true, I was hoping I could have a private conversation with one to better understand this arrangement in an attempt to replicate it at my airline for the maintenance personnel.
If none of that is true set me right and tell me to shut up.
Thank you!

Unionize.
The OO student council is just another way for OO management to exploit labor in the name of profits.

You want to stay non unionized but have a student council?

I am aware of what it could look like, but we are currently facing the potential of a union now. The plan is to try to pitch this as an alternative to try and avoid unionizing activity in the future, assuming we quash this one.
