Question… this company is holding my check correct?

I’m currently working at a company and they’re telling my that the pay period is Monday to Sunday and payday is Monday, I started driving on the 24th of this month and the pay period ends on the 30th Sunday, then I should get paid on that Monday the 1st of December correct? Not December 8th the following week… right? I’ve worked jobs with weekly pay but it’s usually a payday on Friday, but this company is telling me that I won’t get my first check until the 8th of December… are they holding my check?

If you can't answer this one yourself maybe they're better off without you.

Not sure if you’ve ever worked a job before but normally direct deposit is going to be a 1-2weeks behind because of processing times and setting up the ACH transfer. It’s nothing your company is doing it’s all in the banks hands.
It sucks when you first start but when you leave it’s nice to get paid another 1-2 weeks after.

Not holding it. It’s processing. They likely use a payroll company. The work week ends and they submit the information. Payroll company processes and pays you the next Monday.

It's usually one week behind. So if the cutoff date is the 30th, then that is the last day you have to turn in any bills or pay documents. Then it gets tabulated and paid the following week.
