Back then, I played w it for a week before it was broken. This one is staying in the box. Perfect gift for a sibling. Childhood memory

I used to have this. The feels
Lost_Taste_8181@reddit
DEVASTATOR!!
merlyndavis@reddit
Damn, I remember that set. I had it myself!
MooseBlazer@reddit
There was something in the 70s before the Transformers called the Micronautes.
theHollowTarnished@reddit (OP)
And GoBots.
senorelvisto@reddit
We old AF if we know what go-bots are. đ. I always thought of them as imitation transformers when i was younger
Snugrilla@reddit
Go bots actually came out before transformers.
Shut_It_Donny@reddit
Fucking legend.
CommodorDLoveless@reddit
Hell yeah!

âMore than meets the eye!â
kevinpb13@reddit
I asked for the Constructicon gift set and was given Construx. I was sad that Christmas.
theHollowTarnished@reddit (OP)
Lol. I asked for a Tony Hawk or Santa Cruz skateboard, and got the Nash board from K mart. I got a lot of shit from my friends. But they all took parts off their old boards and put together a "pro" board for me. If youre not familiar with skateboarding, my situation is the same as yours was. I felt selfish years later. But that was hard to swallow
kevinpb13@reddit
I fully understand. My first board was, I donât think even a Nash. My second was a real deck 2 years later.

You have a good brother!
misscrankypants@reddit
About 10 years ago my sister gave me an Oscar the Grouch alarm clock. We shared a bedroom growing up so she heard that sound a LOT.
My sister passed away suddenly in 2019 and that is one of the items I would grab in a fire. I smile every time I look at it.
Gera1976@reddit
I always wanted that as kid but we were poor growing up and got the generic one from the swap meet for Christmas
Fillmore80@reddit
I'm so jealous.
Positive_Chip6198@reddit
You got devastator for xmas? I got the scooter gobot :( No mom, itâs not the same as a transformer!
Equivalent-Glove7165@reddit
Noice!!!!!
TubaDog9705@reddit
Freaking awesome!
eggy_wegs@reddit
Very cool!! I'm jealous. Hasbro was smart to copy Voltron, and sold a bunch more toys in the process.
I don't have a single one of my old Transformers. My mom was a teacher and she brought all my old toys to her classroom - they never returned. Lost all my cool Lego that way too.
tango421@reddit
Ah hell, I had the Constructicon and Devastator too! My grandparents were a little surprised on how quickly I put them together. Grandma thought some of them might snap given some of the noises and clicking.
theHollowTarnished@reddit (OP)
Yeah. I snuck it to school and broke it that same day. I was "devestated"
absolince@reddit
Do they glow in the dark
Jolly-Guard3741@reddit
Donât open and play with this one.

Ah man. I remember my brother having this. I was too into my Cabbage Patch to care too much at the time.
theHollowTarnished@reddit (OP)
The demand for those things were insane. My mom saw to other moms fighting over one while Christmas shopping.
Choice_Student4910@reddit
I can hear it transforming now
Jifeeb@reddit
When I got this set for Christmas, the crane dude was missing the metal parts that swung out to be connected to the others ti make the big dude (I canât remember the name). I was beyond inconsolable
We were at Toys R Us when they opened the next day.
Love you Mom

Good woman
Hungry-King-1842@reddit
Hook was his name.
bygtopp@reddit
Devastator was and always will the best combiner.
LineImpossible3958@reddit
I loved this set! I played with it so much, it did eventually sort of break but it got a lot of use.
perhaps_too_emphatic@reddit
I had this, too! AMAZING gift!
Harpua99@reddit
Great memory, thank you. Â My brain called âConstructiconsâ before I even zoomed your pic.
n4kmu4y@reddit
I did the same thing!
Zackman80@reddit
It hits my feelings as well. My dad got me the blister versions back in the 80âs for me for Christmas. So cool
Brownie_0514@reddit
Man I wanted that when I was a kid!
drinkslinger1974@reddit
My uncle told my dad he got me a âhotâ gift for my birthday, I think I was turning 9 or 10. Naturally, my brain went right to this. It was a bank that separated the coins you put in. Donât think o ever got over that.
SurviveDaddy@reddit
There were many combiner sets. That one is still the best of the bunch. Your brother is good people.
Impure_guava@reddit
I never had him as a kid but I did get Jetfire and Metroplex for Christmas one year.
obxhead@reddit
I had to get all mine individually.
AgreeableSurround111@reddit
Cool!
Basic_Ad4861@reddit
It was so hard to keep them together as Devastator
RandomNumberHere@reddit
Lucky! We were too poor for those. I had second-hand gobots and a robot watch.
forestpunk@reddit
Gobots rule!
theHollowTarnished@reddit (OP)
I have to thank Santa Clause.
_WillCAD_@reddit
Dayam! Still in the box!
Mendonesiac@reddit
lol you know it's the 80's when one of them is called 'Mixmaster'
Redhook338@reddit
Nice find! I just bought the new Soundwave Lego set and I dug out my old transformers to find the original Soundwave I had. Found this set and all the parts. This one didn't get much play time. I think this was my last set and about the time I phased out of transformers.
IcyShoulder494@reddit
Yeah im 49 Def had this
f700es@reddit
Still have mine. Open of course
lotsalotsacoffee@reddit
My parents got me the Aerialbots boxed set that Christmas, then we went to my grandparent's where the Constructicons box was waiting for me. That was one hell of a Christmas.
theHollowTarnished@reddit (OP)
I wanted them soooo bad. The combaticons also Bruticas

dgodwin1@reddit
Thanks for sharing. I remember those!
CodeRed8675309@reddit
Nice, I bought all the constructicons over the last 6 years and plan to have Devastator in my office once the new site opens this year.
It survived my kids playing with them so I'm retiring it soon.
spqr2001@reddit
Holy shit! I completely forgot about that set. Seeing this post reminded me of it and all the times I played with it.
opbmedia@reddit
I had this set! My favorite set! Congrats and enjoy in good health!
Santa_Hates_You@reddit
Transformers were always my favorite toy growing up.
