1080p High Refresh or 1440p 60Hz

Looking at changing monitors. I have a 27 inch 4k60Hz monitor at the moment, but my PC isn't good enough to run games at 4k (R5 5600, 3060ti).
I like the size of the monitor, so my question is, for a 27inch monitor, do i stick using this one at 1440p60Hz or get another at 1080p 144-180hz?

High refresh 1080p for sure.

Your build is not 4k capable and it's barely gonna be 2k capable.

DLSS and older games exist. I play plenty of games at 4K on a 2080

Here in NZ you could get a Xiaomi G27q for around 165 USD. How much is one at your region?

The first thing to know is how much budget you have, the second what gaming aspirations do you have? , having answered these two questions we can begin to make hypotheses on the hardware that is best to take

Not looking to spend more than $300 NZD. Open to second hand too

If you run that 4k at a lower resolution, is it possible to increase its refresh rate? A lot of monitors, when you go down in resolution, the refresh cap goes up.

Nah this one is stuck at 60hz

Just run 1080p on that 4k monitor...it should look fine

Better a 4k OLED at 240hz since you're out there.

Sansui has very affordable and decent monitors. I have 2 of their 180hz 1440p 27ā screens and a 180hz 1440p 32ā curved. I have been very happy with them.

You don't need 4k but you DO want to shoot for 144hz 1440p on a 32" monitor. That's the sweet spot right now.
Look at this $200 cyber monday deal, this is the monitor I'm using right now and it's awesome.
