Too many problems?

I’m trying to buy my first overlanding vehicle and I don’t really know too much about suspension and stuff like that. So I’d take it to a shop for sure. Would y’all pass or pick this up?
The description said this “1993 Toyota 4Runner for sale 140k miles
Comes with Wilco tire swing, large tire jack, 35” mud tires, fog lights, rock lights, yakima roof rack
Runs great, 4wd works, a/c and heater works
Wish I didn’t have to sell but I need the money to pay off some loans.
I have a binder with records of the work that’s been done on this vehicle over the years.

I would almost never buy a 2nd gen. I certainly wouldn't buy a 2nd gen with that much stuff. 1) you don't need it 2) it's going to make that vehicle almost undrivable
If you're going to get a 4runner and deal with timing belts get a 4th gen v8. You'll get the same or better fuel economy. Better power. Lower purchase price because it's so dang ugly and none of the Instagram influencers us a 4th gen to flex on the poors.

Pass. The 3.0 (also known as the 3.slow) is a bad engine to begin with known for being gutless and prone to head gasket issues. The 3.4 in the 3rd gen (the truck you are looking at is a 2nd gen) is a huge upgrade but still feels underpowered with 35s (can speak from experience, I’ve got a 99 on 35s with a re gear to 4.88 ratios).
This will be slow, and will not drive well. 2nd gen’s also had torsion bar front suspension vs double wishbone on the 3rd gen.
Find an unmodified 3rd gen if you want to overland. They are plenty capable stock and it’s always better buying stock vs someone’s project they want to offload.

That seems like an awful lot for something you are not sure how well used it was off-road.

10k for a 30 y/o vehicle is pretty hefty.
