Had the Harbor Freight Apache case for a rooftop box. It did the job ok, but within the first trip or two the lid shifted and allowed water and dust to get in. Since we keep some power tools in there, I'd like to avoid that. Plus the foam tears itself apart, which is a lil annoying.
Trying to stay in the same dimensions, though could go longer/taller. Probably no deeper than 19" since it'd hit our WeBoost. Currently eyeing Pelican

Pelican. Got 20 years experience with them from small boxes to large cases and never had a single water or dust intrusion problem in environments from the PNW down to the summer desert.

The plastic, particularly on the underside of boxes are PATHETIC. That is what swayed me against them. You can see light through a black case. Not good. Has quality varies across range. The cargo boxes rest on their shipping name laurels.

Pelican cases? Must have been counterfeit ones. The Pelican cases Inised have lasted over a decade in harsh environments, and the bottom plastic is just as thick as the top. If you’re referring to Pelican brand gonna need pics and model.

Pelican and buy a small pouch of reusable silica for moisture absorption just incase. Have had one in my case for over a year and only had to reactivate the silica once cause of moist gear from camping.
Roam is nice but for its price you can get 3 pelican cases and they are very bulky/less aero dynamic.
Plastidip or Flexiseal (better and faster to apply) for foam.

Unless you have purged all air, climactic differences can produce moisture if dew point drops below air trapped in the case.
