I never would have guessed except it was on the cover of my EAA magazine. Not that tail I don’t think, but that airplane.

De Havilland DH.89A Dragon Rapide, and by the looks of things, CF-BND of Pacific Northern Airways Ltd.
This was a UK-built pre-war floatplane, imported to Canada in 1939 and originally owned by Quebec Airways Ltd. It became part of Canadian Pacific Airways' fleet when Quebec Airways merged with them in 1942; it was sold in May of 1947 to Central Northern Airways Ltd, who in turn leased it to Queen Charlotte Airlines Ltd in May of 1949. The lease was a very short one as she crashed on Digby Island after running out of fuel in July of 1949 - somebody had syphoned the fuel tanks overnight for use on their boat, and the next morning the pilot took off not realising his fuel had been stolen! Not long after the crash, the engines were stolen as well...
CF-BND's remains were recovered in the 1980s for a restoration project. Its remains are reported stored at the Alberta Aviation Museum in Edmonton.
