Don’t even add milk to kd. Such a scam. Just make the cheese separate with melted butter in the pot before you throw the noodles back in and give em a toss in the sauce

True Canadian cuisine right here

The ketchup amd relish. Absolute gourmet Michelin star
alextastic@reddit
As an American, I've never even dreamed of those additions, but I'm definitely up for it. I always liked adding black pepper and sriracha.
ryan8954@reddit (OP)
Honestly, I added it for shits and giggles. I'm like "welp, my kraft dinner is already fucked". I was just grabbing from the fridge whatever would look pretty.
I'm probably gonna make this again. It added a nice tang to it.
iluvstephenhawking@reddit
I've added ketchup. Never in a million years would have considered adding relish! But you know what's great? Some salsa. Like some Pace Picante sauce. That's something I can get behind.
BlueberryPersonal581@reddit
I recommend taco seasonings and ground beef.
alextastic@reddit
Well now we're just making some taco mac. 🔥

KD soup was my childhood weakness. This brings back memories lol
tigerlily38@reddit
It’s still my weakness at 30 lol
Quirky_Location5493@reddit
Same.

Little bit of relish with some ketchup and Frank's and down she goes bud. I regret nothing.
GunSoup@reddit
I always added extra milk and a pinch of salt. Shit was cash money.
Dazswolf@reddit
Man when I add to much milk I just add a slice of kraft cheese to it. Thickens it up a bit.
PM_ME_UR_TENDIES_@reddit
How does only one person here know that you just simmer it an low heat for a few min, or until it gets thick? Unless you can't wait a few min. I almost always add more milk than it calls for, makes mixing the cheese powder easier. Add extra butter too 😉 Still good soupy though
_Caster@reddit
next time add a small amount of flour or corn starch before taking it off the heat. itll keep it from being soup
HarlesD@reddit
how much would you say? like a teaspoon?
IcyKerosene@reddit
It depends on how much milk you added. I would suggest cornstarch over flour and if mix it with a little cold water first before adding it to the cheese sauce it will be less likely to clump up. I would try and scoop out as many of the noodles into a different bowl, add a teaspoon or so of cornstarch while constantly whisking the sauce. Keep stirring on low heat until it is thickened and then add your noodles back in.
_Caster@reddit
yes I should've mentioned this. always a cornstarch slurry before adding to the pot. itll clump otherwise. the clumps are tasteless but it kind of defeats the purpose
HarlesD@reddit
gonna try this thanks
IcyKerosene@reddit
My favorite mac and cheese hack is to stain the noodles and while they're sitting in the strainer you put your pot back on the stove on low heat, melt a tablespoon or two of butter in the pot, then add the milk and cheese powder and let it cook while whisking it for a minute or two. When a little of the liquid has evaporated and the sauce has started to thickened a bit then you add the noodles and mix well. It makes it extra creamy.
Jangles_Smith@reddit
Haven't ate it in a really long time but that's actually how I preferred it.
v10l3tt3@reddit
Me too, and always eat it with a spoon instead of a fork
grae23@reddit
Use heavy cream instead of milk and watch your whole life change
sLeeeeTo@reddit
i hope that is sriracha and not ketchuo
i say this as a person that knew someone who would put ketchup on their mac and cheese, and your image is giving me flashbacks. i am obviously no longer friends with them.
i hope you aren’t that person. but if you happen to be my old friend Ryan, grow up

No it's delicious!

She definitely raised a bitch if you put anything besides powder seasoning milk cheese powder and noodles in your Kraft Get that red shit out of there.
wolffangz11@reddit
Kraft dinner is fucking gross and no manner of "nostalgia" can get me to eat it
RooRooGoo@reddit
I purposefully undercook the noodles a little ( I boil them like 3-4 minutes) and then add double the amount of milk when I add the butter and cheese. It is soo runny at this point, but I then just let it simmer all together on the stove to finish cooking the noodles in the cheese sauce. After a few minutes of simmering and stirring it thickens up and it is SO much creamier than the normal instructions.
goal0x@reddit
that is now the dipping sauce for your toast - i mean cheese bread 👀
xMostlyHarmless@reddit
I sacrifice another box and put another cheese packet in when this happens to me. Then you get Thick and Creamy.
The-Spaceman@reddit
Just let it sit for a while so it congeals.
WhatAcheHunt@reddit
Strain the liquid into a pot. Heat up the liquid around medium heat. Open another box of kraft. Take out cheese packet, throw away noodles. Empty cheese packet contents into pot. Add butter if needed. Whisk until smooth, then add noodles back.
FYI you can buy the cheese powder in bulk on amazon. Then you can add some if this happens in the future or if you just want to make your kraft cheesier.

Your expectations are too high. Most folks are in this sub because we’re too tired to cook real food, too high to remember the stone foods sub exists, or rage baiting.
sadahgreen@reddit
You think you fucked it up but that’s the only way I’ll eat it
RedPantyKnight@reddit
My uncle's girlfriend did the opposite once. She made me mac and cheese for dinner but used a ton of butter and no milk. It was actually amazing. My parents refused to make it that way for some reason and as an adult I know why. She used an entire stick of butter. I wouldn't have made it to high school on that Mac and cheese.

That looks bomb 💜
