Any sales on fingerprint services ?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes the .EFT Files are discounted and physical cards and kits are discounted, as well.
elincawantan@reddit
Thanks
WVShaver@reddit
So if I buy this and upload it to SShop or even Capitol Armory when I go to buy a suppressor will the wait time be much longer on the first one?
I believe I read the ATF had to personally review any new trusts and that could add months of wait time but after the 1st one they are fast. Is this true or would it be a quick turnaround even on the 1st purchase?
Thanks
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
No it shouldn't be longer on the first one. Our gun trust is standardized with the ATF, so you want have to worry about the trust review delaying your approval.
FermentGeek@reddit
I am moving to CA from OR for a job and will be taking an AR with me. Does having this trust allow me to keep the ar as is without having to make it CA legal? I’ve read through everything you’ve responded to (love the quick responses and good information) but wonder what good the trust would do for me in CA with such strict rules.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Unfortunately, the gun trust won't allow you to take restricted or non-compliant firearms to states that don't allow for them.
CrastersBastards@reddit
If I want to set up a trust with my BIL, are there ways we can ensure our firearms / NFA items go to beneficiaries of our choice?
Is there a single executor?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes. The trust would have one settlor and he could be a co-trustee, but the named beneficiaries would ultimately receive the firearms within the gun trust.
CrastersBastards@reddit
Thanks for answering so quickly. Hope you / you guys are able to enjoy the holiday weekend. I have a few more questions
Is it an easy process for adding guns to the trust and designating which beneficiary receives them?
Are there added costs for non-NFA firearm additions or any amendments to the trust?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes there is. You can use the designate who receives the firearms in the amendment beneficiary form. No there isn't.
CrastersBastards@reddit
Thanks again for the answers. Last question—promise!
What does it look like if I want to move states away from the co-trustee(s)?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
You can amend the gun trust to your new county/state and you may need to use the ATF 5320.20 to update the ATF of the permanent address change of the NFA firearms/get permission to move them across state lines.
mrbritchicago@reddit
If I'd like to buy a silencer in 2026, is this purchase something I should do? Or is it for "multiple people to share and use certain types of firearms"? Newbie, obviously.
Randyd718@reddit
Check out the single shot trusts if you don't plan on owning too many NFA items
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
A gun trust can be helpful for you in the future and gives you a lot of flexibility with your firearms, e.g. if you do decide to add a co-trustee in the future or want to make it easier to pass down your firearms.
Klutzy-Peanut-3802@reddit
I purchased a Omega 36M directly from silencerco, it’s currently at my local SOT/NFA, they use silencershop to register everything, instead of purchasing the trust through silencershop, can i purchase this instead and would this cause any problems or delays?
Randyd718@reddit
Silencershop also sells similar trusts. Might be easier to just do it through them.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes you can purchase a gun trust through us. After you have your gun trust notarized, you can upload it to your silencer shop account to be used with your silencer shop orders. No this wouldn't cause any delays.
Klutzy-Peanut-3802@reddit
Thank you, just purchased lol
lonememe1298@reddit
Can someone explain what this Is to me?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Explain to me what a gun trust is like a I am a five-year old.: It's a legal document that allows multiple people to share and use certain types of firearms, like suppressors or short-barreled rifles. The trust is a legal entity that officially owns the guns in it, and the trust beneficiaries are legally permitted to continue using the firearms after the owner's death by transferring the firearms to them either using the ATF Form 5 or by abiding by any state or federal transfer laws. Firearms within the gun trust would also skip probate.
HowAboutNitricOxide@reddit
Can I put non-NFA firearms in the gun trust as well?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes, you can use the gun trust with non-NFA firearms, as well.
HowAboutNitricOxide@reddit
Sweet, perfect for avoiding probate since guns don’t generally come with titles like cars/houses
mynewaccount5@reddit
I mean it's not like a lawyer comes to the house and seals everything when you die. You could also just give your buddy the safe code and have an understanding for what you want to happen.
Perfect_Management43@reddit
Also wondering this, following
-t-t-@reddit
Is it wrong to assume this is really only something you'd use for NFA and/or registered firearms? Is there an applicable use for unregistered firearms?
GruggleTheGreat@reddit
It greatly simplifies things if you die unexpectedly
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Are you referring to non-NFA firearms?
-t-t-@reddit
Sure
teezythakidd@reddit
is this necessary for married spouses?
idontagreewitu@reddit
Yep, this would allow one legal access and use of NFA items without the individual who bought the item needing to be present.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
The ATF is going to be adding couples from what we are seeing, but not sure how that will work.
teezythakidd@reddit
🫡 thx
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
You are welcome.
SirLordWombat@reddit
With the changes In Jan. Can I freely transfer 5-6 items to this trust that are already registered?
I purchased one like 4 years ago and always forget lol
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes you can do that.
NoRice9847@reddit
Thanks OP. In for one. Got my trust created and received less than 5 minutes after submitting it
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
You are welcome. Happy Cake Day!
GeorgiaPilot172@reddit
NGT is one of the most unbelievably based companies in the gun industry
mascalise79@reddit
What about moving from a 12yr old trust to a new one and changing trustees?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes, you can do that with either our gun trust restatement service or with a new trust. Both options are valid as the ATF Form 4 transfer tax in 2026 will be $0.
mascalise79@reddit
What’s the best way to communicate to get help with this?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
You can email us at orders@nationaldata.pro and we can help you in more depth about the restatement process.

Im too new to understand this, do you have a FAQ or info guide?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes, we do have guides on our website explaining the gun trust - https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/pages/what-is-a-nfa-gun-trust.
This might also help from our pinned post - Explain to me what a gun trust is like a I am a five-year old.: It's a legal document that allows multiple people to share and use certain types of firearms, like suppressors or short-barreled rifles. k-to-the@reddit
Dumb question, can i put non-NFA firearms into a trust? would make it a little easier on estate planning in my state if i can have everything that needs to be sorted passed down through that
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes, you can also use the gun trust with your non-NFA firearms. It isn't limited to just NFA firearms.
King_of_Teets@reddit
Bought mine a month ago like a dummy. Easy to set up and worth every penny if you’ll own more than one suppressor.
arehugefag@reddit
Not familiar with gun trusts and I’m still fairly young (24 yo). I live in CA so I don’t have any NFA items but I may move in the future. What are the benefits of a gun trust, is it worth it at my age?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
When you move to a free state, the gun trust allows you to add other responsible persons to the gun trust and helps you with passing down the firearms in the future.
Muth4741@reddit
If I already have 2 cans as an individual, will this be useful for those or only future NFA items?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes it will. if you are looking to move your individually owned NFA firearms into a gun trust, you will be able to do that in 2026 for $0. They are removing the ATF Form 4 $200 transfer tax.
throwawayainteasy@reddit
I just got mine started to transfer things to in 2026.
Is it simple to add other people to the trust later? Right now I planned on just myself but I'd like to add some family to the trust at a later time.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes it is. You can amend the gun trust at your leisure in the future to add / remove co-trustees, etc.
Accurate_Use2679@reddit
Do the co-trustees have to be finger printed and go through the same approval process?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes and no. Yourself and named co-trustees at the time of application will need to submit fingerprint cards to the ATF. But that only takes place when you are applying for a tax stamp.
Accurate_Use2679@reddit
So once they are co trustees, they would have to submit fingerprints whenever the trust purchases an nfa item?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes, just like yourself. You could also amend the trust to remove co-trustees too.
PresentationEast6685@reddit
Im confused can someone explain to me what the difference between this one an the silencer co 25 dollar trust is.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Silencer Shop's $25 dollar gun trust is for one firearm and is single use.
PresentationEast6685@reddit
When I did all my finger prints an eveything at the kiosk I swear mine was a family trust, maybe im remembering wrong I paid more then 25. This stuff is confusing lol.
Thank you
phhang@reddit
Yeah it's confusiong lol. In theory you can add other person to the single shot ($25) trust, but I guess there is no easy way to add more than one suppressor to the single shot trust, without making it more expensive. I would just get one from NationalGunTrusts for my future purchases
SSJ_JARVIS@reddit
Man I feel like an idiot but I can’t understand how this works. I get the concept but anyone On the trust still has to do the full fingerprints and stuff right? Do they just go to FFL for that? Is there a charge to be added?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes, with a gun trust, you would still need to complete the fingerprints and stuff. No, not necessarily. You can try to work with your FFL for the fingerprints or use our .EFT File service /paper cards.
SSJ_JARVIS@reddit
So what exactly am I purchasing here? A folder with the legal documents or is it something I fill out online? How do I add fingerprints and people to it? I guess I’m confused if it’s a physical or digital thing.
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
We are selling gun trust paperwork that you can use for your NFA firearms and non-NFA firearms. Your gun trust would be emailed to you, it would need to be printed/notarized in order to execute it. You can add co-trustees with amendments in the future. Fingerprints aren't needed for the gun trust itself. They are needed when you are applying for a tax stamp.
Spiral_Out_462@reddit
Fantastic deal; what addon options should I get? Less I have to have someone else do or wait on the better. u/nationalguntrusts
Constant-Profile-944@reddit
How long is the sale for ?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
The sales will be going on for the next week.

NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
How are you planning on applying for your tax stamp? Online?
IntrospectiveApe@reddit
Yes
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
You may want to look at the .EFT File for your fingerprints and another common add-on is the gun trust binder.
Waldo_R35@reddit
Most likely yes
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)

so once the stamps are $0 would it just be super easy to switch my personal NFA items to a trust?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes it will be, well as super easy as the ATF will make it.

I had a trust done about 11 years ago by another company and I’d like to have it re-looked at to make sure everything is current and good to go. Can I do that through you guys?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
Yes you can. We have a gun trust restatement service to help you bring your gun trust up to the current ATF 41F regs and make changes that you need to make as well - https://www.nationalguntrusts.com/products/nfa-gun-trust-restatement
bh219@reddit
Perfect thank you guys!
BananaBandit1991@reddit
So I buy (1x) of these and that’s good to go for all my NFA items forever?
NationalGunTrusts@reddit (OP)
That is correct. But it might need to be amended in the future as you make changes and regulations change.
SpaceCampDropOut@reddit
If you don’t have a trust, GET THIS NOW FROM THESE GUYS!!
Incredible service. They walk you through everything. I even emailed them on a weekend at 11p asking a question and I always get a response within minutes. I’m not joking!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Explain to me what a gun trust is like a I am a five-year old.: It's a legal document that allows multiple people to share and use certain types of firearms, like suppressors or short-barreled rifles. The trust is a legal entity that officially owns the guns in it, and the trust beneficiaries are legally permitted to continue using the firearms after the owner's death by transferring the firearms to them either using the ATF Form 5 or by abiding by any state or federal transfer laws. Firearms within the gun trust would also skip probate.
Can I use your gun trust with my Silencer Shop Account/Orders?: Yes, you can use our gun trust with your Silencer Shop account and orders. Simply upload a copy of your notarized gun trust to your Silencer Shop account, and they will use it for your future orders. Our gun trust is also more affordable compared to Silencer Shop's traditional gun trust.
Can you add a co-trustee in the future?: Yes, you can use the co-trustee amendment that is included with the gun trust to add a co-trustee in the future. Already approved tax stamps won't require added co-trustees to submit paperwork to the ATF. You would only need to send the newly added co-trustees information to the ATF when you are applying for a new tax stamp.
Can I purchase an NFA item before getting it notarized?: Yes you can. You would only need to have the gun trust notarized before you can apply for a tax stamp.
Can I transfer individually owned NFA firearms into a gun trust?: Yes, you can add individually owned NFA firearms into a gun trust. By transferring the firearms from yourself as an individual to the gun trust using ATF Form 4, you can enjoy the benefits of the trust while still possessing the firearms during the approval process. But note, that you would need to pay the ATF $200 again per NFA firearm to transfer the NFA firearm from yourself as an individual to your gun trust.
Can I make changes to the gun trust in the future? What does that process look like?: Yes, you can make changes to the gun trust in the future. The process for making changes to the gun trust is simple. You can print the appropriate amendment form, complete it, have it notarized, signed, and dated. Once notarized, the amendment is considered executed and effective. The gun trust amendments are included free with our gun trust paperwork.
Are there any additional fees to setup a NFA gun trust?: No, the charge of $29.98 for the gun trust is a one-time charge. Once you purchase the trust, there are no additional fees or recurring charges associated with it. However, when applying for a tax stamp there are costs associated with fingerprinting, passport photos, the ATF tax stamp itself. You may need to pay for a notary to notarize the trust, although there are many free notaries at banks, you can use a friend, co-worker, etc.
How fast are gun trusts approved by the ATF?: The gun trust isn't necessarily "pre-approved" by the ATF. The ATF will review your gun trust when you apply for a tax stamp. The current wait times for tax stamp approvals from the ATF are experiencing delays. While the ATF states a wait time of 45 days, the actual delivery of approved tax stamps can take 90+ days or more for a gun trust. We have seen our gun trusts approved in as little as 10 days in many cases.
Do you still need to add the approved silencer using the assignment sheet even if I have an approved tax stamp? Yes, you do need to add the approved silencer using the assignment sheet even if you already have an approved tax stamp. The assignment sheet is typically used to transfer title 1 firearms into the gun trust or add title 2 firearms after the tax stamp approval.
