Dispersed Camping near Austin, TX

Looking to take my camping rig of grid and try dispersed camping. Any spots near Austin?

According to OnX, there’s literally no dispersed camping in like most of Texas. A majority of the land is privately owned which is stupid. I’m from AZ & we have infinite public land out here in the southwest. UT, CO & NM is your best bet. Anytime I hear folks talk up Texas I always wonder why since most of the state is inaccessible.

Even California has a ton of public land. Texas is by far one of the worst states for public land usage.

Texas sucks goat balls when it comes to public land. Closest thing I know of is the national forests in east Texas.

Thank you.

Dig up routes for the Cheeseburger Loop in east TX and the Ribeye Loop in CenTex. You can camp along the way at campgrounds along the way.
