Just curious, what is the reason it is coming out if storage, now, at this time?

Hey Prince Harry, aka the “Spare”, is on his way home.

Paul McGuiness might not be happy to hear being called a spare after cofounded QF himself 😬

I’m guessing he also doesn’t like being the last one of 10 to be returned to service. But better than being one of the 2 that were scrapped, I guess.

So it looks like “Spare” had an emergency that has prevented its flight to LA. Currently doing 3:30 of circle work over the Persian gulf.

Noyce!

Off to LAX (and the QF maintenance base) for the final touches and where it'll re-enter service as QF12 on 1 December.

Most likely in the next few days, a test flight is being carried out now as shown on radar

Doing laps north west of Abu Dhabi.

Must be a few days off the schedule I saw. Not quite back in service then.

This reminds me of one of our A320s (RP-C8614) which was stored from January 26, 2019 until June 16, 2025. I thought Philippine Airlines was going to give up on it, but I guess not lol.

Small joys. We have until at least 2032 per Qantas and then the A35Ks will take over completely
