Do rich people have heli's for health?

Just curious if its actually a form of transportation to hospitals for when emergencies arise? Seems like it would be easier than dealing with traffic.

I don't think "rich people" say "heli's," but if they owned a helicopter it would be for routine transportation rather than some emergency rush to the hospital.

You know you can't just land your private helicopter at a hospital helipad, right?

Let's not forget the rich Thai owner of Leicester City club and his helicopter crash back in 2018, to say nothing of Kobe. :P

That was karma, with the rapist Kobe, but I take your point. Engine failure at altitude should be survivable in an airplane. If either set of blades stop turning, it's fatal in a helicopter. Copters for the rich are for convenience, not safety.

zero chance there’s a helicopter and pilot 24/7 on standby with privileges for a hospital landing that would be faster than an ambulance when accounting for pilot getting to heli, checks, startup etc in 99% of situations

Guess you’re not rich enough xD
Also good startup idea - Uber but with medical helicopter.

Air Ambulance companies exist…

ha I mean i’m rich but pass
unless the heli will divert patients AWAY from me to see, then i’m your angel baby

not for medical emergency standby. no point when a regular hospital heli or ambulance would be same time and cheaper cost

Air ambulance -- Air Life, Flight for Life, Medical Air Service, RFDS, and similar.
It's cheaper to use that service in the event that ground transportation is unrealistic, unfeasible, inaccessible, or otherwise ineffective for emergent medical trauma transport.

Lots of rich folks live like regular people, not paranoid about their safety all the time. If an emergency hits, they call an ambulance or their insurer sorts out an air ambulance, that’s it.

Like do rich people own a helicopter purely on the off chance they have a medical emergency? No, definitely not.
Also, no. Most of the time it wouldn’t be easier than traffic. Even if they did have a helicopter just sitting there, there wouldn’t necessarily be a pilot in it waiting 24/7. And it wouldn’t follow them everywhere they go. And you do know that ambulances have lights and sirens and don’t generally sit in traffic jams, right?
Among many other reasons why not

Often large metropolitan areas have medical helicopters run by hospital organizations, or 3rd party emergency health transport providers.
I'm in the Nashville area where one medical organization has nine helicopters, an airplane, and more than 30 ambulances. And they're always called out for transportation of the critically injured in motor vehicle wrecks, folks who are that seriously injured aren't usually able to say anything regarding how they may be transported... And they're expensive, costing anywhere from $12,000 - over $50,000 for the trip and life support services.

Yes. It’s called an air ambulance.
