Mine is a mix of the following:
- MST3K Turkey Day marathon
- Thanksgiving episodes of King of the Hill and Roseanne
- SNL Thanksgiving skits
- Planes, Trains & Automobiles
- South Park Black Friday trilogy
Dickrubin14094@reddit
After watching the first two football games my wife and I will put on Christmas Vacation. It’s always the first Christmas movie of the season we watch
General-Carob-6087@reddit
Someone else do the dishes but yes, MST3k.
Jr5309@reddit
Bob Newhart Thanksgiving episode
SNL
Bob’s Burgers
However: My kid, a freshman in film, wanted to watch a movie. So we watched Natural Born Killers, a tale about family love and finding your souls mate 🫶🏻
venk@reddit
I can tell you my least favorite thing to watch on Thanksgiving as a Detroit Lions fan is football.
stm602@reddit (OP)
At least Jack White was awesome
Also, as an Atlanta Falcons fan, I sympathize with your pain
venk@reddit
Better than any superbowl halftime show I can ever remember.
Yoda-202@reddit
Other than football & the afore mentioned PTA, Dutch (1991) is a fun Thanksgiving road movie. Ed O'Neil never misses.

Dang! Shout out to My Blue Heaven!
ChromeDestiny@reddit
Thanks, I knew about it for a long time but I only recently watched it. The fact it's got Steve Martin from Planes Trains and Automobiles and Daniel Stern from Home Alone 1 and 2 also stands out to me.
DarthMech@reddit
It’s also the unofficial sequel to Goodfellas. Both main characters are based on real life Henry Hill.
m4dm4cs@reddit
Want to really blow your mind? It’s based on the same mobster as Goodfellas. And the writers of both movies were married.
whypoem@reddit
Wow! I never knew this. Thank you for this gem! 🩷

doyoulikemyladysuit@reddit
Hell yah Uncle Buck! Might need to add that to my list tonight.
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
Pieces of April too
doyoulikemyladysuit@reddit
I had never heard of that until yesterday when I was looking for movies to add to my day. My standard list has been Son In Law, Thanksgiving, Best in Show, and Planes Trains and Automobiles, but I'd apparently been missing classic Katie Holmes my entire life and I have seen it mentioned everywhere this year!
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
love Home for the Holidays too!
doyoulikemyladysuit@reddit
I'll add it to the holiday list! Thanks!
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit

Football with wine. I work tonight so it’s the first time in like 2 decades I have no wine.
thoughtfractals85@reddit

I'm running out of Thanksgiving to watch MST3K
m4dm4cs@reddit
My wife and I always watch The Godfather while the turkey is cooking.
clergymen19@reddit
There was a time when AMC used to run the Godfather trilogy on repeat all day. We would dip in and out of it in between football, and when Godfather III would start, that's when we would sit down for dinner lol
wxguy215@reddit
Green Bay Packers hopefully beating the Detroit Lions.
Frosty_Cloud_2888@reddit
Local TV channel as a kid would play the cartoon Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, or Return of the King movies. It was hard to keep my eyes open after stuffing myself.
I had to fight for the TV with the whole NFL football games.
zelphdoubts@reddit
Football and the movie "Thanksgiving"
Reasonable-Wave8093@reddit
Add in Blood Quantum for after hours
doyoulikemyladysuit@reddit
Thanksgiving might be the best most hilarious horror movie of the last decade. Patrick Dempsey is PURE GOLD with his native accent on.
zelphdoubts@reddit
It quickly ascended to my family's holiday movie pantheon.
HangryHangryHedgie@reddit
This is the first Thanksgiving Ive not been working in the ER (Veterinary). And I am 600 miles from the family where Id be watching the neices and nephews movie of choice.
Maybe Ill put on Golden Girls. Or watch all the Jurrasic Park Movies. Being a Vegan on Thanksgiving, I find dinosaurs eating people to be a little poetic.
RainbowBrite1122@reddit
National Dog Show. My parents watch, they passed it on to me, and now my kids watch, too. My husband hides in his man cave to watch football.
shadowlarx@reddit
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Son In Law
Scent of a Woman

This kid fucking loves it!
stevendub86@reddit
Such good taste he has!
Fappy_as_a_Clam@reddit
We've created a monster.
He won't let anyone else play, and he won't even let us play multiplayer (but this may be because when he did, my wife and I showed him absolutely no quarter)

Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Persis-@reddit
I didn’t know there were options other than football.
But also, I’m from Michigan, so the Lions are synonymous with Thanksgiving.
Geoff-Vader@reddit
My daughter back home from college chilling on the couch all day enjoying the Thanksgiving Day parade (she loves Broadway shows and was a majorette so it's basically made for her.) Then rolling straight into the dog show. And I'm planning to queue up Best in Show (which they've never seen) when it's done.
If it was just me for Thanksgiving - it's the opening of James Bond season. That or Planes, Trains and Automobiles.
linecookdaddy@reddit
After dinner I kick off the Xmas season with Elf. Always

Lol, there's a Thanksgiving episode of Roseanne where Roseanne's Mom takes her aside to tell her she should have her father cut the turkey. Right after, Jackie hands her a shot of liquor. Love that one.
Lol I found a GIF of it lol lol.
Potvin_Sucks@reddit
Depending on the company, and this one might be a little different, but the Twilight films. I think they came out around Thanksgiving so I connect the two.
